I drink one tbls. every single night, then guzzle one cup of room temp water right after. I use to do two tbls. plus a tbls. of honey added to the water drinking one cup in the morning and one at night before bed. I had stomach issues and between this and no gluten, pasta or rice I am having none at all. I stopped the gluten, pasta and rice before starting the vinegar.

Edited to add.. Braggs with the Mother is the best one. Shake it well and you get the mother in every tbls.
Here is the website to Braggs http://bragg.com/products/acvFAQ.html

I put a tablespoon in one of my bottles of water every day. I use Braggs with "the mother". Apple Cider Vinegar has a lot of health benefits, but it's not going to make you lose weight just on its own.

What? On its own? Never heard of it and I'll never cease to be amazed at the crazy diets I hear coming out... be careful but as @VintageFeline says... why are you doing it if you don't want to? Life is short. Read the getting started posts. Enjoy your life :)

It's not a diet, it's been around for many years and balances your gut bacteria. Has done wonders for me.

Ok, glad to hear it balances gut bacteria for you.
As my gut bacteria is not unbalanced, I will pass on this myself.

However my question was to OP - what is it supposed to do for her? What is she trying to acheive with this?

Not necessary and if it's gross, stop doing it. Simple.

    Probiotics are a better option

I agree and every GI specialist my wife sees would agree. And she has seen a lot over that past few years.

My GI wouldn't recommend drinking vinegar

Don't buy into the woo of this. MFP is a great source to find out if a "tip" is legit or not.

Balance what gut bateria though? I dont think there really has been any scientic evidence to support that. And it assumes that the current bateria you have is bad. Dont get me wrong gut bateria changes as you change your diet but that doesn't mean it would make it better.

Don't get me wrong if you enjoy it by all means but i dont think most of the claims are substantiated.

Op, addressing calories in vs out while eating nutrient dense foods for energy and satiety is what is important. Not eating or drinking a concoction.

I take medicine for various things and it messes with my gut bacteria along with being gluten sensitive. My body can and will tell me when things are screwy. Not everyone is healthy like most out there. As for what ever claims are out there about scientific evidence goes I can't help that really. I just know what it has done for me.

This is at least the 5th or 6th ACV thread I've seen since the new year. Big Vinegar is really making a push in 2017...

I see seven threads on vinegar this month but the search result doesn't capture this one, so there were probably more.

If you want to lose weight just eat fewer calories than you need to maintain your current weight.

OP, I'm not sure why you are doing this. What you typed out does however help with migraines. The honey is strictly to help stomach the vinegar. ACV is an overall anti-inflammatory and is good for the body in moderation. But I've never used it for weight loss.

Where are all these vinegar ideas coming from??
