You could lose a lot of water weight if you tried this, but it will come back as soon as you begin eating again.
Why not just try a calorie deficit? You can eat regular food and avoid some of the problems associated with a water diet (lack of energy, irritability, light-headedness, cravings, etc).6 -
just no!
you do not need to detox and the above diet basically sheds water weight that you will immediately replace as soon as you start eating food again.3 -
What if I were to mix it with some protein powder? Could I lose and make gains at the same time?6

Cayenne pepper water? Doesn't sound like food OR nutrition.2

Total nonsense. You don't need a detox. And some weird nasty flavored water won't make you lose weight.4

OP ..it's a lie...a big fat keeps going round the Internet lie
I swear some 12 year old troll somewhere once had this idea to make idiots drink a noxious substance ...and then along came queen derpsters like Paltrow and kardashian to make money out of it
Be wise

I hear it works better with ghost peppers . . .4

You're not going to lose 3lbs of fat in 10 days even drinking an evil concoction like this..... there are no shortcuts, no magic bullets and when you see the words cleanse or detox your BS detector should be on red alert.......
Stick to the basics, a modest caloric deficit based on a healthy, balanced diet. (I know, common sense, gradual, healthy weight loss doesn't sell books......)4 -
It's a waste of time and energy.0

Very very very bad idea. I wish that thread was still around where the guy did the "master cleanse" and ended up having an accident in bed...on his wife.2

Just eat hot peppers0

Every morning I start off when I wake up with a 16 oz glass of water with 5 or 6 drops of lemon oil and a dash of cayenne pepper. With how I am feeling I will add vitamin C or baking soda to it. This is not a diet for me, one glass first thing in the morning before anything else. I have been doing this over 2 years now, no problem.0

There is a couple who are on trial for the death of their son because they gave him this drink to "detox" him of his meningitis.2 -
I heard a raw chicken diet could have you losing even more, let me know how that goes.2

Especially if you leave it out of the fridge for a while first!0 -
naw sorry that "diet" is BS. You can't lose 10 lb of fat in 3 days by doing this, or by anything else.0

if all you consume is weird nasty flavored water for 10 days, you will lose a lot of weight. You might also end up in the hospital, but that's beside the point it seems.0 -
I snort cayenne pepper for maximum effectiveness.0

Why would you do this? Drinking some awful concoction with the empty promise of it being a magical fix? You need to treat yourself better than that. Nourish you body properly, don't drink some horribly mix with no nutritional benefit to punish your body.1

But if we're just discussing breakfast beverages, I start every morning with coffee. I continue drinking coffee until I leave work. This is probably not recommended for most people, but I'm some sort of unfortunate half-breed of zombie and slug. lol1

Why?
Water: after sleeping all night I found that I was dehydrated when I woke.
Cayenne Pepper: some of the properties that I understand and think are helping me are
1: Anti-Irritant
2: Boost metabolism & lower blood sugar
3: A source of natural Vitamin E
4: Help Digestion
Lemon: A digestive aid and a way to jumpstart digestive enzyme and hydrochloric acid consumption. Also lemons also increase fatty acid oxidation.
Vitamin C: If I feel sickly the night before or when waking.
Baking Soda: when I have a dinner I think doesn't agree with me, it can absorb and neutralize acid in the stomach and relive intermittent and occasional heartburn.
Note: too much Vitamin C or baking soda can give you disaster pants.
While you can disagree with this it works for me.

@kingrat2014 serious question: If you're adding baking soda to neutralize acid, why not just leave out the lemon which is acidic?
I think drinking something once daily is different than a cleanse, by the way. I don't do things like this, but my dad swears that eating half an onion every morning makes him feel better. If it works for you, by all means continue.0 -
This is also called the master cleanse. It is a VLCD and is against the TOS on the boards.
Not only is this diet stupid, it's also dangerous.2 -
