What's your Bench 1RM?

I'm 175lbs and currently at 205lbs for my bench press. I don't train chest more than once a week. Just curious, what's a typical weight for men? Or women? Post your weight, your 1RM, how often you train chest, maybe how long you've been training. Thanks y'all. Just want to see where I'm at.

Thank you. I appreciate your response. I've also noticed that a 1.5xBodyWeight is not uncommon.

I benched 160kg (352lbs) at 95kg in 2015. Since then I haven't focused on strength training so doubt I could get anywhere near that right now.

    BW: 183 lb
    Last tested maxes:
    Touch-n-go BP: 315 lb
    Paused BP: 265 lb

Previous PR/meet bench was 170 lbs at 215 lbs body weight, about 1 year of lifting.
Currently weighing 185 and last gym max was 165 lbs. I'm now on my 3rd year, but didn't train much for most of 2016. Benching 2x a week now and cutting again. Hoping to add some more upper body mass in the future and bring it up a lot, because that girl-poverty-bench.

385 right now with a 345 incline weighing 249. Going for 395 two weeks from now. My 2017 goals are 405 flat and 365 incline at age 50. Power lifted back in the day, had a 505 flat and 405 incline at 34 weighing 260-270.

This is a hard thing to generalize. I never weight trained in my life until about 3 years ago and I am not trying to gain, just maintain. I was actually able to BP the most at my lightest weight because I was training regularly at the time, now I run more and lift less so my BP has suffered. All that to say, previously untrained, 160lb. BW and 1RM was 185lb. I have gained some back, now I weigh 185 and my 1RM would prolly be closer to 150 now, I haven't tried in a while.

165 bench press in competition at 178 bw. That came up ~20 lbs in 12 weeks running Sheiko and benching 3 times a week.

I'm a lady (just for reference)...competition PR in Aug. was 100lbs@132. Gym PR 2 weeks ago was 135lbs@138lbs...ALMOST bw! I train chest once a week with a coach.

Been training for five years, seriously with my coach for just over two.

Gym max is 93.5/205.7, platform is 92.5/203.5 at a body weight of 88kg.

Bench is anywhere from 2-4 times a week.

Awesome. Got some great input. I have been consistently training for just over 4 months, but I'm hoping to gain more strength. Thank y'all for you're responses. I'd love to be in a competition soon.

I weigh 142lbs...my bench 1RM is like 80lbs (lol). Been training since May 2016 and was doing Stronglifts until last week where I switched to 5/3/1 in hopes that it will get me stronger.

This Saturday will be going for a new rep PR with 315 lbs, hoping for 10-12 range.

If you can bench 205 with 4 months of training then that's very impressive. I think it took me at least a year if not longer. When I started, the bare bar was too heavy, now I can do 335. It's been about 4.5 years.

It has taken me the better part of three years to break my 185 plateau. #embracethegrind

as a woman I could 1RM my bodyweight at 145...pretty proud of that actually.

3 Years of lifting benching 1x a week.

Unfortunately my 1RM for benching is not nearly where I would like it to be, at only 95lbs. I don't bench nearly as much as I need, I find myself gravitating towards squatting and deadlifts, I just generally like them more.

Thank you. Although I'm sure I have not hit a plateau yet. That's amazing though, one day I'll be joining the #300Club

It is hard to balance your training. I had neglected the bench for a while, mainly focusing on squatting and deadlift and other isolated exercises. Now I'm trying to balance everything out by incorporating Olympic lifting.

I've been "lifting" like... 8 or 9 years? I've been consistently "training" with better nutrition and principles for a little over 3 years I think.

Right now I'm about 183 lbs... and Bench 2x a week currently.

Best TnG was 270 (around 190 lbs maybe, and over a year ago) and best paused was 265 (I think I was closer to 200 lbs BW though).

    I'm a garbage bencher.

I know you didn't technically ask, but "training chest" isn't always the best way to build your bench press. Triceps and a big back will add a lot to your bench as well.

I'm somewhere around 375lbs Paused at the moment. Probably somewhere around 385-390 Touch and Go. Body weight sitting around 255-260

    Training for bench 3x/week currently.

205 at 168 body weight 6 months ago. Now I'm 176 currently benching 2x a week. Almost at my 2nd year of training, But first 7 months of strength training. Calculated is 220 though I haven't tested it. I want to wait till my calculated breaks 2 plates.
