If your not hot avoid:
Hollywood blvd friday-sunday: every hot ethnic rep from every country shows up....its the cracee!
Manhattan beach: especially if your a mom under 6 feet thats not shredded. They are everywhere!
Santa Monica Blvd sat-sun:if your a heterosexual male, outta shape and still pompous. There are gay guys EVERYWHERE that are 10's that will make your girlfriend go "mmmmmmpH, what a waste"....now what son!
All the inner city is fairly homogenized ethnically and disease statistic wise. Deep in the OC ive consistently seen gorgeous white chicks over 6 feet but thats it. Westwood, The Grove, Miracle Mile, you see a lot of gorgeous TALL people, on section 8 with EBT card at whole foods market but driving an AUDI, they swear theyre actors...its cracee...Glendale can cancel christmas!
Bottom Line: dont covet other peoples blessings and do the best you can with your gifts....I love My hood...North East Los...Califas...0 -
I haven't been to LA in 10 years. My grandma lives in Bell and I have other family members spread out all over LA and Cali in general.I don't remember it being different than any other place else in regards to looks.0

But I make LA feel stupid.0 -

LOL no. The opposite actually. A group of us from San Francisco went to Disneyland for Release the Bats one year. After going to a few clubs in LA, I've never felt better about myself.1

My fat photo was taken in LA. thats whern I realised I neeeddd to lose weight. So probanly, yes!0

I've genuinely never been intimidated by another persons physique or looks. I don't see the point.
2 statements I heard years ago that always stuck with me.
1. No matter how hot someone is, someone somewhere got tired of f***ing them.
2. Every hour you spend in the gym... I'm in a bar, enjoyin life and talking to your girlfriend.1 -
These are funny. I am a native and there are so many different types here. I agree that it depends on what area you are in. Also, you have to remember most of the "beautiful ones" have COME to Los Angeles for a reason, so they have to look a certain way. Don't let that make you feel ugly!!! Be who you are and have an amazing life!!!! Eat the ice cream do whatever you want, enjoy life. Just my two cents. Cheers0

I was in LA a few years ago, spent a little over two months there. Didn't notice any discrimination based on my looks. I am not, never was, a '10'. I spent 3 month in SF Bay area, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary neither. I liked LA and San Diego much better actually, and traffic wasn't as horrible as described.0
-
Don't go into any city, you'll find beautiful people to compare yourself all the time. But really you're just idealizing what you wished you looked like. I've gone through this for years0
-
God I hope not. I'll be going there next year. It's been about 24 yrs since I've visited.0

Ugly, no. Dirty, like I'd stepped in something, maybe.1

I travel to LA and San Diego quite a bit...I pretty much see a wide variety just like I do anywhere else.
When in doubt, just go to Wal-Mart0 -

I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years.
There's all kinds of people there.
Never once did I feel inferior to anyone.0 -

Los Angeles isn't crowded if you just stay off of the freeways.
Everyone who lives there just sit in their cars on the freeway.
The beaches, bars, stores and restaurants are empty.0 -

Are you joshin'? In case you aren't, what's the attraction toward LA I wonder.
I loved living there. Los Angeles is essentially many different cities crammed into one area.
I lived in the beach cities and loved the climate and the casual lifestyle.
For Fitness, It Was Great.
Everyday I was either running, cycling or lifting.
There were a lot of open minded people there and for a young, fit professional it was a slugfest with the ladies.
The only problem..... too many people0 -

Sounds like it has its good points. I've never been anywhere near the west coast but had a friend who lived in Venice Beach (I don't know if that's LA or not.) She said the cost of living was astronomical and she was being edged out as her rent kept going up and her wages had stagnated. I did Google the cost of apartment rentals there when she told me about that (quite awhile ago) and she was right. The market rents were staggering. I'm sure even moreso today.
Venice Beach?
Yep, that's LA.
When I lived there we called it living small.
I didn't own much of anything. ...
3 bicycles, a guitar and a surfboard, a chair and an old dresser .... some clothes
I borrowed a mattress from a friend and tossed it on the floor.
My roommate boasted that he could be fully packed and moved out with 30 minutes notice0 -

Too many people. That's what I'm saying.
Yeah, too many people equals too many problems
Inflated Real Estate

Haha It's true. The people I live around in So Cal are more fit, better-styled, and put more time/effort into their appearance than a lot of the country. (Plus a lot of gorgeous people move to So Cal trying to make it in the industry). To be honest, moving to So Cal 4 years ago played a big role in motivating me to lose weight and up my game
So Cal gets a lot of hate...and there are all types of places/people in LA, so your experience of it will vary depending on where you're at...but the people I've encountered are generally more into taking care of themselves (including their health), more ambitious, and more laid back. It's been good motivation for me.1 -
Yes, when I lived in the Hermosa/Redondo Beach area in my early 30s it definitely was the land of the beautiful. I think I probably looked pretty good then, but with all the beautiful women around me on a regular basis, I did not feel it. I certainly noticed a difference when I traveled to other places at the time. California is a huge place and most parts are different (more normal bell curve of looks) than in LA. I think LA has more than its fair share of beautiful women.0

it just makes you want to try harder and get there!0

How can people be more ambitious and more laid back at the same time? I'm getting bored of the extremely ambitious people. Not LA, but I live in Silicon Valley where everyone seems to live by the old Accenture motto: work hard, play harder. It's exhausting, and not actually fun.0 -

It's a delicate balance that's held together by lot's of sunshine, yoga, skateboarding, and acai bowlsCutaway_Collar wrote: »Because nobody in silicon valley ever gets laid. Nerd problem.
