That's really incredible!!!2 -
I had a every day customer I have at my work compliment me, he said in a nice way, damn girl your melting off like butter! Hahaha!14

I woke up and hit the gym on Sat for the first time.....and I LOVED IT!!
My husband asked me if I wanted Olive Garden today when I got home. I was so close to saying yes and eating that one meal all day. Then I said you know what? No. I don't want to be hungry all day for one delicious meal. And I need my protein shake within an hour of lifting which I wouldn't get to have if I said yes.
May seem small but today I feel strong! The weekends always test me.29 -
I've only recently started following this group and I love it! Everyone is so positive and that's the kind of stuff I need to hear. I am SO done with toxic people!
Here's my NSV for today.....I have registered for my first 5k run for next weekend. So far i've made it to 4.5k around my neighourhood. This morning I figured i'd run the race route to see how I do. Oh yeh.....5 km in 40 minutes. To put that in perspective, I'm 57 years old and could barely run 30 seconds when I started C25k. And 2.5 years ago I weighed 232 pounds. I'm feeling pretty happy31 -
I write a health and wellness blog, and this week was the first time I felt confident enough to write about my philosophy relating to food, eating, and losing weight.21

I know what you mean. It was so surprising and it made me feel really good. It's so nice to have his support and motivation. I don't always notice the changes but he does.1

My crack doesn't show any more when I bend over!
This is a big deal for me because I have always been known as the guy with the long crack. People would tease me and say that I should have been a plumber. I didn't even know this was because of my weight.21 -
So on Monday I was all feeling good because my pants felt loose only to find out once I got home from work that they were actually ripped on the waist band. BUT today I put on my jean shorts and no pinches!!!! I'll take that validation!11

I went shopping yesterday to buy one outfit that fit me. I come out in Jean going to buy them and the girl says they are way to big. I go down a size come out and she asked if I changed them. she brought me another size smaller. I looked at them thinking no way they would fit and they did. I've gone from a tight 20 to a loose 16. almost out a tje plus size store yay!!!!! I've been forced to buy those ugly unflattering clothes for 15 years.32

Am I being picky should I be happy with loss
Sounds like you are thinking about recomposition. Nothing wrong with that. If you can manage the trick of loving yourself and respecting your body no matter where you are in your journey, it certainly helps.
ETA: Congrats on the 36lb loss!!!
Love this thread so motivating6 -
Had to buy a couple new dress shirt yesterday. What I thought was going to be a quick trip in and out of the store to buy him turned into a fiasco as I had to go to 5 different stores to find them. Used to wear a 17 1/2 neck with a 36 inch sleeve length. Now I'm down to a 15 1/2 inch neck and the cut has to be slim fit and it's hard to find them in that size.17

Even if I have more than enough room in my macros I think I'm loosing interest in junk food I find that I no longer want it (:16

Went window shopping a couple of days back, just browsing around my usual department store to see what's new. I found myself automatically drawn to the plus-sized area, and it was odd to realise that nothing there will fit me now. It was both pleasing and also sort of sad... I guess it was like saying goodbye to a larger me that I've known for many years.
Along the same lines, when hubby and I were in a shopping mall last week we were commenting on the fact that at least 2/3 of the stores seemed to be boutiques and wondering why so many clothing stores were necessary. I suddenly had the thought that one day I'd be able to shop in them if I wanted to - I probably wouldn't (most looked expensive!), but it's nice to know I'd have the option!
(The only store hubby is looking forward to me shopping in is Victoria's Secret... )

I noticed yesterday that with my only pair of shorts, the legs that were once 3 inches above my knees are now 7 to 8 inches below my knees. Halfway down my shin. Starting to not be shorts anymore.17

I'm no where near skinny yet but I have lost some weight and my body feels a lot different and I look quite a bit thinner than I did starting out. It was just nice to know that working so hard is working and it's noticeable.
That's so cool! My husband will say I'm "svelt" and "sleek" but he's never used the word "skinny". Somehow those other words don't have the same ring to them...
Does he know you'd like to be called skinny? My husband would never call me skinny as he knows I don't want to be skinny. He does call me slim or slender and I like that. Some people consider "skinny" to be an insult maybe that is why he never calls you that.
Good point! I hadn't thought of that. I asked him about it and it turns out you guys were right, "skinny" does have negative connotations in his mind, which is why he's never called me that. Interesting!

I bought a sweater with cut out shoulders and my arms are not bulging around the sleeves15

I went on a European two week vacation and didn't overeat every day. I consumed bread dipped in oil, cheeses, paella, creamed dill potatoes and only gained 5 pounds. I was very careful with my wine consumption and didn't miss that one bit....
After 5 days home and resuming maintenance, I'm back down to my pre holiday weight.
The photos of my trip made me realize I don't need to lose any more weight. I had been thinking about dropping another 5 pounds, but I now know I shouldn't.
A weight has come off my shoulders.... I've been trying all summer to drop those pounds and now I realize they aren't droppable unless I lose part of a limb.38 -
Went on a 25-mile bike ride today, with my husband. I had to keep stopping to allow him to catch up with me. In all the years we've been cycling, he was always the one who went faster than me
The other fun thing that happened was that I was "flashed at" by one of those "slow down" signs that detect your speed when entering a speed limit zone (30mph). I didn't realise at first that it was ME that was exceeding the speed limit (35mph on a bicycle, down a very steep hill, brakes didn't stand a chance) and looked around to see the idiot in a car who has no respect for motoring laws. Once I realised the sign had flashed at me, I laughed hysterically all the way to the bottom of the hill. People must have thought that I was crazy, especially as it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale at the same time . . .41 -

Where I live there must be a minimum speed that those signs register, b/c I ran by one a couple of times a week for a while and then one day - it showed MY speed!!! Just seeing it made me *feel* faster.13 -
Was feeling a little down today after eating football food all day yesterday. Read this thread and wanted to do better. We used to always order Chinese delivery on Sunday's but stopped to make healthier decisions. Tonight we really wanted it but instead of wonton soup, an egg role and white rice covered in duck sauce and soy sauce, I ordered egg drop soup, chicken on a stick and steamed veggies and shrimp without sauce. It was yummy and satisfying and I am proud to make another healthy choice!21
