Bought a size medium top yesterday!22

I went canoeing for the first time with my husband today. I'm not a great swimmer so don't do a lot of water activities, but finally felt "balanced" enough to do it. Maybe that doesn't make sense but after losing weight and building strength, I feel more in control of my body.42

Last night I ate and drank (hello whisky & coke) triple my calories, played video games with friends until midnight. I don't feel like sabotaging myself today. In fact I'm cooking spag squash for lunch and getting ready to take the kids hiking with those same friends. Last night happened, and I logged it and now I'm relieved to be back to normal. And it feels good that my normal now does NOT look like 3,000 plus calories
I used to mess up once and quit or beat myself up for days. Now I'm just thankful that's not my regular diet anymore and ready to smash my goals!39 -

It wasn't long ago when I started and I'm just super excited 'cause I've never finished an entire program. I've read about you guys finishing but I just didn't know I would be one of those "super humans" lol It's just me and I did it!!! I swear it's starting to sink in and I wanna run and jump like a crazy person 'cause I DID finish!!!
My friends and this thread really kept me going and I just can't thank you enough!!
Love this!!!!!!!!!!

When kayaking yesterday in the ocean. I could get in and out of the kayak with no problem had no back issues and there was a nice wind and a strong current. I wasn't even tired after I did it.

I need new glasses.
They once looked small on my face but after losing 135lbs, they now look huge on my face.
Shame, because I really liked them . . .22 -
There was a picture of me taken at an even at school and I don't hate myself in it!!!
Edit: it's actually my display picture now.
THIS. I was a BBQ last night with all of my friends and for the first time I didn't hide from them taking pics. My friends take a crazy amount of photos, it's actually quite amazing how I've managed to avoid being in the majority. But last night not only did I embrace it I didn't cringe when I seen them on FB. Go me.16 -
Cleaned out my garage this weekend and am organizing a group of women to lift at my house two nights a week, starting tomorrow. Excited to up my training and to help other ladies get into lifting!

Love this! Last time I went kayaking, I was 83 lbs heavier and I humiliated myself by announcing "I'm going in now!" I meant going in to shore, but of course I went in the drink instead and bobbed there upside down till I eventually popped out of the kayak. Until I read your post, I hadn't even thought about kayaking again...but maybe I should consider it. :-)15 -
I have kept a pair of pants for 33 years because I've always hoped that one day I'd be in shape again like I was when I was 24. Even when I weighed 232 pounds I didnt give them away. I kept them on the top shelf in my closet as a reminder of who I once was. That person was lost, but never forgotten. I tried them on this morning and they fit.92

YESSS!!! You must post a pic. We all want to see these pants. (Or maybe it's just me)16 -
Just tonight, could wrap my towel around my body again.29

I have a box of clothes like that in the attic - from the mid-1970's. I am waiting until I'm at goal to get them but I'm very curious to see how those size 7's compare to today's size 7's. I was 110 lbs then and from what I'm reading about vanity sizing, those clothes won't even been close to today's sizes.4 -
I ran a Spartan Sprint yesterday. It was my first one, and I did better than the guy that talked me into doing it. I only failed two obstacles. The spear throw, and some goofy hand over hand monkey-bar-like thing at the end when my body was rubberized misery.23

I just love reading this thread: the physical milestones but esp the mental ones!! Kudos to everybody!!
I've got a several. I ran for 15 mins straight!! I couldnt even do 1 min 6 months ago. I played sports in my spandex pants in front of people for the first time and DIDN'T feel self conscious! (actually, I kinda rocked them imho). People are coming to me for weight loss advice.
And lastly (I didnt expect this at all!) I love my newfound curves! Before I had fat curves and resented them, but now I have a defined waist and hips and womanly curves... and I love them! I have an hourglass figure (me!!).38 -
I went to the Fair yesterday, a September tradition. Usually I look forward all year to eating all the totally unique fair foods - maple cotton candy, maple fudge, nacho french fries, funnel cake with fruit and sugar, roasted corn, cream puffs and eclairs, build-your-own burritos...you get the idea.
I went with my husband and daughter and they both indulged, but I ate lunch before we left and didn't eat anything while we were there.
I was feeling hangry and sorry for myself and was generally in a bad mood by the time we got home. Instead of blowing it though, I made a high protein snack and then indulged in some homemade baked fries instead. It wasn't fair food, but I made it through the day.
I did go over my calorie goal that day by just a little, but weighed in today and managed to lose weight this week anyway!29 -

I too am very curious to see what size I am at goal compared to 20 years ago.3 -

Sadly I don't have this issue as I've been overweight/obese my whole life. I don't ever remember being a normal weight and there are no photos of me as a normal weight child, just a fat one.
However, I am now a lot smaller than I was 20 years ago, heck I'm a lot smaller than when I met my husband 28 years ago. He now comments every time I announce a weight loss that he's never known me so small (love him )
Anyway, today's NSV (I try to find one every day; not always successful) - I'd done a long cycle ride this morning and burned off loads of calories so thought that I'd treat myself to a small packet of crisps (18g, less than 100 calories) with my lunch. Except when I went to eat them I realised that actually, I didn't want them so I put them back and had an apple instead.
When I started my new lifestyle, end of July 2015, I'd have scoffed two big packets and thought nothing of it

I started riding my bike everyday this year on May 3rd. I have now biked 139 days in a row and Sunday passed the 2000 mile mark. Hoping I can get to 200 days(mid November) before the Iowa weather makes biking outside impractical.30

When my husband and I walked by a trendy store. I commented on a top I liked. He said "As fast as you are losing inches you will be shopping there soon!"24

I've had a package of cookies sitting on my counter for 9 days now and it's still almost full... They were an impulse buy. Thought I wanted them. Turns out I was wrong.29

I have a couple! I'm adventuring into baking and cooking with almond flour. On Saturday I made my first batch of low carb almond flour pancakes - I liked them better than the cream cheese pancakes! I had them with 4 pieces of bacon and 3 small sausages. Best breakfast I've had in awhile and I didn't feel hungry after that until 6pm. They were very filling. I also made a new turkey meatball recipe on Sunday that turned out pretty good. I have to wear leggings under my pants so my pants stop falling off me. Lol.14

I had to buy new smaller socks this weekend. SOCKS!! I have already had to tighten the laces on all of my shoes but it never entered my mind that my workout socks would be too big after I lost 10 lbs. My mom always said, "Well, everyone's feet get wider as they get older- it is just a part of aging." Guess what - my feet got FATTER as my body got fatter. And they get slimmer as I lose weight.

mine is strength related. my son is 5 and weighs 68 pounds (a 6'4" father will do that!) and i realized last night playing with him that i can pick him up cradle-style and toss him in the air and catch him. i also can toss him over my shoulders and do squats with him. he loved most when i twirled him backwards to set him back down. no panting on my part either! wow!!35

An amazing weekend!
1) Did over 41k steps (18+ miles) in total on Saturday (including my early morning 5 mile "walk" which was at least 1/2 jogging/sprinting).
2) Did over 30k steps (14 more miles -- including at least 2 miles running/jogging) on Sunday. Love the amount of energy I now have.
This from the couch potato that used to sit and watch tv for six hours every evening and could never drag myself out of bed before 6:30 in the morning. Now I'm bouncing out of bed at 5am to get in a good walk.
3) I'm also learning Tai Chi and in one semester learning the 37 short form, I've made it up to Crossing Hands and there are still two more weeks to the semester so I might learn a bit more. I'm absolutely loving the class and all that it does in helping me continue my goal of being more active and connected to my body.26 -
I had a long weekend vacation planned this last weekend and planned to indulge. While I did do that, I was amazed at how my new healthy lifestyle shines through even on a planned indulgent weekend. For example, every meal I ate until full and had at least a half a plate left - I didn't feel the need to finish and feel stuffed for the rest of the night (old me would have done this!) I also kept up my water intake and increased my activity (even a 4 mile beach walk one of the days). And today (Monday) I got right back onto my normal, healthy schedule!29

Went for the Sundae rather than the banana split, half the ice cream, half the calories, and feeling full. I can only imagine how icky I would have felt had I gone with the banana split as planned.14

After today's workout, I was able to touch my toes during my cool down stretches! I can't remember the last time I could do that!24
