How to solve a sweet tooth craving?

Frozen cherries work for me, kinda like a boiled sweet but much better and healthy. Takes ages to eat them and fill me up. I'm just getting started so looking for new ideas too x3

For me, it's about letting myself have a little sugar, and making sure protein is involved. My top pics (for a person with a serious sweet tooth!) are:
1) Plain/Lower-cal Greek yogurt (Trader Joe's is the best), 1/8 c nuts, 1 tsp honey.
2) Apple with PB- like the young lady mentioned above, you must pre-spread the peanut butter on the slices, otherwise you lose portion control.

I make a root beer float with 4TBS of non-fat Cool Whip and diet root beer; only 30 calories.

This, nearly.
I made room for real dessert every day when losing weight.
I didn't starve myself then crash and burn.
I kept my calorie limit sustainable by not trying to lose too much too fast, and I ate back 50-75% of my exercise calories.
I lost 80 lbs in a year, not too fast, not too slow. I reached my goal weight and have maintained it for over 4 months and counting.
Deprivation diets don't work. Allowing yourself a little of what you love will keep you going long enough to reach your goal.13 -

I leave out the choc chips and add 10mg cocoa powder to the warm quinoa before mixing everything. I put the bites/balls afterwards in the freezer and leave it there until I have a craving for something sweet.2 -
have you tried making protein fluff? It's tastes like a lighter whipped ice cream.1

Breyers carb smart ice cream topped with either sugar free hot fudge from smuckers (other kinds I tried I didn't' like) OR sprinkled with cinnamon is my all time fav. I haven't found halo top yet but I've tried arctic zero and it tasted like freezer burn0

If you eat fruit frozen grapes are good, and the faux "ice cream sandwich" recipe from sparkpeople is really good too. Two graham crackers with light whipped cream in the middle, frozen then cut into sandwich shapes. Great snack.1

I have what I am craving and make it fit into my calories...... In the past avoiding cravings lead to binges.5

A mixture of berries with table spoon of chocolate syrup. You can also do apples with warmed up peanut butter.0

My new thing is a chocolate Fiber One brownie microwaved for a few seconds, with a serving of Halo Top Vanilla Bean ice cream. Saves my sanity for around 150 calories.2

I enjoy a peach milkshake every night, however,
you could use most fruits. This is a real treat.
1/2 C skim milk
1/2 C peaches w/o juice
3 ice cubes
vanilla and sweetener to taste
Blend til smooth. 90 calories.

I put frozen strawberries in the food processor with a little sweetener and a splash of milk. Strawberries are low cal and if you do this it is like strawberry ice cream.5

I eat small bags of dried mango, get them in Asda. 103 calories a bag sweet and chewy and because they are in a bag like sweets you feel like you are having some.0

I'll go for Dove dark chocolate or I'll make a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Love them both!0

If it's the middle of the day, I help myself to a coffee with a couple sugars and cream. To me that is sweet and creamy enough to satisfy the sweet tooth, PLUS it suppresses my appetite, and the calories come in much lower than a doughnut.2

For me, when I'm craving cake or chocolate, I'll eat a Tootsie Pop (60 calories) or half a roll of Necco Wafers (110 calories) vs. the 300+ you get from cake or chocolate. Sometimes I just flat out crave sugar and fruit doesn't cut it. I figure that the Tootsie Pops and Necco Wafers last a long time and are very sweet and lower calorie than some of the alternatives. Yes, I know this isn't the healthiest snack by a long shot but it's something that helps me stick with my diet.0

I heard from Dr. Eric Berg that when your craving sugar that means your body's Potassium levels are deficient.
So I started eating vegetables high in potassium and it is working!
I still like my sweets but I truly do not crave them like I did before. I used to always go over my recommended sugar intake and now I'm barely even 1/3 that amount at the end of the day. Now, when I get "hormonal" once a week. I give myself a little room for more carbs and sugar.0 -
