Lemon water is a tasty way to hydrate. It is not a weight loss method.14
-
Try to think it through. With your common sense.21
-
It tastes good. It hydrates you. And when I was working as a nurse, many little old ladies swore by it to get their bowels to move.7
-
If you like it, drink it.
I imagine calorie count is next to nothing
But, No, doesn't magically do anything for weight loss.6 -
Don't try it, you'll love it too much. So refreshing. Get a food scale and count calories if you want to lose weight.3
-
When in doubt assume if it's easy it doesn't work.
Warm lemon water=easy=doesn't work since we have a global obesity epidemic which could be solved with lemons if it worked.6 -
How would drinking lemon water possibly make anyone lose weight? Unless you're replacing something high calorie with the water instead it Isn't going to do a thing for weight loss. But it can make water taste better and of helps you drink more water and you like it then nothing wrong with doing it.8

If putting lemon in your water inclines you to drink more of of it, hooray for better hydration.
Or you could take the money you'd spend on lemons, buy a food scale, log correctly, and lose weight.8 -
I've switched out from my 2 coffee with cream and sugar to hot water and lemon. It is said to flush things out of you (lemons clean well! ) but I don't know if it's true. What it does do is help me hydrate much more regularly, assisting in the weight loss. Also, coffe used to cut my hunger in the morning allowing me to put off eating breakfast til almost noon. Now I eat by 830.0

Coffee is also said to help you poop- so... But the water has less calories than creamer and sugar. I am not about to give up my coffee though.

It's a good mild detox. Also, if you're retaining fluid for any reason, it's will get the retention down faster. A natural diuretic.0

Looks like it works best if you drink at least 8 cups a day tho0 -
So I looked this up a while ago and websites claim it helps with weight loss but honestly I tried it and lost weight, but I also excercized a lot so it could have been from that. It might help mildly with digestion though0

It's water with a little vitamin C in it. Burning more calories than you need causes weight loss. Not water with vitamin C in it.
We can find pretty much anything on the internet.5 -

The website you linked is a retail site - they sell supplements. They want people to believe that ingesting the right nutrients will fix all their problems so they will click one of the numerous product links in that article and place an order. So yes, it might be utter nonsense.
OP, if drinking lemon water made you lose weight, no one would be fat. Eat less than you burn. Move more, eat less. Keeping an accurate food diary can help. And drinking lemon water can erode your tooth enamel .7 -

Drinking lemon water everyday won't make you lose weight.... obv. burning more calories than you take in by eating less and increasing physical activity does...but the link did support facts about some of the health benefits/properties of citrus fruit like lemons (and wasn't 'utter nonsense')0 -

Absolutely right
but the link did support facts about some of the health benefits/properties of citrus fruit like lemons (and wasn't 'utter nonsense')
All tied up in overblowing nutritional benefits while not specifying dosage and advocating cleanses, detoxes and the need for supplements, alongside really bad sourcing designed to add credibility for those who don't really get sourcing.
Would you accept "majorly nonsense"?6 -

It says fruit is good for you (true) mixed in with paragraphs and paragraphs of nonsense.10 -
If lemon water helps you do other things - one poster said she lost weight drinking it "but could of been all the exercise I did at same time" (yes I think so) and somebody else mentioned lemon water replacing coffee with creamer and sugar.
So, sure, those 2 posters increased calories out or decreased calories in as an indirect result of drinking lemon water - but the lemon water in itself didnt do the trick.2 -
