Weirdest food you've ever eaten?

I'm curious.
I tried Escargot on a cruise ship and while it was not that bad, I would never eat it again. Just the thought alone makes me shudder.

The weirdest food does come from the sea doesn't it.. Unless we're talking about Mountain Oysters.
Was uni any good?0 -
Crickets, grasshoppers, ants. Nothing like being a troop leader and showing the boys what they can eat in the wild0

This store I visited sold cool ranch seasoned crickets. As much as my mouth watered for it, I couldn't do it.0 -
Crickets are an excellent source of protein. With enough of them you can make a good flour that can be baked with.0

Did you at least cook them first? Gross.0 -
blood cake. Scandinavian breakfast food my mom made for years, didn't find out what it was made out of until I was in my 20's

The texture is really weird - it was erm, squishy (the only edible part of a sea urchin are its, ahem, balls if you will as I found out later) Other than that it just taste like the ocean. Briney and slightly fishy but it wasn't bad.0 -

I don't fully regret looking it up. Just a little.kaylasaurus wrote: »iSquatForChickenNuggets wrote: »kaylasaurus wrote: »Uni! (sea urchin)

No matter how adventurous I am with food, I can never eat balls. If you would eat it again, I give you props!1 -

Fried up the crickets and grasshoppers. Made the ants into a chocolate bark type treat0 -

Conch is awesome when fresh and prepared correctly...I don't think it's that weird but I've traveled quite a bit in the Caribbean and the Caribbean cost of Central America where it's pretty common...I think it was best in St. Maarten where you can get a lot of French Creole food done up...
Sea Urchin Sushi (Uni) is also awesome...Octopus Sushi (Tako) is one of my favorites...
Probably the weirdest thing I've ever had that I surprisingly liked was Blood Pudding when I was in Scotland...and Haggis...didn't think I'd like either, but they were delicious.0 -
My wife's meatloaf.
.... don't ask.1 -
Blood cake? Is that the same thing as blood pudding? Like sausage made of pork blood?1

We need to do better than this...
We read a book about American pioneers, and they had several pages about roasting pig tails. My kids begged me to make them. So I did. I got this response from one of them - "this actually tastes good!"0 -

Oooh...I forgot, I rather enjoy Escargot...my wife and I go to this little French place here and get it...I want to try all of that other stuff except maybe not the squid ink...and maybe not the beetles (I've tried other bugs...not a fan)...and I don't think I could handle the grubs...
I try everything else though...Frogs Legs have been on my culinary bucket list for awhile....0
