    Yes Elise and Becky that's exactly how it is supposed to work. On your left means your passing on there left. They need to hold there position or move to the right.

    Hello again, August is a month of work trips and being away for me but I think now I'm back (first August day at home!) I'll log the few rides that I get out on. The day is good, the Berkshire trees are gently waving at me, the bike is calling my name.....except I sprained my arm yesterday toting a heavy guitar case all over town. Gently does it. I'd like to maintain the biking improvements I've made over the last few months.

    For the past 2 weeks, I have been biking everywhere. I got rid of the car and bought a bike. I usually do about 15-20 miles a day depending if I go anywhere for lunch or not. If I go anywhere after work, that is more added on.

    add my IG for cycling goodness. Plan on discovering two more trails by the end of this week

    IG = @king_of_zing

    I would also like to know your instagrams if you post cycling journeys.

    Welcome Becky.
    Hey there! I'm wanting to join in. A couple of years ago I got to riding more, and started going out on the country roads riding to the next town. I loved it so much but it became too hard on my joints. SO I stopped riding.

    Riding your bike should not make your joints hurt, unless you have other underlying health issues. I would suggest looking to how your bike is adjusted. Is your seat high enough? Is your seat in the correct position forward/back in relation to your pedals? Are your handlebars adjusted correctly? Do a search on YouTube for how to adjust these to fit you better.

    @Becky Everything tcaley said is correct. Shouldn't have joint pain, I'm guessing knees? If all is checked off above list then check posture. One of most common culprits is riding with knees at outward angle. This transfers the thigh power to the knees, knees to the ankles, ankles to bottom of the foot. Everything is under stress. Ride like your wearing a dress lol. knees together as much as center bar will allow. Thighs, knees, ankles all in line to foot pressure to the pedal. If no other this is the good reason for clip-in pedals. It limits your leg motion besides up and down.

    Thanks for the feedback! Very much appreciated! I do have some health issues, though we haven't narrowed down exactly what yet. My biggest issues is my SI Joints, and this really takes the pressure off of them. I had to give up running too, so this is a great alternative for me, that allows me to push myself and keep at it consistently. I do it nearly ever day. Regular biking and Running won't let me do that anymore!

    Thank you as well for your feed back, I really appreciate it. My biggest problem is my SI Joints. I have troubles with my wrists too so just the weight on them is a problem, knees get to be a problem as well but none of it is as bad as the issues with my SI Joint during the ride and after.

    Haha! Poor girl that got confused must have been so nervous to be riding with a group. My LBS owner told me to do plenty of riding alone before I joined a group ride.

    Welcome back tcaley4.... Been riding several years with clip in's. Had a fall Saturday on a fund rasing ride for the trail. Inexperienced rider made a bone head move that I had to jam on the brakes for and couldn't get unclipped. On your left means your going to pass on the right "really" I thought you wanted me to go to the left!!!! ggrrrrr. It happen because 4 other riders heard me call her a f__ktard!!!

    This is why I just scream "Bicycles Passing" at the top of my lungs. :)

    I agree ... the only reasons cycling should hurt your joints is if you don't have the bicycle set up correctly or if you're pushing too hard a gear for the terrain.
