We had just been to visit my daughter (who has always been very small) and when we got home I saw a new pair of my jeans when I was unpacking and they looked like my daughters size, I was concerned I had mistakenly brought home a pair of her jeans, I had to check the tag:).18

It takes me ages to sort the washing now as I have to check the sizes; my underwear is getting to be so small that it's bordering on my (very petite, teenage) daughter's sizing.

An acquaintance/friend who is a personal trainer-and I were talking about my journey. She said that it looked like my body fat was now at a healthy level. I laughed and lifted a corner of my shirt and pinched a roll. Nope. Not there yet but HEY with clothes on I can pass! For me that is a victory!28

Back in the gym after two weeks off for the complications of work and ragweed allergies. Lost about 15% off my lifts.7

I was able to twist a lot further in my yoga class this week. I also had to buy all new belts.
The best one this week: my sister gave me a beautiful necklace for Christmas a few years ago. I had to wear it with an extender because it did not fit my neck. I was finally able to wear it without the extender. The necklace means a lot to me because I am very close to my sister.
Hope everyone has a great week!25 -

ugh, moms! i try not to talk to mine about the process but sometimes i break down because she asks about a million times "have you lost any more weight?" or she'll say something like "i didn't know if you were still trying because i saw you eat a cookie the other day" she has always defined her worth and mine by appearances and would tell me since grade school that nobody would love me if i didn't lose weight. it's hard to separate her issues from mine sometimes.
Oh that sounds exactly like something my mom would say!! LOL4 -
I'm wearing boots for the first time this fall and they fit so much better! No more wide calf boots needed for me!19

I've had to retire all but two pair of dress slacks that I wear for work. I don't quite fit into the next size down because I've lost weight everywhere but my thighs. I've had to resort to wearing skirts and dresses. The positive nsv that I'm taking away from this is that I am shrinking slowly but steadily.17

I am wearing a skirt for the first time in about 3 years. I quit wearing them because I felt like I had to wear a super-baggy overly long top with any skirt, to hide my lapping-over gut and the odd butt/hip shelf I had somehow grown. I'm nowhere near my goal weight but my gut is less noticeable and the butt shelf has disappeared.15

Saw the PT I was working with for my groupon and he told me that I have a lot of muscle in my arms. I was telling him how I feel like my arms are fat, and he told me that it is mostly muscle. I felt really good about that.
WIth apologies for digressing from your excellent accomplishment, and yea, the whole point of this forum thread:
It makes me sad how many women go through this "arm fat" misconception.
It seems especially common with the supposed "upper arm fat" - you see women hold up their upper arm and wave it around to watch the "fat" jiggle . . . but if you ask them to flex, voila, most/all of the "fat" turns out to be nice firm triceps muscles.
Ladies, please - at least see whether your "fat" firms up when you tense/flex the underlying muscle, before falling into the "I'm so fat" trap. Let's get familiar with our bodies, recognize our muscles whether flexed or relaxed, and feel good about our accomplishments . . . just as @jdhcm2006 has led the way in doing!
(End of li'l ol' lady rant. Sorry.)
nope. still fat in my case. lol. but i totally get what you mean.
NSV - in the never-ending saga of me wanting to wear jeans that fit properly. Old Navy was having a sale this weekend and i grabbed a pair of 14's to see if they fit, then my friend said that this style runs small. basically if she's one size in every other pair in the store she has to size up for those. so i grabbed a 16 too. when i got to the fitting room i held up the 14's and thought "no way those will zip" so i put them in the "no" pile and tried on the 16's which were too big. then i tried the 14's just to see, then i bought them. there's some initial muffin top happening, but with any luck that will be alleviated by the stretching process when i wear them and the thinning process a few weeks from now.14 -
I have already punched one whole in my belt and now using that hole with old navy chino pants and once I wore them today they got baggy, going to look in my closet to see if I have a size 14 as I usually have 14s and 16s of most everything. Cant wait to donate the 16s permanently12

Sounds silly, but I can actually buy some clothes at Target now.22

Started at a size 18/20 at the end of June. I am now a 16/17 and I can officially run a mile without stopping! I also purchased 2 band t-shirts at hottopic in a men's size med which I've never done!!19

Grant it, there are far better than me, but I hit some new PRs today and reached old standards of when I was lifting a lot in my senior year of h/s (6 years ago).
- So.. 240lb leg press (best yet!!)
- 95 squat (no smith machine this time, this was a barbell. Aiming for 120 or so by end of October)
- 80 leg extension
- 65 leg curl (slacking, I know)

Most recent? Being able to jog 2 min/walk 1 min, and repeat for 10 minutes total. That's today.
Another recent that I'm ecstatic about is that when I first started at the gym a few months ago, I couldn't do but 3 minutes on the elliptical and my heart rate would be 150-155. Now (my speed is actually faster), I go about 20 minutes, and my heart rate is usually 120-125. WOO HOO!!21 -
I tried and HELD a HEADSTAND for several seconds on my FIRST try! Wouldn't have ever dreamed I'd be this fit again at 38!!31

In the past ~11 months I have lost:

Bicep: 2.5"
Forearm: 1.75"
Chest: 7.25"
Waist: 9"
Hips: 5"
Thigh: 4"
Calf: 1"38 -
I sorted out and tidied up our hall closet this morning, and found a coat lurking at the back which I initially thought was an old one of hubby's. I realised it was mine from about 10 years ago and tried it on just to see... it was unbelievably huge on me, which was a shock as at that time I was only about 20lbs or so bigger than now. I was thinking it might have been suitable to wear with room for a fleece or hoodie under it, but no. Far too big even with extra layers!
(On the plus side, I knew I had one winter coat I'd be able to wear this year but I found another one that now fits nicely too. )21 -
Two NSVs.
Firstly - Since 25 July - my first trip to the gym - I improved my 30-minute bike ride distance from original max of 10km, to last night's new personal best of 15.35km in the same time!
Also -
For the first time in about a decade - except when I've had to wear suits - I dressed casually with my shirt tucked in, just because I could. Also wearing slim-fit pants for the first time.

I finally dropped a pound on the scales yesterday after 4 weeks of no movement, but I also took my waist measurement and realized there had been some serious recomposition going on in that time--I'm 2 whole inches slimmer!25

several years ago I received a very nice jacket as a volunteer award but it was too small. Tried it on recently and it fits.
Still riding bicycle every day and am at 154 days in a row and hope to make it to 200 days (mid-november) barring weather making it impossible.

I was able to squeeze into a pair of size 8 boot cut jeans from The Gap this morning! Still can't believe it but so excited. I once wore size 18 jeans (before they became too tight). Looking forward to when I can pull up the size 8's with ease as opposed to the acrobatics required this morning.22

Went shopping with my SIL the other day and she said "I'm envious that you can just grab clothes and put them on and they look good on you"
That surprised me... I didn't even think about the fact that now I can walk into a store and know they will have my size.
Also bought size L tops the other day. Tried on XL and they were too big put on L and they fit perfect!16 -
Today a coworker told me my clothes were getting too big!12

I just posted this as my daily update, but I really am excited today.... There was a point in my life that I thought there is no way I would ever weigh 193 pounds, and as of today I have lost 15 pounds and I am excited to weigh 193 pounds. My profile pic is 3 years old after loosing 15 pounds, the difference is my starting weight was 193 back then. Over the last 3 years it all just crept up on me. This time I am doing it right, and enjoying the process. Today at lunch, I went to the store and bought a belt to wear with the dress I have on, because I felt frumpy. Well, I reached for the L/XL and the smallest whole was too big. YOUR F'N KIDDING ME, RIGHT. That's what I squealed in my head as I reached for the M/L. But you know what I got the S/M because it fit on the biggest whole and I can't wait to move it down more notches. (Granted I an wearing this high on my rib-cage, so no way it fits my actual waist, but who cares) Today I feel great about being 193 pounds. Hopefully after a hour of Camp Gladiator it will be 191 by the end of the week. One can hope!26

I'm wearing the suit I wore to get my first real job many years ago. It has taunted me from the back of my closet, perfectly pressed and unworn for so long, I became convinced it was an impossible goal. I don't quite get how it's fitting when I'm still much heavier on the scale than I was when I bought it, but I guess that's from all the exercise.15

Completed Week 5 Day 3 of C25K....20 min run without stopping!!24
