I'm sleeping better. My husband stopped snoring because he accidently lost weight when I started eating better39

Over the holidays I was randomly cited not once but twice by people in real life and on a FB group as a source of inspiration and motivation. Completely unexpected, and I am happy I have that effect!16

brookielaw wrote: »My NSVs have to do with getting the people I love to move with me. On NYE my sister in law asked me to walk with her and walked farther than she ever had! We did a full 2 miles. On the 1st, not only did I go for a bike ride for the first time in months, but I got my stepdaughter to try out her bike for the first time (she's had it for over a year). We worked on road etiquette, hand signals, and safety and she decided she wants to ride with me every week. Yesterday she willingly walked with me at the park, no complaints. That's a huge victory with a teenager.
It certainly is! Well done!
My habits appear to be rubbing off on my teenage daughter - yesterday she asked if we could walk to her work which is 2 miles away (normally I have to listen to her moaning for ages about having to walk even though she knows that she WILL be walking). It was freezing cold, lethally slippery underfoot but she wasn't put off. It took less than 30 minutes as well - I walked at a rate I thought she could manage as I am fitter than she is. I can walk at 5-5.5mph without any problems whereas up until yesterday she moaned about walking a mile to college at 3mph, so I sped things up a bit for her just for fun. She didn't complain at all.
Result!

I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery 3 weeks ago, and any other time I would have fallen off the wagon and started back to my old habits. This time, I used the surgery as a component to my weight loss and have been able to keep off the 8lbs that the surgery (and not being well enough to eat) took off, plus begged my doctor to clear me to work out again!
Another is, my wedding dress is now too big. It hasn't fit since the weekend after my wedding in 2010 and it is now too big.
I have had several coworkers ask me for advice about losing weight and working out. People refer to me as "skinny" (I still weigh 210 so I still have a ways to go, but its the idea of being skinny that counts to me!)22 -
Climbed a flight of stairs and it didn't take 10 minutes to recover and catch my breath. Also sat in a chair with arms without having to squish my butt in. Progress!!18

Was told to get a new jacket because mine has gotten so big it looks like I borrowed it from my father!18

I had not one, but 3 different co-workers comment on my weight loss today.
Must be the new clothes that I posted about earlier making it more obvious .18 -
Pizza is my kryptonite food. I CANNOT eat it in moderation. Everything else I can. Well, I got a craving today, couldn't shake it. I found myself picking up pizza, so, fail. I got a small thin crust with feta and onions. And then....I ONLY ATE HALF. Put the rest in the freezer for the next craving. So, may not sound like a victory but it was to me because I stopped at half. I kinda beat my kryptonite tonight.55

I was referred to as "the Real MVP" lol by one of my friends after commenting to a mutual friend the steps I took to lose the weight... and making suggestions on what she could do as well... AFTER being asked! :-)15

My size 13s are getting loose and I weigh less than my drivers license weight!19

I went jeans shopping this weekend and bought a size eight, in May I wore a 16! Also, I am 30 lbs under my driver's license weight that I probably lied about.33

This is technically mostly a scale victory, but I won a bet with a coworker - the bet was who would weigh the least on Boxing Day. A year ago, I was 80lbs heavier than him. When we made the bet, I was 20lbs heavier. I beat him by 10lbs.
The fun part, for me, was when another co-worker said to him today "Hey, remember when you were as skinny as Rick?" What a difference 10 months makes...21 -
I got to change my weight from 130 to 118 when I renewed my license. It felt awesome.28

Reluctantly took into the office all the decadent sugar laden food "gifts" I received over Christmas. Since I have holiday poundage to lose anyway, this really DID make me feel victorious. I don't understand the relatives giving you these kind of gifts when they saw how long it took me to get this weight off and what a constant struggle it still is to try and maintain the loss. The word sabatoge comes to mind. Grrrr.20

Lindt chocolates and Hershey's brownies:
Two things I found out now taste so sweet to me as to be almost inedible. Which makes it no longer a temptation to be avoided.
Oreos are nearly there.13 -
Took my measurements for the first time in three months: 8.5" gone!
From everywhere EXCEPT my belly. C'mon, body ...18
