    Morning! Wow where is everyone?

I tracked and was under yea
    I walked 30 min yea
I didn't get my 10K steps in... :( in fact my sister is ahead of me. LOL

I don't have any good bean or lentil recipes. I love beans, but not everyone in my family does. I grew up
on navy beans..I might be going to back to that. LOL

@theslightedgeforever LOL I did the wild thing in my mid 20's don't want to go there again.

Okay I hope my friends stop by and say Hi.

cbabie How is your nighttime eating? When I meant go wild I was thinking about you choosing a different ice cream flavor lol I can see how your all or nothing thoughts trip you up. If the family doesn't like the beans or lentils then they can eat something else. Since you have never made the recipe yet, they just might like it. Go to Pinterest and search. Choose the first one that comes up. Add the ingredients to your next shopping list. Plan a time/day for you to cook.30-45 min out of your 24 hr day. You are doing it for your health.

gemwolf Good for you on consistent tracking. Yum beanies and weinies. Can you find a healthier recipe?

I walked today for 38 min. So that's out of the way.

Morning gals: I stayed within goals as much as possible. I had a pj & pie night at church last night. I took 1/4 servings of several things...it was good and I don't have any regrets. I think I am finding my balance.

didn't walk, couldn't get on the treadmill today, I have to be at church in 30 min and my DH just got up. :)
But I have been cleaning all morning, so burned up some energy there.

Stephanie, hope you did well with your trailer stuff!!
Peru: so sorry about your post. Come back today and share again.. :)
@trooworld love the recipe. I should share with my daughter. She love blackbeans!!
@theslightedgeforever I actually have been only drinking protein shakes all week, so it was good. I didn't even crave night eating. So I need to go and look at my protein, fat, etc and see why I didn't crave sweets.
@gemwolf110 Glad you are getting back to your old self!!

    okay gals gotta run.

trooworld That recipe sounds good. I will add the ingredients to my shopping list. Thank you for sharing.

peru I hate when I lose a post. Hope all is well for you.

stephanieo Sounds like you really used those muscles.

cbabie Yaaaay on finding your balance. How about on Sundays while your dh sleeps you could do a Leslie Sansone's Walk away the Pounds video on youtube. You could view that on your laptop or Ipad type tablet if you have one. There are 15, 30, and 45 min ones depending how much time you have. You don't need a lot of space.

gemwolf I love chili in cold weather. I like to make mine in my crockpot. yum with some cornbread. Although that gets me in trouble. Its hard to just eat one piece. Look at those steps. wow

    kim Welcome to the group

I exercised 4 days this week which was better than last week. So shooting for five this week.
Calories and carbs much better this week but I need more vegetables.

Just checking in to say hi real quick. Been a bit out of control with the eating...the whole "well, I don't have to go to WW and weigh in, so I'll just get back on track when I feel like it" thing. Well, that couldn't go on forever...I'm back on track. Ate good today, and had enough calories left to enjoy a small piece of a dark chocolate almond torte...still under my calories. Have my breakfast ready to heat and eat in the morning, and lunch ready to heat and pack in a thermos and go. About to pre-track it right now. I don't know if I mentioned I took on another class, so I'm teaching Monday too, as well as Thursday. Thursday is literally a 6 minute drive from my house...not sure how long Monday will take...I'm leaving early, but it's traffic time - only 28 miles, but heading INTO L A is not fun in the morning. The cold is much better; I still have a coughing fit here and there, but mostly when I get a face-full of dust or some other irritant.
I was teaching my students how to make a mind map. It's a research tool, and you can read up on it on Wikipedia (Mind Map). I decided that instead of a to-do list, I'd put down what I have to do today in the form of a mind-map. And it totally worked!!! I'm going to start using this tool more in my daily life, but I also want to sit down with it and use it to get to goal. What you are supposed to do with it is put the topic you want to learn about in the middle, and branch out from there. What I did today is put my "goal" for tomorrow (Going to teach my Monday class) in the middle, and then put all the things I need to do to be able to do that branching out from there. Then I put all the things I needed to do to be able to do each thing. Example: "Drive there" > Download an audiobook; Get gas in van; Clean out the van; put address in GPS. "Get Dressed" > Shower; Do Laundry; Lay out clothes for the morning; Pack a change of tshirt. Everything is in circles on branches. It's different for me, I like things in lists. This outline format could be done as a list, but I needed a change. I'll let you know how it works for figuring out how to attain my weight/health goals.
Off to bed...need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed to keep up with the kids!

    Morning gals:

I got up REALLY late, so I don't have a lot of time to post personals. I wanted to let you know that I totally kept eating sugar this weekend. :( But here is what I did this morning. I looked to see why last week was so successful for me. Well I ate A LOT of protein, hardly any fat and lots of Carbs..So I just went in and changed my goals and I am going to see this week if this is maybe the solution to keeping satisfied and not eating just to be eating.

@bugmom92 I will have to look up that mind map..sounds interesting
@theslightedgeforever I did enjoy my Sunday..it was good. I got to see my youngest daughter and we had some laughs.

Okay gals I have to run and go get my exercise on...

I am new here. I go to weight watchers mtgs. I just started last wk. I have a hard time with my food because I take 3 medicines that make me hungry all the time. I keep gaining wt every week. I never thought I would be at this wt. I need to read the posts on this thread and remember to post. I hope I can do. Thanks.

I can relate. Darn near every med i take says " may lose weight. And my body does the opposite. So I struggle to lose. I lose very slow. Like 1pound month. Can be very discouraging.

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all well.

@trooworld - I can't wait to try your black bean burgers, they sound awesome.

@gemwolf110 - Your fur babies are beautiful.

@cbabie - I really needed a timely reminder about making sure I am hitting my protein goals, so I don't over eat. Your post was a great reminder, thank you.

@bugmom92 - My girls use mind maps a lot and find them very helpful. I am list maker and had not thought to try a mind map. I will have to give it a try.

I made it through the trip. My son is happily married and I gained 3 pounds. We did pack a cooler with lunch stuff so that went really well, I had weighed, bagged, and marked everything I would eat. Thursday we had a picnic in Des Monies and took a mile and a half walk along the river afterwards. We also stopped at rest stops and got out and walked around. Thurs. night Hubby remembered an Italian restaurant that he stopped at several years ago in Liberty MO. He thought the girls and I might enjoy it. Oh ladies, that menu was the best food porn I have seen in a long time. And yes, I went astray. I had homemade spinach pasta filled with ricotta cheese ravioli in champagne sauce, followed by my kryptonite homemade tiramisu. The best I could do was leave a third of the tiramisu on the plate because I was full, so a small victory of not eating until stuffed. The hotel we stayed in in TX only had a setting area between the reception desk and the bar so most of our family visiting took place in restaurants and coffee houses. I tried to make healthy choices but I think they added up. Hubby and I tried to walk at least a mile and a half a day. The rehearsal dinner and wedding supper were meh, so I did really well there. The 18 hour drive Sunday/Monday back home was brutal. Between the sodium from the restaurant food and and sitting in the car for 18 hours I retained a lot of water. So I am hoping that the 3 pounds is water weight. Overall I am pleased at how well I did. I can see where I can do better the next time I travel. I need to figure out a way to deconstruct restaurant meals from local restaurants that don't have nutrition info. I need to make sure I take the time to do it instead of quick adding 3000 calories for a day because I am tired.

I hope everyone had a decent Monday and everyone has an awesome week. :)

bugmom Your mindmap sounds alot like my Trello I've used it for one week now and have accomplished so much more. I also want to figure out a way to use it

cbabie Just keep trying to figure out what works you. Sounds like you had some good family time.

karen Welcome to the group. I too am a slow loser. Mostly my own inconsistency. But I'm getting better at that.

byrd Welcome to the group. Maybe keep some cut up veggies around so when you are hungry, you are still eat eating but it won't pack on the pounds. Another trick is every other time you feel hungry, drink a cup of water.

gemwolf Couch to 5K. My nemesis. I renamed it Computer to 5K since I used to sit in front of my computer alot. Still haven't finished that thing. But I do get farther every time.

mysticlizard Congrats on your son. It seems like you and hubby did alot of things right by walking. I bet some of that weight is sodium bloat.
    t
trooworld Good for you for being tired but still getting in your workout.

I spent the day at a friend's house in the next town over. I exercised before I left. Did a 35 min walk. But went over calories. I really could have made better choices. I will use this as a learning opportunity the next time I visit her.

    Morning gals:
I fell off my goals last night...yesterday was the first day in our new building. It's beautiful, not practical. I was totally off my game all day and the night showed it. I have made some plans on how to overcome my new work environment. However, that being said today is another important day and I might not stay the course..I might have to find that bowl of popcorn to keep eating...LOL

I didn't get to walk, or anything yesterday it was a total bust! When I looked at my protein levels I know why I failed. So it's wisdom that helps us get to the next level.

Hi everyone, Still tired from the trip. Ran all day trying to catch up. Not a particularly good day. Tomorrow I will try harder to be more attuned to me and getting my exercise and eating right.

@cbabie - I feel for you trying to settle into your new work environment. Hopefully in a few months you will be settled and feel like you have always been there.

@stephanieoney21 - I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

I hope tomorrow is a grand day for everyone. :)

Gals, I am behind in almost everything. I binged last night watching the election. I had a rough day at work, but I think that today I am on track. I have a new challenge on another site, but you know it's all about motivation. What is your motivation to get healthy and stay healthy? There are days I say Why? I see others that "seem" to be enjoying their lives..but you know we have no idea what's going on behind that smile. I challenge you today to
find something in your life to be grateful for, to keep you moving in the direction of health and never never give up.

I too binged watching the election returns and didn't log it. I was a bit down this morning. I read cbabie's post and I kept thinking about it, as I went from task to task. I do have much to be grateful for and I can count my blessing quickly. But what motivates me was a much harder question for me. I can say I am motivated because my health and my family. But truly what is motivating me right now is very shallow, I want to look good again. My hubby and children love me the way I am, but I want to look good, or as good as a 51 year old can. So I got it together, logged my foods for the day and exercised. I started to do strength training again as well as my walking. The strength training was something I had not done since Sept. Figuring out what motivated me motivated me if that makes any sense.

I hope all you ladies have a wonderful day tomorrow. :)

stephanieo Yaaaay on your 10000 steps

cbabie That's good that you are on track.Motivation....I'd like to live a long life disease free.

gemwolf Great reasons for wanting to get healthy and stay that way. Yaaaay on your steps.

mysticlizard Nothing wrong with being shallow and looking good. I missed my 30's and 40's looking good because of being fat. I do not want to blow away my 50's. Going to the mall is a motivator for me I see all the cute clothes wishing I could wear them. I'm working on being consistent in my strength training too.

I ate some lentils the other night and this week and I'm going to try and make mexican burrito boats using black beans and corn with acorn squash and going to try Trooworlds black bean burgers

I'm still working on my Trello Getting to Goal board. I'll post a pic of what I've got done so far.

This is my Getting to Goal board on Trello. How it works is when I complete a card on my Today list I drag/drop to Done

Breakfast list is done now I'm working on my snack lists for 100 Cals and 150 cals

I've been using Trello for two weeks in my personal life on my Kanban board and I'm forming new habits and getting things done. Its actually helping me be laser focused and just deal with three things that I need to do. As I complete one and move it to the done list I just add another card.

    Morning!
It's cold in my house. I am sitting here in my work out clothes, socks on and my "bed jacket" Well when I finally get up from here and go walk, I will be sweating. So there!! I am so happy to see what motivates you guys..and yes I can say it's for my health and it is..but it is also when I see my daughters wearing those cute little things and I want to be right there with them. :)

Somehow I found myself eating 2 handfuls of cashews last night before bed. Well it wasn't ice cream. LOL

I am not giving up and pushing forward. I have a scripture on my wall that sometimes I forget to read and apply. So I run straight to the goal with Purpose in EVERY step! 1 Corinthians 9:26...we have to have purpose or we have no reason to live. That is where depression will get us and stop our moving forward. So run with purpose in EVERY step gals!!

    walked 30 min
didn't track or stay op (darn cashews)
slept 6 hours...wow that is golden for me

@theslightedgeforever I love your app, I am going to try to do this..but it looks like it takes a lot of time to set up, which is something I don't have right yet.
@gemwolf110 YEA great job on the steps!!! looks like your back in the swing of things.
@mysticlizard great job on thinking things through! Keep moving!

    Okay missing our other friends....
