I'm 49 had 2 babies by c-section lost 50lbs by calorie control at 47..weight trained and still do
I still have a small tuck over my scar, and a small amount of loose skin...I probably always will because I don't want to get too cut or lean as that's not my desired aesthetic ..but it disappears under pantline and in fairly small bikini bottoms23 -
Just wanted to thank everyone who is contributing so honestly, compassionately, and authentically to this thread. I have seen bellies that look like mine, and it's so liberating to feel like I'm not alone.
I will try my very best to contribute photos to this thread so it benefits other women...just have to be brave enough.

Love this thread. I was just looking at my apron this morning and worrying about how I will look after I lose weight. Thanks for everyone that showed their picture. Makes me feel less abnormal.
I tell you what, CroneStar... I know that my floppy, saggy skin is going to look a lot better tucked into my pants than my fat, saggy belly ever has... so, saggy or not, I am going for it!
I love this! You're so right, and I know I need to start reminding myself that way more often!!5 -
I started waist-training and use body shapers to keep it tucked away. I'm down -26lbs with 34 more to go but my shape is coming along. Here's a pic hope it helps

Thank you to everyone who shared in this thread. I've had three babies (my two boys and I was a surrogate for my sister who is unable to have kids) and also three C-sections. My biggest baby was 10lb 8oz. I have the tummy apron and seeing some of the pics here I am encouraged that with some hard work and commitment I can really improve it5

I thought I was alone in this battle. I'm so encouraged! This is the area that gives me the greatest stress and is a source of my self esteem issues. Every day after putting in the effort, I look at my apron and it just smiles back at me like its saying "I'm not going anywhere buddy". It's very discouraging, but the message I'm getting here is that I need to keep at it. I can't wait to share my success too !3

Here is mine....feeling brave lol I don't know what to describe my tummy as other than a hot mess really. I hate that my upper belly sticks out further than below my belly button. I have lost about 25kg half way to goal, it's shrinking but will never be gone, I'm ok with tucking a little in once shrunk but I have to wait and see currently in a very annoying and long plateau....
I have an upper belly too! I have never had one before In fact I always had an hourglass figure that gained in thighs in butt more than waist, but now I have a spare tire apple figure after 2 kids and countless IVFs. I didn't take any photos at my highest 262(postpartum) and I am currently 234 5'7", but I am hoping that by the time I get to my goal of 150 that it tightens up even though I am going on 47 years old and have a baby under 1yo. After my first child I was so upset when I got down 209 but couldn't wear the clothes I used to because of my apron. I couldn't button my pants and the dresses clung to the apron hang outline. I have to wear a corset on the lower apron and a waist cincher on the upper belly over a highline Cpanty base in order to smooth it all out. I only do this for special occasion dresses. The rest of the time I just wear loose things to hide it.
PS. I do lots of ab work (PT and pilates) and it has had no effect on the fat. I need to diet this puppy off.3 -
I'm down 60 today. I started at 294 and had weighed that for a year or two amd before that had been 240 for years and years. I noticed the hang after having kids. I still jave 80 to loose and I have seen a big improvement in tje lower apron with just 60 lbs lost. it bothers me the most out of anything as well. I'm not comfortable posting a pic but tje difference has been huge and I hope it coninues to decrease as losses continue.4

I had a bit of a tummy apron going. Still do a little bit but it's kind of covered by my pants in the last two pictures. Much smaller now though. Starred at 205 in the top left pic, down to 160ish in the bottom right.21 -
I'm not a mommy and I've never been one, but I do have a tummy hang. At my heaviest a whopping 365 pounds, my belly annoyed me more than anything. I'm down to 311 currently and it's really shrank quite a bit! All I do is walk and count calories. But for me, my abdomen is the first place I noticeably lose weight. I still have one and I hope to be rid of it once and for all, but for now, it's gotten smaller and that makes me happy.9

I'm 21!! and have had this issue since I was about 15! its the worst bit for me! especially removing the clothes, feel so disgusted. Every single person on this post inspires me so much! and maybe I can get it down to the lowest I can get,ill never get rid of it completely I feel so insecure, especially knowing ill have an apron that will probably hang so low after weight loss due to me being obese for a long time! I think the only option to get a flatter stomach for sure would be surgery for me! but with the cost that will be highly unlikely at least for a long time x2

I see it this way if its low enough you can always cover it up. even if you want a bikini get a high waisted one with a built in tummy panel.

you are 21 and have young skin so you may be ok. I am 40 weighed 294 for a couple years and 240 for 10 years before that. plus two pregnancies that i gaoned a ton. I have lost 61 pounds and have already seen a huge huge improvement. I still jave 70 pounds to go too. yli didn't expect to see the improvement I jave3 -
Thanks! Just me personally feel so ashamed! but I guess I just have to keep going and working hard! hopefully I can post a progress pic at some point1

I have noticed the biggest loss in my baby apron. I have huge babies and being overweight for 10 years has not helped. I'm close to a 20# loss and most of it has come off of my belly apron. Looking at one of my sister's that had the same thing I'm fairly certain mine will continue to go away as I lose. Her belly is squishy, but no apron anymore (and she's still technically overweight for her height).2

This is me all over...I hate my upper belly!
Here is mine....feeling brave lol I don't know what to describe my tummy as other than a hot mess really. I hate that my upper belly sticks out further than below my belly button. I am not a success but @embraceyourinnerbeauty I was 368 at my heaviest and am now 274 my tummy apron has shrunk in girth/thickness and it is shrinking upwards as well it used to be almost to my knees and now tmi you can almost see my lady bits. Had it since I was 12 and now 27 post 1 c section I hope this gives you some hope7
-
My belly is still far too big for my comfort (I have 20-30lbs to go after losing close to 50, but I still look pregnant if I relax), but it used to hang down and overlap the "lady bits" as @moodyfeesh14 put it.
Now it's definitely shrinking, and has actually 'lifted' enough that there's no longer any fold underneath - it just kind of sticks out instead. It seems to be the slowest bit of me to lose weight, but I measure regularly and I know I'm losing inches there so I'm hopeful that eventually it'll look a lot better!9 -

I am terrified of the damage giving birth to a full term set of twins (both six pounds each) and then soon after I got pregnant with another set of identical girl twins....I was huge fast with them but tragically lost them at 25 weeks pregnant. I have five living children. My body has been through. Lot and the mama jelly belly is so difficult to make smaller. I can see some damages skin already. I am worried. Here is my progress so far. I lift heavy, lift with Dumbbells and so cardio.
you actually look amazing. you can see the change.5 -

I realize, that I am not a woman, but this is something that actually prevented me from losing weight in the beginning. I thought I would rather be filled out, than have sheets of loose skin. I have realized, now, that I would rather lead a long, active, happy life, than go about my business, obese. I don't take my shirt off now anyway, so even with loose skin, that wouldn't be a change for me.
On some body building forums, I see pictures of these aprons, and I think most of them are residual fat reserves. I picture loose skin, as something I would see if I pinched the skin on my wrist, very thin, and maybe wrinkled, like a loose sheet.
For now, I have decided not to worry about my loose skin, until I reach single digit body fat, and then maintained it for 2 years. After that, then I will re-assess, and go from there.
Also, here are some tips I am using, to hopefully minimize it:
Lots of water, multivitamins, vitamins A, and E, take it slow, but even if you lose weight fast, your skin will catch up eventually. Shea Butter lotion, or other stretch mark cream, will probably help. I am also considering collagen, and gelatin supplements, but haven't tried them yet.7 -
I am back at the pic in the ash gray shirt however I am working my way down.
The red top is from many years ago after my first child and Jillian Michael shred w/ kettle bell. I'm working on being like this again and even better but one step at a time. I like to believe after having two girls (6, 3) and being obese at 5'4, that my apron will continue to decrease. Have faith ladies♥9 -
I took this one today i look awful but im not a morning person and since were all girls idc.

Idk why its sideways0

I have lost @115lbs and have seen substantive shrinkage of my apron, though I don't have pictures. When I started, my apron hung down about 2 inches below the natural start of my pubic hair. Now when I look in the mirror, the lowest point is above the start of my pubic hair.8

Here's my work in progress. I've always carried my weight in my torso. I'm also 8, almost 9, months postpartum from a c section delivery. I'm down around 40 pounds.
