Not me. I can't live on just meat, fish and oil.5

I couldn't live on meat and oil. I have to have my fruits and veggies. I do, do well without the whoopie pies, soda, cakes, cream puffs,etc2

Why?
It is not sustainable and there is no good reason for, no sugar.
All foods in moderation, portion control and staying within your calorie limit.

I don't consider this a challenge. I call it "daily life". It's extremely rare that I'll exceed 5g of any sugar in a day.0

I think she means added sugar. There are plenty of reasons to avoid added sugar.1

That is what she should say, if that is what she means. There are plenty of reasons to avoid overeating any food.
The best way to avoid added sugar (among other things that are added ie: sodium) is to avoid overly processed foods and eating at restaurants or fast food. Cut out sweets and alcohol. If that is what you want to do and is sustainable for you, go for it.

Just a poke at the alcohol thing: hard liquors don't pose a sugar problem, as all of the sugar content has been converted to alcohol. That being said, mixers can definitely be a problem.1 -
I prefer to eat all of the foods that make me enjoy eating. I can sustain that practice forever.2

I think fruits and vegetables are healthy, dairy can be part of a healthy diet and helps with protein. sweet potatoes are delicious, as are plantains, using condiments like mango chutney can make food taste better, rhubarb cooks easier with a bit of sugar, and, yeah, I'm currently into sorbet as a delicious post dinner treat on a hot day. Not every day, but it doesn't have that many calories, so it's easy to fit in as often as I want some.
Why should I give up all of this for a diet of meat, extra fat, and starch?2 -

OP I am not trying to be snarky at all, please do not deprive yourself of anything you enjoy! I think you can tell by all the response from us folks that have been at this for a while now! Listen to them, they know what they are saying. Join us, its much better this way!
and by the way @Gallowmere1984 is on a low carb diet. If you want to choose low carb diet, thats ok too, but a "no sugar" group of follwers is not needed for that..

True, but it's just how I do things (and have for a long time). Sugars and starches are dat poverty food (kinda like Subway compared to Jimmy John's or Firehouse). :-o0 -

@sayarosalie0 I have been off of foods with added sugar or any form of grains for nearly two years. The first two weeks were hellish because I had to leave them cold turkey in my case then the cravings just quickly faded and have not returned. I work to keep my daily carb totals just <50 grams and protein in the 70-90 gram range daily.
In just 30 days after I started the Way Of Eating my long term pain levels of 7-8 dropped to 2-3 and still remains low. IBS of 40 years fully resolved after 180 days and all other health markers have greatly improved. I still do not use added sugar or grains because if their toxic effects in my personal case.
