So last night, I replaced the batteries in the treadmill (could barely read the digits, so it's been a while ) and I walked 1.5 miles. This is huge for me, because I would much rather be outside walking the dog. (The dog, however, is not a treadmill fan.)
I feel your pain.....time spent outside is way better than time spent inside. We had a beautiful full moon and clear sky last night which would have been perfect for a snowshoe. Except it was -27. So I did some weights inside the house

It's raining. And very cold. And snow is forecast.
But I still WANT to get out on my bike, even if for a short ride.14 -
I need a new belt! I couldn't wait to run to the scale when I woke up.21

I'm about a third of the way to my goal and nothing really fits anymore. I'm with you though I haven't wanted to spend money on new things that won't fit in however long. Another 20lbs and I'm going to have to cave and buy stuff though.
I only buy things supppppperrrrr on sale. I've looked at thrift shops in the area and they just never have anything that appropriate for work really mostly jeans that are ripped up. BUT if I am patient and wait and look for sales I can find stores that will do buy one get one free slacks (I'll get my size and a size down) and places that do $8-$10 jeans. And I only buy tops on clearance.
Do you have an "affluent" area near you? I used to live in a town in the UK that had a lot of well-to-do residents, and the quality of the stuff in the thrift stores there was very high!
Or you could check out consignment stores, perhaps? Although the one near me has become more picky about what they'll take, so a lot of their clothes are now out of my price range (even though they're cheap for the quality/label).
It's a difficult thing, knowing what to do! I've been unemployed for a long time so money is tight, but I still need decent clothing on hand in case I get an interview and finding things that fit and are good enough hasn't been easy! I managed to snag a pair of dress pants in a sale, but they're almost loose now... a couple more good pairs that I found in the thrift store are still too tight, so I'm just hoping I won't be caught in the middle when I need some!
I live in a divided town. half is "affluent" and the other half is very poor. The problem is that even thrift stores on this side of town are VERY picked over. I work for state government and my agency is strictly business casual so I tend to focus on clothing that is work appropriate. I tend to only have 1 pair of jeans at a time but 3-5 pairs of slacks because I wear those most.
Like you said the consignment shops near me are cheap for the brands and labels they accept butttttt that's still way out of my range that I'm willing to spend on clothing that I'll only be able to wear for a month maybe 2.
I really can't wait to get to goal just so I can start getting a reasonable wardrobe with more diversity and have things that fit better!4 -

I did manage to find jeans on sale for $15. So I bought a pair one size too small and a pair 2 sizes too small.
I was ticked though because for the first time they had what my size used to be for $15. Last time I had to buy online for a lot more.3 -
I have a pair of shorts to sleep in and last night the wouldn't fit around my waist, before they were pretty snug! I was worried I wasn't going to see any physical difference but that was motivation.10

I forgot about the wind - it's really blustery today.
But I still went out for an hour and a half and did just over half my usual run. Got completely soaked and frozen but it was worth every second of discomfort.
Had fun and am much happier now that I've had my "fix". It really irks me if I don't get out as missing a day (or more) makes it so much harder the next time.10 -
Was playing around with the step app on my phone... learned that my daily average steps for the past week was 11544 and for the last month was 10569. Wow! I had no idea!

Two evenings in a row, I walked on the treadmill after work.26

If you have an outlet mall nearby they are often worth a shot. Sign up for emails to get extra discounts. I stalk the clearance racks and get tons of stuff at Banana Republic & Loft outlets for $5-10 a piece. Sometimes less!6 -
Just got back from a lunch meeting. I had looked at the menu and made my choice before we arrived. But then they plopped down a basket of really delicious looking rolls and garlicky olive oil. Kryptonite! But I just averted my eyes and went on with the discussion. I made my choice and stuck to it. Proud of myself!42

I've been off this for a while and big NSV for me today was fighting the urge to get a cupcake at work. I fought myself so hard! I actually did it! Seems small but it is huge for me.
That's awesome! I have a similar one - yesterday my friends ordered pizza for our game night, and I only ate one slice more than I was planning to. Sounds like a failure, but the fact that it was just one slice and I still ended up at a calorie deficit for the day is amazing for me!28 -
Gosh, I've had so many lately!! First finding my size in Seconds and for $1 each! Brand Names and I can wear them now. Next, my closet is filled with clothes I can actually wear. The best, hubby said he could see the 35 lb loss!! YAY!! Happy New Year!!! CJ17

Went to the store for a knee brace... One Size Fits All - ACTUALLY FITS!!32

Hahaha Hubby says, "tell them about your great news!" I forgot. Heart test in Dec shows no sign of my 3 heart attacks, no heart scaring visible, no prinz metals angina, No enlargement of the heart!! I still have a spasmatic angina, but it is easily treated!! So there is my NSV for the whole year!! YAY! CJ73

Oh yeah - and I forgot... my Doc says all my "Pre-diabetic" conditions are dramatically improved, and I am no longer Type II Diabetes Looking for a Place to Happen...44

This li'l ol' lady bought a new desk (boxed, unassembled), and got the whole awkward 70-pound thing from house to garage, and up a full flight of stairs (with a turn in them) all by myself.46

Yeah, I know that feeling! I think it might take me most of this year (another 25-30lbs to go), unless I really go at it and work hard (I'm lazy, but I might try harder just to get 'er done!), but I really want to be able to buy things that I know will last. I'd like to shop in that consignment store once I get to a size I'm happy with, but like you said I don't want to pay more than I absolutely have to for clothes that might only last a few weeks.
I do feel good that I can now fit into almost all of the "smaller clothes" I've kept for years, but it does mean that at some point I'll shrink out of everything I own and have to buy more. I'm both looking forward to and dreading that time!
