What do you look forward to doing once you lose weight?

When I transitioned into maintenance I bought my first ever two piece swimsuit as my reward for hitting my goal. Of course I was so self conscious that I ended up wearing a coverup the whole time1

- zip-lining
- actually being able to horseback ride when we go to the Bahamas in Sept this time
- white water rafting
- hiking to see waterfalls without feeling as if I am dying
- feel comfortable in a swimsuit
- go back to the water park
- where sleeveless dresses without feeling self conscious
- take decent pictures that I don't feel like a whale in4 -
Also, getting a breast reduction. I've always had big breasts regardless of my weight, but health insurance won't pay unless you're "normal weight".
That is not necessarily true - insurance companies vary wildly on their criteria. Most companies automatically deny the first request to force you to do the work to appeal. If you think you would benefit, get a consultation with a surgeon.2 -
This is a fun thread, and I'm surprised I've never really thought about it before. But here goes 1) not being self-conscious about my jiggly butt when running 2) finishing the 5k and half marathons I signed up for in a reasonable time and 3) developing habits I can sustain.2

Buying clothes I ACTUALLY want, not those available in my size
Not feeling like I take up too much space at a table, in an airplane, on a bench, etc.
Being able to walk/run more comfortably (without getting breathless so fast)11 -
I like everyone's list. I would love to participate in Spartan and mud runner races. I am always to embarrassed to try!4

Looking in the mirror and recognizing the person I see. Catching my reflection as I walk past a window or mirror and not thinking, yuck but thinking "ohh lala". I'm looking forward to smashing my PR goals and having my girls look up to me as an example.4

Being able to wear things in my wardrobe that I can't currently fit into. I will be able to wear EVERYTHING I own & I won't need to spend any money to have more choice. Cannot wait!

Feel better about myself.
Go outside and run and play and be a good role model for my son.
Not feel like I need to put my bag over my belly when I sit so I'm covered up.
Shop for clothes!
Not worry I'm too big for a ride at a theme park. Or a seat on an airplane.
Also... This is maybe a little silly... But I have always wanted to trail run. I don't necessarily like running, but something about the idea of running full tilt through the woods, jumping over fallen logs and ditches... Reminds me of being a kid, being free.10 -
Getting better roles - Playing love interests and more leads!
Better dance performance and skills.
Wearing clothes with a waistband and opening up my fashion options (I only wear dresses, partially because I'm self-conscious about my middle. I'd love to be able to rock skirt/shirt combos again).
Feeling lighter.
Lessening the look of my stretch marks.
Feeling better about myself and improving my mental health through exercise and diet.
Also, I had a great experience this past weekend! I went to a retro store and they were having a super sale. They had one Dita Von Teese black velvet dress left in a size 10 at roughly 90% off ($430 down to $48). I tried it on and it fit me like a dream! Dita is a huge inspiration for me, so it felt so great to take one of her dresses home with me.9 -

Great question! I want to be healthy and comfortable in life, clothes, seats, at tables while eating out, etc. I need to travel for work and the seats are uncomfortable and I dread putting on the seatbelt and praying I'll be able to close it - that's a painful situation.1

I have great difficulty imagining myself at a healthy weight as I first put on weight as a teenager 33 years ago.
I lost some weight a few years ago (I was still overweight but no longer obese) and enjoyed being able to share/wear friends' and sister's clothes. I also really liked being lighter on my feet - wearing heels no longer hurt and I was a lot more energetic.
So more of that is what I hope for.2 -
Most of my fitness things are things I already am doing, since I've come quite far already.
I'm looking forward to being done with weight loss so I can buy one size of clothing and having it fit, instead of the last year where I bought one pair of pants in each size from 48 to 36 as I've dropped weight, and rotated between the three sizes that fit best on any given week.3 -
Being able to relax my tummy and not look prego:/ I constantly have my tummy held in...I wouldn't be surprised if I have some nice muscles under the padding from years of tucking my tummy in;)4

once i reach my life time target weight, i want to continue to stay active in fitness, i am 53 years , soon to be 54 in 12 days, my goal is to hit close to my goal weight by my 55 birthday, i don't expect to be a body builder, but i really admire Tony Horton, he is 58 years soon to be 59 and he is in top physical condition, he is not a big muscle guys but he is ripped, good sized biceps, six pack and can hold his own against younger guys no problem, he is a believer of practical fitness, and i agree with that, so that is my route.6

Freedom at the beach. Getting back to the time when tall sizes were my only issue. Over the knee skirts and dresses. Leather and suede shorts. (Hey these were so hot on me and summer won't last forever)Pencil skirts, fitted shirts and no blazer. The feel of the fabric against my skin without that thin layer of spandex to smooth it all out. Ahhhhmazing6
