I think this might count for a NSV... Today is my nephew's 9th birthday, and instead of eating three cupcakes like I did at his brother's birthday party back in March, I just ate one cupcake...his mom tried to get me to take more home with me, but honestly, that one cupcake was all I wanted, no more, no less. Not bad for the girl who use to go "One? How about three?" when it came to cupcakes.23

I was in a funk for a few weeks due to feeling sick and many things in my life felt like they were just slipping into an uncontrollable feeling of defeat. House cleaning, work stress from being out, wanting to move to a better house/city, feeling isolated in this small town away from my family and friends. The only thing I had kept up with was MFP, logging and weighing in.
I'm not sure what was different this time because all of those things have been there at some level for a while and I have looked many times for a new place. Maybe because they all felt like they were catching up with me at once after being sick for so long, but last week I looked for a place, found one that looked awesome and made an appointment to see it. That weekend, last weekend, I got on MFP and made more friends, viewed the house I found, applied for it and cleaned my house. This week I have had so much energy and feel great! My work has improved and gone back to what it was before the funk, I am signing my lease tomorrow and I have revamped my obsession with MFP lol
I also feel more committed to my goals. I've lost 42 pounds so far this year and today only lost .2 for the week, but I'm not discouraged at all. (Disappointed yes, lol but not discouraged.) It's really sinking in that I am DOING this. I'm not stopping. If I can keep this up through all that feeling of defeat, I know I'm committed and that is a belief about fitness that I have never had until now32 -
Okay, I've only been doing this 12 days, so my NSVs are very, very small...but I see a change in my stomach, face, and feet (the latter were one of the things that got me off my fanny: I'd never had chubby feet until about 2 months ago...now they're back to what I'm used to.)
I normally wouldn't post such small NSVs, but I really wanted to ask, since the topic of MFP lingo came up, what "brownshirt" means. I Googled NSV and Dunlap's Disease some time ago, and figured out *kitten*, but I can't get "brownshirt".
I have no idea what "brownshirt" means here either. The only context i knew it is was historical Germany.3 -
Pants I bought in July no longer fit me. I wore them to work today and they were so loose.13

It is also a reference to the TV show Firefly.7 -
Today is my 600th day in a row of logging.45

Mine is pant size. I realized the size 20 jeans are getting too loose and baggy so I've pulled out a few older pairs. I fit into a size 18 jeans and my favorite pair from years ago, size 16. Different brands and cut so who knows what my real size is--I just want to stave off the trauma of shopping for clothes a bit longer so I'll take this little victory!15

Feeling more and more confident each day, inside the gym and out!!

I purchased a pair of jeans that have a 3 at the beginning of the waist size! I haven't worn that size since 1976.
And, they fit.33 -

Awesome attitude!
This is why I read this thread every day!
You guys make strong too, it's very important to be honest and share what we go through in our journey, we are helping others and we don't even know it! I used to keep to myself all the time but I wanna give a MASSIVE shout out to Chris and Dave, who love this section too they've helped me be more open about my journey and every single day they are a huge motivation for me.

That's so funny, I did the same thing on the same day so that I could run without shin pain when doing c25k and stop dropping it the second week! I over-pronate.7 -
A month ago when I started giving plasma at 203 lbs, it took 45 minutes to collect it. Now, I am doing Jillian michaels 30 day shred and eating clean. At 198 lbs, last time it only took 29 minutes to collect it.20

I bought a pair of workout leggings when I started 2 months ago. They are XXL size and were way too tight. I had hidden them away and just this morning decided to try them again. I am down 26.7 lbs now and they slid right on with no issue. I was so happy I went out and bough two more leggings but this time in XL size. I tried those on at home thinking they'd be way too tight and they fine great too.21

I used to wear men's swim shorts as the women's wouldn't accommodate my belly. I'm back in my women's swim shorts now-shorter and cuter. My eldest (25) is here for a few days. So is a buddy of his from High school.
The buddy forgot a swim suit. My old swim shorts-waist 36 are fitting him well.25 -

Went for a real bike ride today for the first time since last September. Back then it was the catalyst to finally get to a doc and exam the recurring lower back pain I was suffering then. After intense physio, finding MFP and changing the way I live and eat I finally got back on my bike. It was wonderful. 90 minutes - gonna feel it tomorrow but it was worth it!23

Today is my 100th day of logging.
Also I took a photo yesterday with my brother (we're about the same height and he's 20 pounds less than me) but I didn't look bad in the photo!28 -

I remember I used to be pretty nasty to myself inside those fitting rooms and utterly hating everything, leaving super depressed and ALWAYS with a black dress and guess what? It didn't matter if I was a size 4 or a size 24.
Well Yesterday I walked in there super relaxed knowing my hard work was paying off and whatever I have it's because of me being consistent and doing things at my own pace If I didn't find a dress this time it was okay and I shouldn't be nasty to myself and that I should understand I came from a pretty big size, I knew I was making awesome progress and if it turned out I wasn't there yet then I shouldn't be discouraged and completely give up just because this time they didn't have a dress for me and since I've been putting a lot of effort without killing myself I knew next time I went there I would find something.
So as always went for the safety black dresses but as I was heading to the fitting room I saw this stunning royal blue dress with jewels I stood there thinking how beautiful it was then my first thought was: That dress is too pretty I bet they only have a 2, 4, 7 and 9 I made those negative thoughts be quiet inside my head and I headed over there and they had it in 15! I just couldn't believe such beautiful dress would be available in a 15.
The lady helping me out was extremely nice, in a super good mood and beyond helpful! I swear the second I walked out and I looked at myself in the mirror I felt just like a princess! The lady and I agreed that was it! So for the very first time in my entire life I'm not wearing a black dress to a wedding.
Next to my fitting room there was a 30 something year old lady who was a size 4 and I overheard her saying she loved the dress but she HATED her arms. So here I am a size 15 and the old me would've felt extremely selfconcious but I made myself stop again before I thought anything sad and as I lifted my arms I noticed all that weightlifting is paying off in my arms, there's no way they look ANYWHERE near to what they looked like when I started.
I haven't been looking at the scale at all but I can tell in my clothes and how much energy I have lately
Sorry for this massive post but I hope it helps someone out there. Posts on this section had made my days much happier, so I wanna pay it forward.
I've stopped saying things like "I'm nowhere near my goal" or things that make it sound I apologize for my current size when I say things like that it feels I don't give credit to myself for the hard work I put in every single time, I've made the choice to ENJOY every single step and stage of this journey, I know as I keep going I will see changes and I will enjoy those too.
Wonderful, wonderful post!
Awww thank YOU! I just wanna help out I remember you and I wanna say I love your posts too Lol sorry I don't wanna sound creepy like
Not creepy! We are all in this together!!

For me, it's the realization that I've been addicted to the fast rush of energy carbs gives me and that they no longer have the hold they had over me! (How is it that I've allowed food to control me for so long?) At any rate, I'm over sugar--even fake sugar--and I feel so powerful. No more cravings, no more crashes! (No more carb naps... seriously, it was that bad.) Take THAT sugar! I've beaten my nemesis!25

The outline of my ankle bones are now visible. Usually, that area is swollen and I have to feel around for the indentation!23

I am wearing a dress today that was very tight on me last year, even with the strongest Spanx I could find. Today, it fits perfectly and no Spanx required. Also, I tried on a pair of jeans I bought earlier this summer and they were at least 2" too big in the waist27

81 pounds downs in 2.5 years. About 10 to go. Every day feels amazing. Like I've reinvented myself. I want to work out. I want to eat healthy. Life is too short to spend it in front of the TV or the.computer.29

Over the past two and a half weeks I haven't been tracking as i thought I would give myself a break. It was my wedding/honeymoon after all!
Now I'm back to tracking. I actually surpassed my goal for the wedding by almost 10 pounds, so to put on 4 pounds over my past 18 day indulgence is not bad at all!
Back to the gym tomorrow for spin class to dive head first back into my gym routine!
