Biggest blunders you've done?

My biggest blunder probably was not being completely and totally honest in my food diary. Realizing I'm only cheating myself was really tough to accept, but it's made all the difference. Everything goes in, no matter how horrifying I think it is at the time. And that accountability actually helps me make better choices when I think about what my diary will look like at the end of the day.12

Trying to do a move I've never tried before on my pole. I slipped right off too. I had a nasty bruise for days. I should have known better b/c it's a move that you rest the bottom of your foot on the pole, and pole always makes my feet sweat like crazy. That was all on me.
I have some friends who are strippers and do this kind of dance for a living so I asked... What they tell me is that certain types of stripper shoes give you good "stick" to the pole. It would have to make contact with at least some of the side of the shoe to work tho because the sole and heel of any shoe is going to be hard, especially the arch part. Those clear ones that basically have plastic uppers are the "stickiest" IMHO. Patent/shiny probably works too. Fabric uppers would be the worst.

Thinking that triathlon training would lead to weight loss.
Thinking that I deserved to eat because I swam, biked and ran.
Truth was I just needed less damn food!
Wow, so simple.
This worked for my first triathlon....during the training. Problem was, I kept eating when the training was over.

Those look like Ellie or Pleasers. I love Pleaser shoes. My problem is I'm absolutely trash at walking in heels, lol, so it makes me self conscious b/c I'm afraid I'm going to fall an roll my ankle. But thank you for that info, I always forget about how helpful heels are for poling. I have a pair of patent leather heels for pole, but I rarely use them b.c again, I suck at heels.

Governing my food choices solely on calories as well buying into the notion of there being "diet" foods. I'm more seasoned at it these days.0

I once thought a pizza crust serving was the whole crust, not a half crust---and I ate a whole pizza. I figured it out the next week when I was making another pizza (premade crust). What was done was done and I ended the week at a nice loss, so chalked up to better measuring next time.0

I bought a box of milkduds yesterday and realized that I may have no self control around milkduds. I ate 7 of them, put the rest in a sandwich bag and threw them literally into the back of the freezer. I am planning on eating 6 per day until they are gone and then I won't be making that mistake again.2

Buying my favorite candy for Halloween candy to give out to trick-or-treaters! Where do you suppose the leftovers went?? This year I plan on getting pretzels and some type of candy that I do not like!4

The biggest blunder I did repeatedly was by skipping my breakfast on a weekend when I expected to have a big restaurant lunch. I did have a big lunch, but then kept snacking and it turned into a bad day of too many calories. Sometimes it was below Maintenance, sometimes above. The corrective action was to have breakfast in reasonable fashion and lunch in reasonable fashion. The snack attacker doesn't stalk me when I treat myself well.4

It's hard to settle on just one mistake when I've made so many! My biggest mistake was doing a ketogenic diet clinic with severely restricted calories. I got to my goal weight but looked sick (and felt sick). Of course I gained it all back ... This time around, I've had a balanced diet with a calorie goal of losing 1-2 pounds per week and exercising.0

I'm a bit the same way... I'll skip a meal to make room or because I already ate a bit too much that day but I end up starving later because of it and making bad choices.1 -

I was really strict on my self and after two months one night I couldn't anymore and I just binged on cake and fried chicken. After that I realized I needed to be more realistic and I actually have a monthly cheat meal ( yes meal not day) where I eat whatever I want and don't add the calories to MFP. I don't want to know I just want to enjoy. I work out a little more that week and I still eat healthy the other meals that day.4

Convincing myself its "just coffee" and that is not too many calories, But it was a flavored latte with over 200 calories.4

My biggest mistake was quitting logging and tracking the LAST time I lost 70 pounds.5

Regaining the weight I've lost petrifies me. I honestly don't think i have the energy and fortitude to do it all over again and start from scratch.

Yeah, but that isn't "buying into"; but "misunderstanding". Nutrition matters AND calories count.
Different strokes for different folks.
Calorie counting/awareness was what initially set me on the course I'm on now, but ironically it was also my biggest blunder and needed to be dropped as I moved on.
With calorie counting, I was always thinking about foods, never ate enough, ate at wrong time, never felt satisfied, frequently being hindered from going out. The minute I stopped screwing with my eating behavior -- start eating satisfyingly per necessity and stop (reduce) when not needed -- the process became virtually effortless.

One of the things that I make sure I have in my wt control process is that it has to be (relatively) effortless. Almost like it's a natural thing to do or be. Like brushing teeth before going to bed. So, that's how my eating pattern is right now. The eating is balanced with the amount of activity.
My effort isn't spent on counting, controlling calories. It's spent on shaping my eating behavior. Identifying, resolving destructive eating issues.0 -

Yes, definitely always on guard, I had to work hard to drop every single kilo, and I'm still not there yet, and i have no desire to do it again. I've gotten rid of all my old clothes that don't fit me anymore, and i cant afford to buy new ones lol
I only had 30lbs to lose, that was a monumental task for me, I have huge respect and admiration for those who have lost a hundred or more pounds. I'm also new to this weight loss thing, i was skinny all of my life till i hit 40 (4 years ago), so there's probably a bit of resentment there too.5 -
Getting lean enough to bulk, bulking, and then not having the drive to actually cut. So now I'm just kinda chunky again. I long for that moment I was really tiny before the bulk. But I'm much stronger so there's that.

Being brain washed by herbalife, I'm totally healthy but my bank account suffered for a bit and I was sick of the disgusting unsatisfying taste and losing the same 5 pounds over and over again.6

Can relate!!! Everyone says gaining muscle is harder than cutting fat but it is SO MUCH MORE FUN that when it comes time to cut, the will is lacking.3 -
Not really understanding what this whole "cup" measurement was and how it related to solids. I assumed it meant something between a tea cup and a coffee cup. Was so shocked when I picked up a measuring jug with cup measurements in the US, gah!4

Yep. I had a BLAST in the gym while I was bulking. Then when it was time to cut I felt like...what's the point of this squat? What's the point of accessory work now? Snooze.
