It's gotten to the point where I rarely go on my Facebook page any more. I can't tell you the number of times I've written a post in response to the reams of diet and nutrition bs on my wall, only to go, "Nope" and hit delete instead of post.

Just composing the reply was kinda cathartic, though. ;)

Facebook is the worst for the MLM predators. I have one friend blocked because I got tired of her constant Snakeoilogy/Beachbody pitches, my niece is blocked because she incessantly pimps ItWorks, and another friend is blocked because she's peddling the Plexus crap. As soon as anybody makes more than one post about any scammy MLM products, they go on my block list. ANGTFT.

Not nutrition related, but I had to block someone because of their constant, annoying scentsy posts. Granted I actually love scentsy and buy it regularly from someone else, but this girl constantly whines about her circumstances to gain sympathy for people to buy from her.

Totally relevant since scentsy is MLM.

Personally the oils drive me crazy. I have a scent allergy that sets off my asthma. Some essential oils, especially in a diffuser, set off my asthma. I said so on facebook and someone replied that I needed to try whatever brand they were using, because obviously tainted, less pure brands were my problems. *eye roll* Even worse, those that cheerfully start waving their oils in my face to help my asthma.

I can't give up facebook though. My brother lives in Japan and well, it's the only way I have to keep in touch without spending a fortune.

Tell them to go to a penitentiary and figure out how inmates get lean and don't die from the horrible food. That if just eating "organic" was all it took, then those guys should all be dead.

And you think you guys have it bad? I have people in the gym come up to me DAILY asking the stupid "Have you heard of __________? I think you can create a great program here with all your contacts.

I murmur to myself in the words of Abraham from the walking dead..........................motherdick.

I accidentally ended up at a Herbalife session (it was advertised as exercise classes). Boy do they come out with some woo. The tea apparently burns as many calories as 20 minutes running, the shakes can help you lose 10 kg a month while building 4kg of muscle without exercise, and so on.

I get pitches like that all the time. one woman even said the product she sells will reduce bad cholesterol,it gave her more energy(that would be the caffeine derivatives),her blood pressure went down, she sleeps better, and some other malarkey,oh and it helped her MS or some crap like that

I can roll my eyes at most of the ridiculous claims that these products make, but when they start claiming the product will help with a debilitating disease with no known cause or cure, I get homicidal.

And that goes for all plans and ways of eating, MLM or not.

I dont understand why people refuse to accept the concept of CICO. It is not the shakes it is the calorie deficit that u lose weight. In fact i'd rather get my nutrients eating real food then drinking all those expensive shakes. I have a friend on Facebook always posting how great she feels, how she's lost over 20 lbs. you can feel great too!!! I want to tell her you can get all that eating food as well but i dare not start a riot.

try telling these people that,I have and was told often that I was wrong and why I was wrong. and how they could never lose weight before doing A,B,C and they have with this new product.

the thing is the FDA doesnt ban these things. I love though how many people I knew who were selling the it(doesnt) works crap and was like" oh,make this much, make that much" blah blah blah sign up under me and become this level in no time. yeah well those ladies have left that company and are selling for another MLM company lol. they dont learn I guess. and they arent making what they were because others under them begin selling so they in turn have to peddle more woo to get more members to make money

Being told how bad my homemade soup is. My homemade soup full of veggies, chocked full of arsenic, and uranium. That killed me a little bit inside.

Urghh I'm not surprised it's killing you inside, stop eating poison!!

I only put arsenic in elderberry wine.

    An old classic.

And was told how bad my homemade soup is for the body, fat makes you fat and the apples my kids eat have NO nutrition in them, what-so-ever.

    I'm sold.

There was also this obsession with buying organic. I dared not say that I don't buy organic because I didn't want to hear how I was poisoning my family.

Fun times. I can never have that 20 minutes back.

Well you look amazing, so it obviously works fast!

I'm sorry your friend put you through that especially the part of her above her person.

Ugh...I once had someone who I believed to be a good friend message me on FB saying how I would not be depressed if I consumed juice plus. This was the same effing week my mother had died. It took me to say 'no thank you, I have a lot to deal with' 3 times 'thanks, but no thanks' another 2 times then an 'eff you, you're being insensitive, my mom just died' to which they replied with feelings of butthurt, no 'I'm sorry for your loss' or 'I'm sorry for pushing' or even 'are you okay'. Nope, it was 'how dare you speak to me like that'.

I tore her a new one in 2 paragraphs, and blocked.

She found me on instagram and started projecting her butthurt to me on there, too. Reported for harassment and blocked. She even called my sister who also tore her a new one.

I have an acquaintance that sells some anti-aging beauty cream crap that she gleefully claims will "alter your DNA!" This is the same woman who won't use a microwave because it "kills the nutrition". Ummm... you don't science, do you?

I'm glad I saw this. I just met someone a few months ago who lost a lot of weight they isagenixs. She friended me on FB and sent me a message about it. Made me realize how overweight I am that people are hitting me up for weight loss products without knowing me.

I am not really interested in fasting or "cleansing". Would rather learn how to eat and lose weight. But sometimes it is tempting whe you see all the great before and after pictures. Still not doing it though!!!

I have heard that some of those scammers steal before and after pictures from members of this site.

I have a friend who peddles the Isagenix crap, and looking at her photos she has GAINED weight since she got involved in it. I have known her for 4-5 years and I don't recall her ever being this heavy.

Don't take it personally-back when I was still on FB I got spammed several times from an acquaintance for BB crap, and at the time I was transitioning into maintenance and at a low end of the healthy bmi range (like 118lbs for 5ft, 6in). These people are only focused on one thing-sales, and are not taking into consideration the actual people they're going after. Ironically-several years later I'm still maintaining successfully and yep-she's still overweight and still pushing BB crap :p
