I think all the MFP posters should be cast in the next movie. Shall we vote?

OP, could we audition cyberly if we promise to use our real, unedited headshots? As the producer, do you make casting decisions?

He's an executive producer. Which means he gets his own chair on set if he gives them money.

I would really love to become an executive producer myself. What are the skills, the education and the practical steps involved in becoming one?

Executive producers don't do anything but give money to the film in hopes of a return. Anyone that tells you different is trying to take advantage of you. They also don't decide shjt for the film. I hate Hollywood pretenders.

You seem to know a lot about these show business folk, and their wicked ways...

I do. But I never went that route because I don't want drama. ;)

@newmeadow .. Becoming an executive producer is one who invests in money towards projects. I became that because I am passionate about films, especially acting. Film makers make most of the money, which is why I became an executive producer to produce my own films.

Don't listen to people that tell something on somewhere they have never gone. It's all about being smart at business. There are formulas to helping films be successful, so your chances of distribution would be picked up by the distributers, such as Lionsgate, Paramount, etc., etc....

The game has changed so much especially with new digital distribution platforms. Of Course Marketing has the biggest part to play for that.

You always want to stay under budget so you wont loose money. You want to make money. Films are usually bought at about close to a million from distributers. So you dont ever want to invest no more than $300,000 to produce a film. Trust me you can get some quality films made at that budget and name actors.

The key is that you must be passionate and smart about it.

Again don't listen to people that tell you about something they have never even experienced.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I had two roommates.

One got a role as a cadaver in a morgue. They pulled out the drawer, turned back the sheet and said: " that's him."
the other actor then flipped the sheet back over his face and closed the big metal drawer. That was the end of his acting career. He is now selling software in Boston.

My other roommate was a struggling writer. Three years after I moved out, he was nominated for an Academy Award of best screenplay.

My claim to fame? I crashed my bicycle into the film set of a coke a cola commercial at the beach.
    Nobody was happy....
