First pic taken March 2013, with my hours-old grandson, weight somewhere north of 268 lbs.

Left was July 2015 @ 242 lb. Right is August 2016. -74 lbs in 13 months. Just did my first triathlon and won my age group! (50+)

@Kennyyoli - thank you for the post. Incredible achievement for you. I have to ask - did you feel like 200lbs was some sort of hard-limit you may not get past? Were there any mental blocks you had to overcome?6 -

I didn't really have any blocks per say. I was just sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I have two young children (9 & 3 yrs) and was on blood pressure meds, and had a bad back which was limiting me with my activities with my family. The picture on the left was the picture that made me do something about it. I didn't like what I saw. I also didn't like that that picture was taken at Disneyland, and I ended up flat on my back in the hotel room for 1/2 the time we were there with my back completely out, and in pain.
Along the way, whenever I needed a reminder, I would just pop up that picture, and hug my kids, and go on a run or bike ride...lol
If I was offering advice, I would say the thing that helped me the most actually two things. First was weighing myself once every other day, in the morning when I wake up. I was weighing myself 2 or 3 times a day in the beginning, which was a rollercoaster ride. I'd be down a little, up a little, and it was constantly messing with my head. Every other day satisfied my curiosity, and offered more consistency. Second thing was logging my food. It kept me honest with my calorie intake. Get a scale, and weigh your portions. Be as accurate as you can. Labels on food can be deceiving as well.
200 lbs was more of milestone than a roadblock. I had a little "pause" in weight at around 194 lbs, but I didn't freak out. Just kept on my program. As I got lighter, my weight loss slowed down, but never really stalled.

Thank you for the feedback Kenny. Much appreciated! My scale hates me. It's stupid. I lose and gain 4-5lbs every other week it seems. But I'm lifting weights quite a bit, so I really try to avoid putting much stock in the raw numbers. I weigh everything except the protein bars and what-not like that. I over-estimate calorie content via MFP database, and I under-estimate calories burned through work outs - both by about 10-15%. I go through some frustration feeling lots thinner but seeing the scale stay put. I trust the process though. I know I'll break 200lbs eventually - whether it takes me six months or six years I'll keep at it.10

Love all the success stories here! Everyone who has lost, no matter how much, has made a great achievement! Still a ways away from my goal but I'm definitely not where I started last year. Down 42 pounds in 9 months ^_^

Highest Weight 236lbs current weight 175lbs 61 lb loss! I feel fantastic at 50yrs old now, in my before pic I was 43yrs old. (and I'm a grandma)
