Seriously! I remember walking by the mens cologne counter at Macys at Christmas time with my son last year, I was sniffing like crazy just walking by. I was thinking, d*amn, I miss having a man that smells good for me.

Does anyone else see the irony here?1 -
Clinique Happy for Men. I dated a man that wore Light Blue, not sure who made that. But he always smelled amazing. I almost salivate thinking of that smell. Those would be my favorite.0

This is fabulous. Being a lady who like ladies I have no man to put it on and it is far too butch to carry off myself, but airport duty free and a sample paper and I have something nice to smell all flight, no matter who is sitting next to me1 -
Love either D&G, or Davidoff Cool Water.0

I like my husband best when he smells like wood smoke. Sometimes he will wear nag champa oil, and I'm okay with that, too. Other than that, I just want to smell his skin. I hate overdone cologne.0

Over $300 a bottle ??
Get this,
When in college, I was flat azz broke and I would just wear Coppertone suntan lotion.
It was cheap and smelled like the beach and Summer vacation.
Chicks would dig it because it brought back good memories.
I mean seriously, who doesn't like the beach when you're 19 years old?
... did I mention that it was cheap?
That's nice for you. Some of us wear fragrance as a hobby, not because "chicks/dudes dig it". I don't smoke and I don't drink -- and I'll wager the money I've spent on quality fragrances over the past decade is way less than a smoker/drinker spent on his "hobbies" over the past decade. I don't care what others think, someone asked a question and I provided a detailed response that others are free to follow up on.
As I pointed out, there are plenty of quality fragrances you can get for cheap (they usually don't have a celebrity's name associated with them). Cool Water is one that has been mentioned here -- it was a revolutionary fragrance in its time that introduced the "fresh" family of fragrances.
If anyone chooses not to look into any of the options I provided, that's their privilege. Those who are interested in more info might check out "Perfumes: the A-Z Guide" by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez. Those who aren't interested go buy a bottle of Coppertone and have at it. "Chicks" apparently will "dig it".2 -

I started investigating fragrances some years ago when I tried to figure out what cologne I owned in the 70s that had cedar and lime notes. Never found it, but learned a lot in the process. My recommendation is read reviews, try samples, go to department stores and try what's there, and figure out what you like. Good sites for reading about fragrances are fragrantica.com and basenotes.com; for decants (samples), surrendertochance.com, luckyscents.com and theperfumedcourt.com. There are indie perfumers as well as more mainstream perfumers.
My favorite warm weather scents include: Guerlain Vetiver, Creed Baie de Genievre, L'Artisan Fou d'Absinthe, Tauer L'air du Desert Marocain, Comme des Garcons Laurel, Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel. For colder weather, Guerlain Derby, Creed Orange Spice, Creed Bois du Portugal, Knize Ten, several Serge Lutens export fragrances. But these are just my personal favorites after going through literally hundreds of samples over a period of years, yours will probably end up different (I tend to favor older "classic" scents). Some of the above are affordable (Grey Flannel can be found for $10 a bottle), some are obscenely expensive (I've seen Guerlain Derby listed for over $300).
Good houses I'd suggest for more adventurous younger guys are Comme des Garcons, slumberhouse, some of the Creeds (like Green Irish Tweed). I like quite a few of the Serge Lutens offerings, you might check those too. You can find a lot of these at higher-end department stores -- as well as purchasing decants from the above mentioned sites.
You have good taste! I have tried quite a few of what you mentioned. I like Creeds and some ouds!0
