I am happy to share how I lost the weight. On March 9, 2016 I had gastric sleeve surgery. At that time I weighed 337lbs and I knew that I was going to die if I did not do something drastic. I have a beautiful little 3 year old girl who I was not going to let grow up without a mom, so I took action.
I know that weight loss surgery has a stigma, but it is honestly just a weight loss tool. My body does not physically let me eat and binge the way I used to. But, in addition I was forced to make some drastic life changes. I started with my diet. Today I eat about 90-100g of protein a day. This is such a change for someone who is a recovering carb addict! I eat very little if any carbs and/or sugar and I make sure to drink a minimum of 64 oz of water a day.
For exercise I started out by walking. I slowly increased my distance to the point I was walking 3-5 miles per day. Now I am training for a half marathon and lift weights 2-3 days per week.
I still have 35lbs to lose before I hit my goal weight of 175lbs (I am 5'11") but I am sure I will get there soon.
If anyone has any questions about gastric sleeve surgery or anything else, please feel free to ask!28 -

What an amazing job! I know that the surgery has a stigma, but some people need that extra help. And some people do not succeed at keeping the weight off and fall into their old bad habits and/or get sick. So, kudos to you! You are an inspiration to someone (me ) who has to lose about 30 lbs just to feel comfortable in my own skin again. I need to follow suit and start exercising more and eating less (and cutting down on the booze... I just wish it wasn't so much fun!) Thanks for posting! You look amazing!0

You are an absolute rockstar. I love your new hairstyle, too!
Unfortunately, weight loss surgery does have a stigma, but usually because people are completely uneducated about the process and how much effort is required. Thanks so much for sharing and I know you'll continue to do AWESOME!0 -
Amazing! So awesome for your future! With the surgery how many calories a day do you eat then?0

Wanted to answer a few questions. I have used MFP very consistently since June. It is a huge part of my success.
I have hit plateau's. Typically they happen when I am not being as strict with my diet. Protein really is key. When I up my protein, the pounds start to come off again.
In a typical day I eat between 800 and 1200 calories. I know that is not that many, but each of those calories is carefully thought out and full of nutrients that my body needs.1 -
Such an awesome job! Congrats on your transformation and the great example you are setting for your daughter0
