I was at the gym today and a lady came up to me and said "Omg!! I had to look 3 times just to make sure it was really you! You look great! You are my inspiration! There is hope for me!"15

Rocking a new size-- a six!! Was at least a size 20 when I started my journey in January. So many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.41 -
After two weeks of trying I finally jogged all 8 minutes of c25k day 1. Plus I have absolutely no pants that fit23

I put on my mother's sweatshirt today, just to find out it was a size MEDIUM. Coming from a size 4x. I didn't think it was possible.30

I fit into a pair of shorts comfortably that were really tight during the summer... wish the scale reflected my progress more haha10

I bought an 8 pack of ice cream drumsticks for the kids a couple days ago, they are still in the freezer. Minus the 2 the kids had. Was a 16 2 months ago now in a 13. Walked the kids to lessons 1 hr 45 mins roughly each way with a 1.7 km 80 m up hill.12

I don't think promoting your own site is permitted, but welcome to this thread anyway! It's a great place to get daily inspiration and motivation.3

At dinner tonight I was telling my husband that my wedding ring had been stuck on my finger since my last bout of weight gain this summer. Then I demonstrated by pulling on my ring, which slipped right off.27

I bought several new bras when I reached my goal weight at the beginning of the summer and they all fitted lovely at the time. I haven't lost any more weight since then, but all my bras are now too loose around the band. I finally went to get measured again yesterday, and it turns out I'm now a 32" band!! Even at any of my previous lowest weights I've never been less than a 34" chest!
It hasn't felt like I've been making much progress with the strength training but obviously weightlifting is working wonders!!
Your last name is making me want to know if we're connected to the same family lol, I don't know too much about family stuff0 -
Out of the two pairs of jeans I own, there was probably a good three inches gaping from the waist, which led to baggy bum syndrome. Unfortunately I have larger thighs, so I didn't think I would fit in the size down in skinny jeans.
Was out in town anyway for a firework display and ended up scouting out some new jeans to see. Oh. They fit. I'm wearing them now.
Size 8 (UK)! Equates to a size 4 in US. Never in ny LIFE have I been this size!
Oh and ssh.. Don't tell anyone as this is a scale victory, but I'm finally sub-9 stone, just in time for my birthday tomorrow!!24 -
I am not sure if this is all that "victorious" after all, but just now a waitress at a diner complemented me on my weight loss and then kept bringing it up and then asked if I meant to do it on purpose or if I were sick. Ummmm, do I look sick?!14

Last night when I came home at 3AM drunk, I "binged" on cucumber, baby carrots, rice cakes and dates haha. A little while ago I would have eaten every calorie dense thing I could find, and then fallen asleep feeling guilty.20

Bit of a long one . . . .
I've had a pretty rotten few weeks with life in general and my health specifically to a point whereby it's been affecting my exercise patterns, including a daily 30-mile cycle ride. The poor weather/shorter days haven't helped much either This has been really annoying me as I'd got into a good routine until all of the problems started and has been thinking of changing things up to become more challenging (and fun - well, for me anyway ).
Today however, I finally bucked the trend. The rain had stopped by midday (and none forecast for the rest of the afternoon) and even though it was freezing cold, and very windy, I got my bike out and started out on my usual ride, knowing that I had enough time to complete it whilst there was still plenty of light.
I'd got to the halfway point and I'd really had enough. It was so cold and I was going slower than usual due to the wind and also because I'm a bit out of practice. I had reached the point of "no return" on the ride - turning left meant I'd have to cycle 10 miles further than turning right. Turning left is what I'd usually have done without thinking about it but over the last few weeks I've been using any excuse to turn right and head for home, meaning a 20-mile route instead of 30 miles.
I found myself trying to find an excuse to turn right. We needed some shopping - but I had time to complete the ride before the shops closed. I was cold - so what, I'd warm up again. I was tired - but I could rest when I got home. I was going too slowly - so what, at least I was out there doing what I needed to do. I had a pile of laundry to do - again, so what, I could do it later. The wind was making things difficult - well, it wasn't going to hurt me to go a bit slower, even if I had to put more effort in.
So, after all of these arguments with myself, some of which were really quite persuasive, I found my resolve and turned LEFT (straight up a very steep long hill, the type where you shove the bike into a really low gear and peddle like crazy).
I am so glad that I did turn left and completed my ride. I would have felt that I'd cheated myself had I turned right. And although I was absolutely freezing cold when I got home (and have only just warmed up some six hours later), and had to go straight out again to get the shopping, it feels really good to be back in my routine again. Next time will be easier and I won't even think about turning right.
I am buzzing!58 -
Flew to Toronto for work. Was in the back of the plane and was dreading it. I sat down in my seat, and my thighs did not rub against the arm rests, and my knees did not touch the seat in front of me. I am down about 20# since the last time I flew. No where near where I want to be (want to lose another 64#, but this was still a exciting).27

What a cool post, thank you so much for sharing. It's exactly stories like these that show it's a lifestyle change. You hit a couple of bad weeks but you got right back into your "new normal". Good for you, and keep it up!!

On vacation this past week hubby spoke the unimaginable, amazing following words:
"Honey, you look great in that bikini!"
Life achievement unlocked! Lol45 -
I walked by a mirror in yoga pants and a simple fitted t. I thought holy smokes 10/10. That was literally my brain. I also saw a full length picture from the side and didn't realize how small I'd gotten. I've been at goal weight for a few months and my brain is finally caught up to how I look33

When I first started I was a size 32 in jeans and now I can happily fit into a size 22-24 depending on the manufacturer! Things that never used to fit suddenly do!27

I wore skinny jeans for the first time ever yesterday. And bought them from a store I haven't been able to shop at in years!24

A guy I'm dating made a comment about how we're basically the same size, which was really funny to me because Ive been a little self conscious worrying about being bigger than him! It's crazy how stuck my mind can be about my size, but good to know other people can see my progress (even if they don't know it!)17

I chose my walking route today based on the one with the MOST hills!!32

I'm currently wearing men's size 30 jeans. I started in size 38.22

The streak has ended. I started biking everyday in May thinking I could maybe get in three weeks of biking everyday. And I did. After that I just kept going and sometimes it was hard to fit that bike ride of at least 4 miles in. After the time change and adding a bike light I was able to keep it going for a few more days but was sidelined yesterday by a sinus infection and cold weather. So I was able to ride 201 days in a row for a total of 2776 miles. Working on setting new goals now. Wellness center here I come.

I built up the courage to start a YouTube channel about my weight loss journey. I love YouTube and it's a hobby I've thought about picking up for a long while, and I finally got brace/confident enough to do it.29

That is such a great accomplishment! That's the equivalent of Philadelphia to Sacramento! You crossed the country! Good for you! : )16 -
Started this journey wearing size 15/16 (US) pants. Was able to buy a pair of 9/10 yesterday. Haven't worn that size since high school/early days of college, and only then did I wear them tucked UNDER my belly. Now my belly is tucked IN :-)18

I logged my food today!28

I get this one. For the first time ever, I weigh less than my husband. On our wedding day we were exactly the same number. (I'm about an inch taller) Soon after I began to gain and gain and gain. He gained a little over the 26 years of marriage. But just about 2 weeks ago, I passed him on the way down and am now about 10 lbs less than him. It is such a strong cultural thing that in a couple the woman isn't supposed to be taller or heavier than the man. I can't do much about the height...but I can on the weight!20
