High protein, low carb breakfasts

How about a veggie crustless quiche or muffins? I usually make mine over the weekend and then have it throughout the week. I'm curious of what others suggest!3

I have just discovered PB2. It is powdered peanut butter. It is lower in calories than PB because it has less fat. I put 2 spoons of it into some plain yoghurt, and this is my breakfast. I am planning to try it with tofu - that might work better for you if you avoid all animal products, not just meat. But, choose only high quality tofu.7

I do a Cliff Bar, typically Coconut and Chocolate Chip with a Protein Shake.1

Yep, make a quiche. 6 eggs, random veggies, bit of cheese, then bake it until it's set.
Or you can use low carb tortillas to make egg/veggie wraps.2 -
I love eggs with salsa. There are a ton to different types of salsa out there so you can pick one that suits your taste.2

I eat this for breakfast often: 1/2 C 1% Cottage Cheese, 4 sliced strawberries, 2 Tbsp blueberries, 1/2 C chopped pecans. It's a delicious, on the go breakfast!3

If you are looking for high protein and low carb, then you should drop the high carb item you already are eating (oatmeal) and ignore the suggestions for high carb items already suggested (Clif bar, berries). But then the 'no meat' criteria is going to add significant difficulty. Basically your options are eggs (already doing that), nuts, and *some dairy products (stuff that is low carb like cottage cheese already mentioned. Keep in mind that nuts are not really high in protein, though. When you actually look at the macro breakdown, you will see that nuts are primarily fat, not protein.
I suggest you consider why you are looking for high protein specifically and consider if including fats will help you achieve whatever goal(s) you have. Also, I'm not sure why you don't eat meat, but I would strongly suggest reconsidering if you are trying to decrease carbs and increase protein. Being able to add fat and meat will open up a lot more possibilities for you.9 -
Turkey bacon. Or turkey sausage. I make up some on Sunday's with boiled eggs. Or you can have a poached egg on turkey sausage with your voice of bread or no bread at all! You can make those up ahead of time and wrap them up. Grab and go in the morning after a quick microwave minute!5

Try quinoa and beans with some salsa or hot sauce (be careful - these are likely to be high in carbs, but if you just use a LITTLE for flavor you won't get too much) and some cheese mixed in. Then put a scrambled or soft-boiled egg on top. YUM.1

1 carb protein waffles are my go to. It's just 1 scoop of protein, 1 whole egg, cashew milk, and a dash of baking powder stirred to consistency and cooked in a waffle iron. It's definitely not actual waffle texture, but for 1 carb and 30g of protein it's pretty darn good. If you want the official recipe just google 1 carb pescience waffle and you'll get a ton of results.8

What brand of protein powder do you use?
I use pescience brand. I sometimes use cellucor as well, both are great for baking.1 -
Fage 0% greek yogurt and protein powder(any flavor).

7 g mini chocolate morsels

Love my powdered peanut butter with my frozen banana and almond milk. Add in spinach and some chia seeds or flax for omega and such and it's a quick out the door drink. Looking to add a veggie powder from doTerra. Will have to report back on taste.3

Love the sound of the banana, pb2 and almond milk! Would add the chia, maybe a bit of chocolate or cocoa nibs but not so much the spinach to that combo. LOL1 -
@jopalis - Unless you really hate spinach, you might consider reconsidering. Raw baby spinach won't change the taste much but adds tons of good nutrition. But then, you might not want to listen to me because I drink spinach smoothies *all the time*0

I switch it up I make cloud bread. You can use them in SO many ways and they have almost no carbs. I have made sandwiches, pancakes with berries on top , and pizza with them.1

Does anyone have ideas for high protein, lower carb breakfasts. The only thing we have time to prepare in the morning is oatmeal and an egg. Very boring! I need some recipes that are quick, easy and doesn't contain meat. Thank you.
My quick breakfast is most often a bowl of cereal - cold as in corn flakes, weetabix, cheerios with milk; not cooked hot cereal like oats. Looking back at my chart now I can see that's more carbs, less protein.
Eggs and cheese would be less carbs and more protein, but if you use them with bread or toast as I usually do, you're adding back carbs again.
Would you use meat substitute products such as Granburger? Not much carb and high in protein. A few others around but they tend to also have high carbs along with the higher protein.0 -
Do you have to eat breakfast food? Sometimes I just eat leftovers from dinner. Had a meatloaf sandwich this morning and green beans.2

Good point. This happens in our house too sometimes. My wife and daughter do this, but me and my son seem stuck on "breakfast" stuff for breakfast.0 -
I use one piece of low cal bread toasted, hot sauce instead of butter and a Sunnyside egg on top, chopped green onion, half or quarter serving of goat cheese and a few more drops of hot sauce and some pepper. Break open the yolk and eat with a knife and fork. It is delicious and filling.4
