Shakeology

Seriously, for the OP, Shakeology is poo. Do you want to be a person that overpays people with 0 fitness knowledge just to receive poo? Live by my motto - "Don't eat poo". It works.22

I didn't do Shakeology but I did Isagenix (no comments please - I don't sell the stuff) and I really liked it but the price just got crazy. I would love to be able to afford to continue one shake a day (breakfast) because for me it works for my gym before work lifestyle. I may try to continue to manage one shake a day at least on work days.0

Lol. Y'all should go start your own anti Shakeology thread
We are just trying to help OP not waste their money on a scam product sold by people who have no clue what they are tlaking about, thats why so many of them struggle to have long term weight loss and keep it off.
Shakeology is an overpriced protien shake that uses low quality protien, and all the super foods in it is just super bull.14 -

I tried Isopure Natural Vanilla. Lasted about a month and was like $50? I suppose that is a lot but now I'd be paying even more if I want to continue morning protein shakes. My body isn't tolerating the dairy and you get a lot less protein and a lot less product for the vegan powders... for a lot MORE money0 -

So I talked to two of my colleagues after I posted in this thread. The one person never bought the shakes at all. She loves the fitness program. She is religiously using that weird container system, but it sounds like she's making sound choices in what she eats and I think this person is also maybe weighing her food even though I don't think the plan suggests that. She has lost a considerable amount of weight and kept it off. The other person also loves the fitness program, tried the shakes, hated the shakes. She claims she's still using the container system, but she's actually put on weight and I got the feeling she's not adhering to their plan anymore.1

The problem is using containers isnt as accurate as weighing your food, also its not very practical. Its much easier just tracking everything you eat, and eating what you want.
Also i dont think anyone is argueing against the videos/workouts, so if those interest you i would say go for it.3 -
I am doing 21 Day Fix round 2. I like thinking of my food as "I can have 2 carbs, 4 proteins, 2 fruits, 4 veggies, etc per day." Much less tedious to me than counting calories. I tend to get to obsessed with calories. This helps me stay full whereas I would cheat myself when counting cals because I'd squeeze crap food in there and then be hungry quickly. I do drink Shakeology and I like it. I did not enjoy the vanilla. I love the Vegan Tropical Strawberry. I put half a banana in it and make it a slushy with ice. At first it took a while to get used to the aftertaste of Stevia but I'm used to it now. I have never done any other shakes before so I have nothing to compare it with. I do not eat soy so I am glad that Shakeology is void of soy protein. I will use it as a meal replacement on a night like last night where our family's activities were crazy and my family ordered a pizza. Pizza is not a love of mine and so wasn't worth it to me so I had my Shakeology with half a banana instead. I do not drink it everyday. I only use it when it fits into my plans for the day. In addition to Shakeology yesterday I had the Fugi apple chicken salad with one tbsp of dressing on the side from Panera (hold the cheese) and for breakfast I had eggs and bacon. I had a small piece of baguette with lunch which isn't exactly 21 DF approved but it was worth it to me to have non whole wheat bread because I really like it. I think I ate a snack yesterday but I'm having a hard time recalling what it was. I have lost 6 lbs over the past 4.5 weeks. Starting weight 157, current weight 151. It's working for me. I love the structure. It fits my needs. I love having Shakeology as an option when we have one of those days that falls apart and I need a quick substitute to what I planned. When I hit goal I will adjust my allowances to be at maintenance level instead of weight loss level. I enjoy my coach. I realize she isn't specifically trained to be a coach but that's ok. She is my accountability partner. And she's funny and smart. We are both physicians who left medicine to stay home with our children.2

I should also add that while I really like the work outs that come with 21 day fix I haven't really been able to do the cardio much. I developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot in August and I am in physical therapy for it right now. So I just started going on some longer walks again about a week ago. I have worked with the personal trainer for strength training or 2 1/2 years so I either work out with her or do the strength training DVDs with 21 day fix. I also do a stretching video that I found on YouTube. So my exercise has not been up to the point where it normally is. My activity level was never my problem. It was my food choices.2

Just want to point out... Isopure is just a brand of protein shake, it is not an MLM product like Shakeology or Isagenix.1 -

I started with the Cafe Latte flavor and I'm not super crazy about it, switching this month to Chocolate. Hoping that will be better. I've been having one everyday, I think I'd get tired of anything (short of pizza!) having it day after day. My coach is such a great cheerleader as well and very knowledgeable, so I super appreciate that element. I think if a person just got a random coach it could go poorly.
I haven't fussed with the portion containers yet. I like the idea of the eating plan though, I know I too tend to fill my calories with junk whenever possible.
It's a lot to take in when getting started, but I'm hoping it goes well. I started on T25 which has been kicking my butt since I'm not super coordinated1 -
If your coach believes Shakeology is a good product, she isn't knowledgeable.8

I started on it a couple weeks ago. So far I am liking the product as it does really fill me up & my cravings for junk have waned. It is very pricey, but for the moment am giving it a go. I do like the workouts that come with the program. It's nice to be able to workout whenever and wherever I am (travel a lot for work.) As for taste, it's not awesome but I don't know if any protein shakes are?
I'd be curious to here from somebody who's been on it for awhile. Not sure if it's a fad or if ppl stick with the program long term.
food does not have to be in a shake form, but i like it. great meal but not any heaviness. some nutrition i would not get elsewhere. different strokes for different folks. great we can all choose what we like and make it work!
You mean from eating real food?2 -

What are the benefits again?0 -
I was wondering when the coaches sales people would show up.
It's like saying "Beetlejuice" three times, LOL.
To the OP - Shakeology is a MLM product with a lot of bogus products touted as "superfoods". Superfoods is purely a marketing term and the efficacy of their claims is completely unproven. There are other products available in stores which are of better quality. The only person who truly benefits from Snakeoilogy are the ones peddling it.
[ETA:] Just in terms of credibility, its worth mentioning that there are absolutely no requirements for training, education or knowledge of health/nutrition to become a Beachbody "coach". The only prerequisite is that you pay your $39.99 fee and voila, you're a "coach"! So if one is going to listen to a Beachbody "coach" about health, fitness or nutrition, you may be taking the advice of a person who knows less about it than you do yourself. It would be worth asking them about their training, education and experience before automatically assuming they have any credibility.
Anyone credible, wouldn't be involved; in an MLM scam!0 -
We make our own shakes, I replace breakfast so i'm not "starving" by the time i get home for lunch, but hubby replaced a few of his daily meals by making dinner shakes...whatever i made for dinner he mixed up with almond milk & lost 65lbs1

It is known in the health care world that simple things like herbs can interact with prescribed medicines and other herbs. We are also learning from the media that many medications that were approved by the food and drug administration are known to cause serious health problems. I do not jump on the band wagon for every super food that is found because I know the studies are not reliable for how they interact with other molecules and body cells. I would avoid mixing things that you don't really know about, and start researching muscle and fitness guides about how to choose a good protein powder; and, then start adding in fruits and veggies that there is actually information on when wanting to make a super food smoothie. Then, you can change your ingredients often so that you don't get a build up of something that may be harmful to your liver, kidneys or other organs.0

I like shakeology. I don't sell it, but I have one almost every day. I usually have it before I workout in the morning, because it's not too heavy for intense cardio, and because I have 3 kids in school and sometimes it's the only thing I have time for in the morning. Yeah, it's kind of spendy, and I hate how most coaches glorify it so much, but it tastes good, increases my protein for the day, and helps me out in the morning. Also, if I am having crazy sugar cravings in the evening, this will help take it away0

I have never done shakes/smoothies for anything other than breakfast. I loved them!!! I will admit though I've gotten away from them out of laziness but I need to go back so I get those added daily fruits.
I buy frozen berry mix at Wal-Mary or Sam's Club. I use a Nutri Bullet and fill it about 60% full with the fruit. I add one scoop of protein powder and for my liquid I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. They taste great!!!
Note: you will not catch me doing veggie smoothies. That's too over the top for me and I doubt I would like it.0 -

Since you mix it with fruit, have you considered other protein powders and save yourself a ton of money? I mean honestly, it's not even that good of a protein powder since it's a mixture of several kinds and whey has been proven to be the most effective.

add some veggies in with the fruit and protein. you wont taste them as much. I cant do a full fledged veggie smoothie either. I do add some greens to mine just enough but not too much to where I taste it over everything else.0 -
I like protein shakes as meals, but see no reason to get them through an MLM.0

I never said what brand protein powder is use so I guess I'm not following your line of thinking I say this because what I use is a whey protein isolate and when you break the cost down to a per scoop basis, it is really inexpensive. It's works out to be around $.75 cents per scoop and since I only use one scoop per day, that is VERY affordable.

Or you could use whey protien and get more protien, from a better source and way cheaper. Also do you know really helps cravings... enjoying treats in moderation.1
