I love Pi Day! Maybe for all the wrong reasons. That's the day I eat 3.14159 servings of pie in all of its varied forms -- quiche, pizza, and berry pie.
And now i have to do this!5 -
March 1st I decided to change my lifestyle and really lose the weight once and for all. I started out at 214 and got down to 196 before I got depressed, lost motivation, and started slipping. Then, my mother passed away.
From June until October 23rd I gained back all but 3 of those pounds I lost started at 211 this time. I am down to 200.6 now and want to get down to 196 or below by the new year. It will put me back where I was finally and feel more like a true starting point.
I was 195.6 as of 12/25. I think there will only be a small loss on 1/1 or I will just end up maintaining, but still I made my goal. I am under 196!
Next mini goal is to get out of the 190s! Hopefully by the end of January.
189.4 as of this morning 1/14!
My next mini goal is to lose 10 lbs so I can get out of the 180s and no longer be obese just overweight.
Let's try for the first week in March? Will update when I reach it.11 -
UPDATE:
Well, I got down to 185 according to his scale but 182 according to mine. He was still happy that I lost 49 lbs over the year. Then he asked what my goal weight is. I told him 150, possibly down to 140. He told me to try for 135, and that anything over 150 at my height (5 ft 5") is still too much. My bubble of happiness has temporarily burst. He gave me a year to do it, so I'll reset some mini goals after I recover from the gut-punch. So my next goal is to get rid of all my size 16 pants and XXL tops and fit into all size 14 jeans and Large tops. That should happen within 6 weeks, when all the stores start bringing out the cute spring clothes.
You lost 49 lbs!!!!!!!! Don't let anyone burst your bubble.
Also, is it just me or does your doctor seem to be a bit of a *kitten*?
I'm the same height as you and yes, anything over 150 lbs is overweight at our height by the BMI chart. He's telling you to aim for 135 lbs because it would put you in the middle of the healthy weight range at 5'5.
Personally, my goal is 150 lbs too. Once I reach that most likely I will try to get to 145 or even 140, but I don't see 135 lbs being a thing for me. It could happen, but with me being sedentary (desk job) and having a larger frame I think I'll be pleased to just be in the high end of the healthy range.8 -
Next week I'm going up to Georgia for the birth of my first grandbaby, my daughter is due Feb. 2. Lots of family and friends will be there, including my ex-husband. I don't want them to see me as the fat lady!11

I wrote above that my mini-goal was to get to 207, which is at an "overweight" BMI. I'm still 9 lbs away, but I found a great deal on my celebratory purchase: a nice indoor bike trainer (used, but in excellent condition). I'm setting it up now, but I'm not allowed to use it until I hit the goal. The anticipation is going to be VERY motivating. Especially done my husband is going to be using it! I can't wait!4

Get to 215 n down from there1

Still working to get size 10.5 inch arms.. been at 11s for quite some time with the rest of my body steady shrinking and tightening. Lol Doing progressive weight training and eating at a slight deficit. Will reevaluate in a couple months. I know I can't spot reduce, but I can hope right?1

Made it to ONEderland today Next mini goal is 194 (my first time joining MFP weight), then 190 to make the doctor happy, then 183 to get out of the obese BMI range.12

Getting to 250. As of this morning, I am 16lbs away. I'm hoping to make it by mid-Feb, March at the latest.4

Wow we currently weigh exactly the same! Good luck I set 250 as my goal for St. Patrick's Day since I am pretty sure I'll get to it by then.
Another mini goal is getting to obese class 1... it's only a pound away for me (i'm 6'1")4 -
I'm 5'10", so it is probably a little further away for me. Good luck!3

Still trying to do up my coat!! Have at least 4 inches to go!5

You will get there!2 -
Still pushing for 215 for my next progress pic. Refocused my goals to prioritize physical fitness as important as losing weight. Progress is slow as I tweak how much I strength train/eat so I don't feel starved/crabby but still maintain a calorie deficit.

Hubby is away for 6 months - i want to be 130 when he gets back in July. Currently 140.9

I want to wear my size 38 pants, I am in size 42-40 right now. a few years ago when I got down to size 38 I bought about 7 pairs of nice jeans and shorts, and they fit very well. So I know it is possible!5

I refuse to buy a new bathing suit so want to be at a comfortable weight for which to wear my current one by mid feb when I plan on a waterpark vacay with the kiddos - have about 10 more lbs to go.7

Losing 13 pounds so I can be at 150. I'm hoping to be there by the end of February. We will see what my body wants to do. Just got keep my eating in check and exercise on track!3

to do up my smallest pair of pants from a weigjt loss in 2009. I lost 50 in 09 and gain 90between 2010 and 2016. I'm down 60 of that 90 and and going strong.
that is the smallest I've been since having kids in 2004. I can force them done up but I will wait a week or two till I can comfortably due them up.
they are outdated but for one day I will wear them proudly10 -
Not sure if its a "mini" goal but I am looking forward to the first 20 lbs to be gone. Once I get 15-20 off I finally feel like I am making progress!9

@kingleahnidas I just wanted to tell you that I read a couple of your posts either here or on the NSV thread and you have inspired me to train for a 5k. Originally, I said I would start doing this after I was below 200 pounds. I was aiming for the fall of this year. I saw some of your posts, and you mentioned how much you weighed, and I thought to myself if she can run a 5k weighing as much as she does, then so can I. So back in December, I started running as much as I could. It was barely 30 seconds before I had to stop and catch my breath. Now I can run 10 minutes without completely dying. It is still hard, and I am going to have to work up to being able to do it for an hour, but I am hoping I can do it soon. Thank you for sharing your successes and inspiring me.20

My mini goal is to say goodbye forever to the "200's" by the end of the month.16

I need to lose 40lbs to pass my DOT physical by March. I may not succeed but losing that 40lbs anyway is my first goal.5

I had a mini goal to fit in my lowest weight pants that were in the back of my closet, I finally got them on and zippered and they fit perfect EXCEPT now they were so out of date! Go figure! You work so hard to get back into them and when they fit you are like "I wore these?!" Ha ha ha!9 -
Current mini goal is to make daily workouts and meeting my water goals actual habits, rather something that requires a ton of willpower. I'm getting there, but not QUITE at the point of really prioritizing my workouts over other stuff yet.4

I did that with a dress..I worked so hard to get into the dress, it was my size 12 dress and I wanted to wear it so bad, I finally got into the dress and it ended up being to big, it just hung on me like rags. I was so disapointed because I had that dress for 13yrs and finally it would zip up and then it was huge. Bought a new dress lol.7 -
I have an appointment on January 11th for my annual checkup with my general practitioner. Last year, he pretended to be excited that I had lost 8 lbs between January 2015 and December 2015. I weighed 234 at the end of December 2015, and my goal is to get down to 184 by my January 11 2017 appointment. That would be a 50-lb loss and I think he would be excited for real! I'm at 192-193 today, normally losing 1.5 to 2lbs / week so I think 8 lbs in 6 weeks is do-able.

Oh my god! Way to go! I think it's great that he not only supports your loss, but knows you're strong enough to go even further!
Can I ask, what kind of build do you have? I've always thought I had a medium build, at 5'5" also, so it's interesting to see 130 as standard.
