i used to tell women "go into the restroom stand in front of the mirror, lean down. if you are happy showing the view, then do not be upset when others enjoy it as well" most of them came back with a red face and an extra button or 2 done up. others needed the hr people to explain sexual harassment to them. it is wrong to intentionally distract co-workers

i wore these too-tight leggings i don't usually wear on monday. went to gym. caught sight of reflected profile in mirror; thought wow, nice bum.

came home and realised the leggings probably have lycra built in. adjusted bum expectations, moved on.

wore sloppy non-squeezy regular pants on thursday, went to the gym. caught sight of reflected profile in mirror; thought wow, nice bum.

Went to try on my new tops today (which I'd purchased at the beginning of the week as all of my old ones were way too big for me) and found that they are all way too big as well, despite being the smallest size I have EVER purchased.

Now I have to return them and swap for a smaller size. And continue wearing my huge tops until I can get back to the shop.

Mildly irritating. But I'm happy about it. Ish.

Second NSV that I've just remembered - I was clearing out my clothing drawers earlier, to make room for the new clothes that I've now got to return. Came across a pair of trousers that looked absolutely ENORMOUS and before chucking them in the charity bag, had a look at the size.

They were a UK14; I was shocked that I thought that these were huge as once upon a time I thought that a UK14 was tiny (when I was a UK28/30; I'm now an 8/10). I'd have done anything to fit into a size 14 then. I wouldn't now though! Odd how perceptions change.

I bought a really cute, non-stretchy sweater size UK12 thinking 'one day this will fit me!' Went home, tried it on. It fit me.

I nearly cried.

Wore my "new" jeans out shopping yesterday (a pair I haven't fit into in about 9 years), and noticed two things.

Firstly they felt a bit odd around the butt and thighs and I couldn't figure out why at first - after a while I realised it's because they're a lot closer-fitting than I've been wearing and there isn't a bunch of spare fabric flapping around!

Secondly, I caught sight of my reflection in the doors of the chilled section and couldn't quite believe that I look sort of "normal" - as in I seem to be a similar size to a lot of other women, rather than "one of the really fat ones". I don't have a proper full-length mirror at home so it was the first time I'd got that good of a look at myself in these jeans, and I was impressed! I'm still far from slim, but I'm definitely seeing the improvements recently.

And finally, hubby mentioned today that my legs are looking a lot thinner lately, and also was pleased that he can get his arms further round me when hugging and can touch his elbows now!

I ran an 8k! That is a first.

I had an excellent binge tonight! Chips and salsa, pasta salad, deer sausage, burger, hot dog, corn dog, beer, and ice cream. The victory is that I'm not depressed about it. It was just one day and I'm happy to know that I will be back on track tomorrow.
