No. Green tea doesn't help you lose weight. Drink it if you like it, but don't expect anything other than a tasty beverage.10
-
No, only scam stories.4
-
No food and/or beverage, helps you lose weight. Only consuming less calories, then you burn does.6
-
Nothing magic about tea. Drink it if you like it but it's not going to make you lose weight.3
-
Only success story I have is it making me feel good when I have a cold.6
-
No, but it helps me reach my water intake for the day.4
-
There are no shortcuts or magical substances. Stick to your calorie goals.1
-
I like it for my afternoon caffeine, make it cold brew style the day before... but no... its just a drink.2
-
Nope.
tastes good though.1 -
I drink green tea because I like it. It has no effect on my weight loss.1
-
Ok it has been like 4 months since I am drinking green tea everyday morning before any thing else and there is no change1
-
Yeah. It doesnt do anything, except maybe replace beverages that have calories.3
-
The only way a certain food - in and of itself - can help you to lose weight is if it helps you to remain satisfied, while not causing you to go over your daily calories. There are no magic bullets when it comes to WL. I LOVE the stuff, but my WL success wasn't a product of it. Eating good tasty filling food that I liked in sensible and measured portions did that for me.2

It's a tasty beverage: I especially like it cold (unsweetened), and drink it most every day.
But other than being a good-tasting non-caloric beverage, no, I don't think it helped me lose weight.
Eating at a reasonable calorie level, while getting enough protein, some healthy fats, and plenty of fruits/veg (for fiber, micronutrients, and tastiness) - that helped me lose weight.
YMMV.1 -
Only if you swap tea for calorie filled beverages (i.e. coffee with creamer and sugar, soda Frappuccinos). Just creates a calorie deficit but no magical weight loss potion to green tea.1
-
The only green tea that ever helped me lose weight was at a little shop on the top of a mountain. It was close to a three hour hike to get to it, and then I had to turn around and hike back down to get to the train station.
I lost a pretty good amount of weight getting to it.12 -
No, there is no magic bullet for weight lose. Unless you count reducing your calories.0
-
I drink green tea every day. I ran out recently and haven't been to the shop. I can 100% tell you it didn't make any difference whatsoever.0
-
There are health benefits to drinking green tea but ive never heard of it helping to lose weight.0

The caffeine will give you a boost. It's not doing anything special to make you specifically lose weight.5 -
Green tea tastes like dirty grass. Even though i hate the stuff, if there was an inkling of truth to green tea = weight loss, I'd be chugging it down all day long. But alas, green tea is just... tea, nothing more.2

different things work for different people, that not so special combo that i listed has got me down to 6% body fat at 190 lbs i think its kind of special, thats what works for me0
-
What do you do with all those powders - snort them?3

Different things working for different people, but that doesn't change science, and green tea does not = weight loss.1 -
Drinking tea helps me stay in a deficit because it gives my mouth something to do and the liquid keeps me full.1
-
im not talking about green that you drink im talking about green tea extract powder0

It still doesn't = weight loss directly. It has caffeine and gives you pep, and its got antioxidants and all, but there is nothing in green tea extract or powder which directly causes weight loss.
I don't understand why people insist on believing in these supplements. Isn't it a GOOD thing to know that YOU achieved what you've achieved, and it wasn't some supplement doing the work?4 -
so what dose science have to say about green tea extract do you have any article on hand i would like to know what they have to say about it0
