    Tue 23 - 31.64 miles

    MTD 408.81 / 500, YTD 1547.76 / 2000

Without wishing to tempt fate, it's looking good for hitting the monthly target this time. Well on the way to my annual target as well, which I'm hoping to beat by a lot.

Got in a hot windy ride this afternoon to knock out my last goal miles, as I hadn't been on the bike in 2 days and wanted to get in something mid-distance w. some threshold intervals before my team ride tomorrow.

Still debating if I want to do another long ride to/from tomorrow's group ride (likely 90 miles vs. the 112 last week), but may hold off depending on how my legs are feeling as I'm supposed to take a stepback/recovery week this week.

    8/1 - 15 miles (w. 10 mile solo time trial @ 23mph - out & back)
    8/3 - 33 miles (tri team ride)
    8/4 - 83 miles (solo long ride - 18.3mph / 143 watt avg)
    8/5 - 11 miles
    8/6 - 20 miles
    8/7 - 11 miles
    8/8 - 5 miles
    8/9 - 23 miles
    8/10 - 24 miles
    8/11 - 11 miles
    8/13 - 34 miles (18.9mph / 152 watts / 171NP)
    8/14 - 71 miles (18.7mph / 158 watts / 174NP)
    8/16 - 38 miles
    8/17 - 112 miles (19.1mph / 142 watts / 160NP)
    8/19 - 66 miles (group ride + lunch ride)
    8/21 - 37 miles
    8/23 - 32 miles (18.4mph / 144 watts / 165NP)

    Total: 626 miles
    Goal: 621 miles
    Done!

    2016 Races:
Granfondo FL century - 23.4mph TT segments
    Ironman Florida 70.3 - 5:07 / 2:39 bike split (21mph)
    Ironman Augusta 70.3 - 9/25
    Ironman Florida - 11/5

@smyle5 and @cpanus - Big congrads on hitting your goals with time to spare!!

Really really 'ot & 'umid - thanfully overcast so no blazing sun to add to it. The little rain shower towards the end was very welcome

I think I taunted the training gods by ignoring my rest/stepback week and going out for the century today by riding to/from my team mid-week ride. They enacted their revenge at the 91 mile mark with a spectacular wipeout when I veered off the edge of a trail (lost focus), flipped over the front of my bike and took out my left arm, garmin watch, left knee, right palm/wrist, and ripped up my jersey. Nothing broken, lots of cuts/bruises, my left wrist is pretty sore, and I'll be taking a few rest days now the hard way. On the plus side, I crashed near a good thai place I had been meaning to visit for lunch, so got to have a bite once I cleaned off the wounds, and a neighbor swung by in her SUV to snag me. I think I'll be hitting up the trainer for the next week, but depending on the wrist, should be ok to run tomorrow, swim in 2-3 days, and bike outside again in a week.

    8/1 - 15 miles (w. 10 mile solo time trial @ 23mph - out & back)
    8/3 - 33 miles (tri team ride)

    8/16 - 38 miles
    8/17 - 112 miles (19.1mph / 142 watts / 160NP)
    8/19 - 66 miles (group ride + lunch ride)
    8/21 - 37 miles

Here's a tip for people - checks your inner tubes!

Changed a tyre yesterday and didn't want to reuse the old tube. Used a new spare from my stock but it failed when trying to inflate. Gatorskins are a beast to fit but pretty convinced I hadn't nipped it on fitting. Annoying!

Found an old tube but that failed when inflated. Getting very annoyed now!

So took out my last new spare from my saddlebag, inspected it before fitting and found a hole, that was a brand new and untouched tube. Bit of a "gulp" moment as that's been carried on the bike as my spare for about the last 1,500 miles including some trips to pretty remote areas.

So lesson learned - I'm going to check all new inner tubes in future and not assume they are perfect.

Tubeless all the way. I gave up tubes nearly 10 years ago. B)

    So far this month 768km
800km is within striking distance (the bat is swinging), 900km will need some pushing, 1000km is a big nah

    Thu 25 - 31.63 miles

    MTD 498.35 / 500, YTD 1637.3 / 2000

Decent ride in, in the morning, dreary plod home against surprisingly strong headwind, enlivened by two cars attempting to wipe me out on a roundabout - fortunately, I had a suspicion they weren't going to stop so slowed down. On the bright side, that takes me over my week target with a day to go, and just barely short of my month target with 3 riding days to go.

@ohhim - sorry to hear about our crash, that sounds pretty spectacular. Hope you're mended soon

    Where is everyone today?

Anyway, it's milestone day for me:
    Fri 26 - 26.46 miles

    MTD 524.81 / 500, YTD 1663.76 / 2000

Just ticked over my target, so time to push that out a bit. Don't think I can hit 600, but 575 should be doable, weather willing. Also this ride pushed me over 150 miles for the week, which is the first time I've ever managed that.

Signing off for the week with a happy face :) and off to eat curry... have a good weekend everyone
