    Shy - well done for turning down the pizza. Not sure I could have been that strong!

    Joy - glad you feel like you've found a way to handle the extra calories and feel like you are on track. Your supper sounds yummy - keep doing good things!

    @HG3185 - welcome!

    Rachel - glad you are feeling better, enjoy your training day!

    @pudgy1977 - happy birthday!! I turned 40 last year - it's turned out to be a pretty cool age so far, enjoy it!

    Jen - half a cheeseburger? Nope, don't think I could have done that either - view it like my bread and butter pudding earlier this week, enjoy and move on! That's amazing endurance for running - go you :). Enjoy Winter Park!

    Thank goodness it's friday - again, it feels like a long week but it's nearly weekend and the sun is (almost) shining here. All the standard Saturday stuff planned here - food shop and swimming with Alistair plus the added excitement of going out to get new tyres fitted on my car!!! Expensive and I've been putting it off but really needs to be done so one more thing ticked off the 'to do list'. Hope the weekend is good to you all and keep up the good work team - we are really hitting it hard this year!

    @rachel0778 Normally, I would have did it before I started, I was just starving by the time we got home. It was mostly mindless eating. Yesterday, wasn't much better. You are no slug and glad you are feeling beautiful and a little Sassy today. My work would flip if I wore something besides jeans. I have worn slacks once or twice and the first thing my boss asks is if I have an interview somewhere.

    @kaavery120188 I am so excited, I bet I drive everyone crazy at work today. Just 7ish more hours.

    @ShyCush6 RMNP is beautiful. I don't make it up there often. Last time we went camping up there it was in August, was a gorgeous day. Woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground. I was the only one smart enough to have brought warm clothes and a coat with me. I laughed my *kitten* off at all the boys. They kept telling me I was stupid to bring it all. We have a saying in CO, and it is even more true when you are in the mountains. "Don't like the weather? Wait 10 minutes it will change." I rarely don't have a coat in my car.

    @pudgy1977 Happy 40th Birthday. I hope you have a fantastic birthday and this year bring you many great rewards, and a lot of joy.

    @bluepoppies777 One pound at a time is exactly right. I would like to lose between 60-80 pounds, but right now my goal is to lose 5 pounds. That is a small number, I can do that. Then I can be happy and be proud of myself. Then set a new goal of 5 pounds... and so forth. Woo hoo, Colorado is the place to come visit. Although a cruise would be good too.

    @janetay01 Yep, I am not going to get bummed about it. I learned a lesson fast food cheeseburgers are gross, not worth the aftermath. Next time I was just ask the BF to bbq me one and I will stick to the chicken at fast food places. Great job getting your errands done.

    I had a really tame night last night the BF had to work late (got home at 930) and I didn't have anything besides shopping and packing to get done. I did those things. Shy made the mistake of inviting me to do a Fitbit challenge. I hate losing, and had nothing else to do. My living room and kids saw me walking back and forth. Ended up with 22000 steps. Almost 10k more than I had planned. I also got asked to be a team leader for the Amazing Race winter challenge. Pretty excited about it, but bummed I have to leave my old team to do it.

    Ladies have a fantastic weekend, breathe and remember our words! I challenge each of you to do a new to you exercise, video, or walk a walk you haven't walked before.

    I'm new and restarting my weight loss journey. I'm trying to lose around 20 kilos (or 50 pounds). I'm not setting a time frame, but I want to be consistently losing weight. Any support would be great since I'm not getting support at home. My profile is open and anyone can add me and I'll accept as long as you're supportive. I hope I can find some people to join me in losing weight, even if it's a pound a week. I have very little motivation to do this on my own.

    Hi, I'm Robin. I started MFP 10 days ago and am down 4lbs. I'm a former Weight Watcher and gained about 30lbs in the last year and a half, and I'd like to get back to a comfortable, sustainable weight. I'm excited to see where MFP takes me - so far I love the accountability and am obsessed with tracking. Just got a food scale so I can be more accurate, because I know I'm probably under guessing weights of things. Also joined a gym in September of last year and it's become one of my habits, I love going now. I need to make some changes to my routines so I can start targeting my problematic spots better.

    Anyhoo, nice to be here!

    Tazzy: It was really yummy pizza too… I am pretty proud! Instead I had a bowl of cereal… I didn’t feel like cooking once I got home from the gym and he was still out with the guys from work!

    Jen1977: I am so selfish when I have my daughter… we have 50/50 custody and I drop everything when I have her. My friends don’t understand how it works sometimes… they would do anything for a break from their kids for a day! They grow up too fast not to give ‘em all our attention…

    Joy (aka fluffy): =) ! I like the thought of fat being fluffy… it sounds so much cuter! You have a great positive outlook… If I have a fail day… it’s usually because of pizza!! LOL! One pound at a time is right! The scale was down one this morning! YAY! Well Colorado is in June! Get your *kitten* together! LOL!

    Janetay: I with you TGIF!!! New tires always does feel good! I think I just feel safer when I get them! Enjoy your weekend, sounds like a nice one in the works!

    Jddelroy: I will pack all kinds of warm clothes for the mountains! My husband said the same thing when we went to Yellowstone and I was very warm the whole trip! LOL! I have a goal of 10 lbs for me as well. Start small and build up! Way to go on the fitbit challenge… You guys really made me step up my game!

    Welcome JCarrasquel! Hope you post often!

    Welcome Robin! Post often… sounds like you are on the right track and we’d love to hear about your journey!

    So I managed to get a workout after work and then pranced around my kitchen, cause I hate losing fitbit challenges either! LOL! Guess what.. I lost!! =( But I did manage to get in 16K! Which I am happy with!! I also hit the gym this morning! Yay! And now that I upgraded my membership so I can bring Lexi whenever I want… I now get Hydro Massage, tanning beds and Light Therapy… I have never done a red light therapy… supposedly it relieves tension in your muscles and joints, helps your skin elasticity and reduce cellulite… HMMMM… not sure what I think of that machine yet. I might try it once. Anyone else ever heard of it? Tanning beds, I won’t use but the Hydro Massage I am looking forward to. I might try it tonight after work when I go in and lift some!

    Yes I'm back.. again. I really need to stop running away from the fat. I have tried ignoring it, hiding it (not enough spanx in the world), bribing it (chocolate is not my friend) and pleading with it. But it's not going away. I need some motivation, seriously.
    On a brighter note, I did lose 20 pounds last year, so it's not all bad.

    It's been a while since I posted on this site, I've been doing well despite my changing the rate of loss to 1/2 lb/wk instead of my usual 1 lb/wk. I just had more of an appetite during these cold wet winter days. I put it back to 1 lb/wk today. Despite that i did lose 2 more lbs recently, yay for me. My hubby was in hospital with high heart rate week before last but thankfully came home after a week & is doing well. All last week he wanted me to be near by so I was going to the gym every day since it's 3 min from our house. I think that helped me lose wt. We made some pork ribs a few days ago. I cooked them in slow oven for 3hrs, then hubby put them on the grill. They were awesome but both of us felt sick after, I think because we're not used to eating fat anymore.

    Hey, all!
    Hope everyone has had a great weekend! For those that asked...the doctor gave me two more weeks in the cast & then he'll put me in a boot for a while so we can rehab the ankle sprain he just decided I also have. Pain is generally better (sometimes it gripes a lot...but mostly not) but it makes sleeping hard, I'm usually awake between 4:30 and 5:15 with no hope for more sleep! I should be on my feet again around the 2nd. I tried a weigh-in on Sat...knowing that I have no idea what my cast weighs and was down at least two pounds from the last time, with the cast and that's about 2.5 less than before the cast...so 5 ish pounds down in four weeks!

    On the pizza discussion: I turn down pizza for three words: Pizza Hut, Cici's. I find both gross and have no problem saying no. We have several local places that have tasty, non-greasy pizza that is amazing, so I try to avoid it!

    Regarding GoT...sorry guys, I can't do it. Read the first book not long after it came out (yes, that was a LOOOONNNGG time ago...20 years or so). Liked it but got very peeved when I had to wait more than 12 years for the sequel. And then I didn't like it much. I can live without stories where the worthwhile people all end up persecuted or murdered and the worthless ones prosper and do the murdering. Too depressing for me.

    @gemwolf110, Have an excellent vacation!!! And good luck on the interviews...I'm applying for my boss's job this week (she retired & we've had an interim for 5 months), so I'm with you on the stress of interviews (and I don't even have an interview yet!). Good luck!

    @bluepoppies777, I love the kittens! When I was a kid, this woman my mom knew had a fridge magnet of a big, wooly sheep that said "Ewes not fat, ewes fluffy" that I always liked...it is even better with kittens!

    Welcome new people! Have an awesome week!

    @melaniedscott - well done on the loss, you are doing an impressive job keeping active with that cast. I agree on the pizza - we have a little local place that does really good pizza that is very hard to resist but beyond that I only tend to eat pizza that we make at home now.

    @gemwolf110 - enjoy your vacation and the ice hockey. Take a bit of time this week to prepare yourself for the interview and you'll be fine. I'm very bad at selling myself - I always do better when I can prove myself on the job¬

    @Evamutt and @indygirl217 - welcome back!

    Shy - well done with the workout and the prancing round the kitchen to get your steps up. Nothing like a bit of healthy competition to get us moving!

    @karnesrobin and @jcarrasquel - welcome!

    Jen - well done on your 22,000 steps!

    Had a lovely (very cold!) weekend and spent yesterday afternoon at a local nature reserve where Alistair looked inside every molehill for a mole and every clump of grass for a rabbit - then spent a lot of time bemoaning the fact that he couldn't get close enough to the sheep to stroke them! Built his train track when we got home and had lots of fun pushing the trains around the different loops - my husband is on a quest to cover the front room with track :). Then Alistair woke up with a temperature at 3.30am and never got back to sleep so I'm at work trying to resist the coffee and the doughnuts on the cabinet next to my desk - I think I will but it's a hard one this morning when I'm quite so tired. On the plus side, I lost another 0.8lbs last week so it's going well for me! Have a good day all - I shall rate mine as a good day if I stay awake!!

    @karnesrobin and @jcarrasquel Welcome!

    @ShyCush6 We are going to keep each other on our toes! I am back from my getaway and ready to walk my pretty butt skinny. I need to try the hydromassage at our gym too.

    @indygirl217 , @Evamutt Welcome back great job coming back, keep up the hard work.

    @gemwolf110 Yeah for vacation. What do you have an interview for? Lots of practice is good, also write down any questions you have, some of your accomplishments, and what you have done to make you right for the position.

    @melaniedscott Thanks for the update. Sounds like you are making great progress even with a temporary disability. Fantastic!

    @janetay01 Sounds like a fantastic weekend, and great job on the loss. I am also exhausted this morning. Trying to drink a ton of water to stay awake.

    Good morning everyone. I had such a great time in Winter park. It was very cold out there, but so beautiful. There was snow everywhere, about 3-4 inches high. So glad I went and bought thermal underclothes. The food was delicious, mostly spent the time either walking around, or watching movies in the peace and quiet. I think I gained a pound, but it was so worth it. I feel rejuvenated and ready to focus on losing weight again. I am also starting a new challenge as a team captain. So I have to be on my game even more so. I am going to try and get to Onederland by Valentine's day. This will be a total stretch goal, but doable if I can not snack on everything in sight.

    My NSV's
    I bought a smaller pair of jeans for my trip. Came home in them and my mom told me I was looking skinny. The BF picked me up and threw me on the bed. We were playing around, neither one of us realized he could do this now, until I was on my back, on the bed with him tickling me.

    Hi Everyone! I'm swamped at work (tis the season), sorry I can't catch up on all of your posts!

    Welcome to all newcomers, we're glad to have you in on the group!

    Happy Birthday Jen!!! I hope you have a great 40th!

    Hopefully I'll have time to catch up later this week

    Happy Monday, fabulous people!! I'm feeling a little sluggish today... actually it's more like the slug bait! LOL! Not sure why, behaved this weekend (was the DD) and stayed on track with the eating. I think it's just this time of year where I want to seriously hibernate!

    Rachel - hope your work simmers down!

    Jane - good job staying away from the doughnuts, keep that up! That's why you are down 0.8!! Sounds like you had a nice weekend, I love it when kids are so curious with nature, very sweet!

    Jen - ha! I don't think my hubs has ever picked me up and threw me around. LOL!!! But I guess I could put that down as a goal of mine! haha! Glad you had fun on your getaway, and how awesome to be asked to be team leader? you need to make yourself a shirt!

    Gem - enjoy the week off, you deserve it. and keep mentally thinking positive about your interview, it will help! I love going to ice hockey games too! (but hey, I'm Canadian, so I guess it's a given!)

    Shy - what the heck? There is a machine to reduce cellulite at your gym? HELLOOO! definitely book into that like nobody's business! You are going to be svelte!! And nope, I'm no tanner either, makes you age fast, and we don't need that! I hear you about the 50-50, when you only get her half the time, you've got to make up for the week you've missed! I have had moments where I've said to my husband "I need a condo to myself with visitation for all of you!" But honestly, I wouldn't want to be apart!

    Robin - welcome to the group! I used to do WW too, but I much prefer MFP. I found when I stopped WW I gained my weight back, and I realized over time that it is because I'm a volume eater (because I love food). So if I was eating huge salads or lots of cooked veggies for 0 points, then when I was off WW I would still want a large amount of food, but I wasn't making the healthy choices... With MFP it makes me measure out everything, even the veggies and log it, so I'm eating smaller portions of everything, which is good!

    Well, Monday is here again - how did that happen so fast?! LOL! I weighed on Saturday and I'm down 1 lb, so I was really happy! I'm sticking with my 1 lb a week target (and also the mental target of just focusing on the one pound... I can get overwhelmed with 35-40 lbs to lose, and sabotage myself!) I'm going to lose my fluff slowly but surely! :)

    Today, me & hubby ate lunch at taco bell. Haven't been there for years. So now that I lost a few more lbs, I have less calories to eat if i want to loose 1 lb/wk, so....I have 404 cal left the rest of the day, instead of my usual 600. I'm making lentil strew & will try to stay withing that range. I'm waiting for it to be done & am so hungry

    @rachel0778 Thanks for the quick post. Hope work goes smoothly this week. Keep up your great work.

    @bluepoppies777 You are doing amazing. 1 pound a week is a great way to look at it. I gained my pound back from last week. So this week, I am just working on it again. I set a goal to be under 200 by V-day. That is 6 pounds in 3 weeks. A little on the extreme side, but not too crazy. I will still be happy if I am able to do just 3 pounds, but if I don't make a goal, it seems to be harder for me to make progress.

    @evamutt I had taco bell the other night as well. It is so bad that it is good, but definitely a calorie killer. Good job trying to stay under though. (On days like that, I might let myself go into maintenance calories, or shave some off from the rest of the week.

    I had a yucky night/morning. The BF and I are fighting, we have been doing that a lot lately. So I am feeling pretty blah and down today. I am going to try and stay focused on the things at work. I am also taking some time to go to the gym by myself after work. No emotional eating or snacking today. I wish they would get rid of the darn GS cookies in the break room. I managed to ignore them yesterday, but just barely.

    Anyways, hope everyone has a fantastic day.

    @bluepoppies777 You're doing so great on your 1lb a week goal, keep up the great work!

    @EvaMutt It might be worth upping your daily calories today. If you're starving that's a quick way to lead to a binge

    @jdelaroy Sorry to hear about the fighting at home. I'm so glad you're able to take some time for yourself at the gym

    @janetay01 Congrats on the loss! Sorry to hear Alistair isn't feeling well :(

    @melaniedscott Great loss, especially since you're doing it while in a cast!

    @gemwolf110 So glad you're on vacation after all those long hours! I hope you rock your upcoming interview

    @indygirl217 Welcome back!

    @shycush6 Great job hitting the gym! I'm glad you're able to bring Lexi with you now

    @karnesrobin Welcome!

    @jcarrasquel Welcome!

    I had my first personal training session today and I'm feeling pretty good overall. I got 20 legit push ups and 50 crunches in a minute which isn't a bad bench mark to start with! I'm especially impressed since we had a 2 hour derby practice last night and the personal training session was at 6:30 this morning. My body is definitely going to need to rest tonight!

    I still can't believe the 6 weeks were only $50 a person. I really love my job for having incentives like that.

    My old place of employment is now hiring for a job I would be a shoe in for and would get paid a lot more at...but you can't put a price on the quality of life difference that I have at my current job so I'm sticking where I'm at.

    I hope everyone is having a great week!

    Good Morning, lost 0.2 lbs last week, I did so good Mon-Thurs, then Friday, sat and sun, I ate fast food, had a few beers with friends and pooff all my good eating, drinking water earlier in the week was canceled out! I'm lucky I even lost, and did not gain. New week, hopefully better choice's this weekend. Have a great day everyone!

    Indygirl: Way to go on the 20 lbs!! That’s no small feat!!

    Eva: Glad your husband is doing ok… Way to go on losing.. keep up the great work!

    Missy: Hope you are loving your vacation!! Good luck on the interview… you will do great… always nerve racking though!! Keep a smile on your face and be confident the job is yours! Enjoy the hockey game!!

    Melanie: Well good news there is an end in sight for the cast /boot! Good luck on yor application too! Yay! You girls are moving on up!! ;) Great job on the loss!

    Janetay: Sounds like a fun trip with Alistair! Sorry he is not feeling well and hope you can stay awake… the joys of a working mum! Keep on losing! Yay!

    Jdelaroy: I slacked on the steps yesterday… =( I really liked the hydro massage but it was an arm day and I would’ve liked it to hit my arms… but it did feel good! Glad you loved Winter Park!! Sorry about the arguing… it happens we all have that with our significant other… I think I will hit the gym tonight just to get away as well! Hope things are better tonight!!

    Rachel: Hope you can catch up soon! Nice job with the trainer!! Sweet!!!

    Joy: I’m sure the machine doesn’t quite work like that! LOL! Way to go on the loss of fluff!! Love it!!

    JenHul: I’m good at canceling out all my hard work… grrrr… at least you had a loss… be happy and got with it! =)

    So Friday night I had an arm night after work and then hit the hydro massage.. it was nice and I will use it again… The weekend was pretty much a bust… Meat raffle… and some friends were in from out of town and wanted to tour our dive bars… so yep! Bust! I did the vodka/Diet 7 with Mio… tasted ok… and I’m sure it saved on my calories… I ate ok otherwise. Sunday morning we went out for breakfast… porn in the morn… yes.. seriously! Not my thing but kind of funny sitting there with my friends and one of the girls mom who is 72… Porn on every TV in the joint… Kind of weird but quirky… seems to be the place to take friends for a weekend breakfast experience… We went with the same group of friends… I did not order a cocktail as they all did… My food was greasy and did not sit well on my tummy. I did only eat half but it was a large portion. =( But good news… I didn’t eat much the rest of the day due to my tummy! I have yet to weigh myself. Yesterday, was a *kitten* day as well. I ate good but little exercise. My parents came to town and stayed for dinner and into the evening so I didn’t squeeze in a workout. So tonight… I am ready to hit the gym. Hubby is pissy and it will be nice to get away, as my nephew is stopping over as well. See we all have issues once in awhile. I do have a girls weekend this coming weekend and I am very excited about it. Leaving Friday morning and staying in downtown LaCrosse… college town… should be fun!

    well, I changed the rate of loss to 1/2 lb/week. with that I have 1350 cal/day. It's not been very easy lately. I make it easy on myself when I eat lots of veggies with 3-4 oz of some kind of protein. I can eat the same things for quite a while & not get tired of them but I'm eating like I would for rest of my life. I have enchiladas in oven, I made the best lentil stew yesterday that we still have plenty of so I can have 1enchilada or 1 serving of stew in order to have room for snack around 8 or 9 which I found I really need in order not to be hungry & fight cravings so I'll do my best. I don't go to gym every single day but I do walk my dogs 1-3 times a day so that helps. I have to see what I need to change in order to keep being successful

    @Evamutt - I hear you on the evening 'munchies' - there are nights when it takes everything I've got to not reach for bread or chocolate. I find if I keep my hands busy it helps and we are also watching less television in the evenings which also helps as it is easy to sit and eat things whilst watching something on TV.

    Shy - sounds like a typically busy and fun weekend for you. Porn in the morn for breakfast??? Well, it's certainly different. How did the 72 year old mum find it?? Hope the hubby recovers his humour soon - sometimes a think a break away to give each other some space is the way to go, just gives everybody a chance to breath and regroup.

    @jenhul - well done for losing - you do have to let go sometimes and enjoy yourself and it just shows that a good week can't be undone by a couple of bad days.

    Rachel - glad the personal trainer session went well. That's a good rate for 6 weeks. You are so right - quality of life in a job is to too important to pass up lightly - hope the week is going well for you.

    Jen - sorry to hear about the fighting. Focus on the good things, try and find some time for you - and try and keep talking to each other. And well done on the NSV with the jeans - that must of made you feel good!

    Joy - well done on the loss!

    So I'm back after a half day of work and a half day of looking after Alistair yesterday. He woke up yesterday morning with a raging temperature so no way he was going into nursery. My husband took the morning off to look after him and I took the afternoon off. I have such mixed feelings about these unexpected days - it's lovely to spend extra time with him but it puts so much pressure on at work - it's a difficult balance. And that's with an understanding manager - how people cope when they don't have that is beyond me. Had a better night last night and we've packed a somewhat chirpier little boy off to nursery this morning. So fingers crossed, he'll be ok- he was loading his bowl with cornflakes when I left him so a positive start! I had a mixed day yesterday with food - my numbers looked good but I wouldn't want to look too closely at the nutritional benefits of the day. It was rescued a bit with supper - but boy was it necessary!!

    Anyway, back to work - hope the day treats you all well.

    Hi! I am trying to get back into using MFP. I just stepped on the scale and I am the heaviest I have ever been. It is miserable and I am trying to get motivated to get started. I have no idea how to join a group, but y'all seem nice so I thought I would give it a try. Please let me know how to join? Thank you!

    @ShyCush6 It looks like you had a fantastic weekend, and you killed it at the gym last night. I am going to have to do some serious walking today to win. LOL

    @evamutt sounds like you are doing a great job planning things out. I am at 1500 calories a day, and sometime have a hard time with it. I need to be more organized and planned out.

    @rachel0778 That is a fantastic deal. I wish we could do something like that at my job. I love where I work. The people are great, and they are super flexible about my schedule which helps a lot.

    @janetay01 Sick kids are no fun. Luckily an understanding manager is great. I have lost jobs because my boss didn't understand the being a single mom, 3 kids, they like to take turns being sick and daycare/school won't let you bring them there when sick. I am glad he is feeling better.

    Yesterday turned out to be an okay day. The BF said he wasn't going to talk to me until he got home from work last night. We usually email back and forth during the day. I was upset by this, but I figured he would calm down by time he made it home. Well I got an email from him in the morning. He was in a car accident. Luckily everyone was okay. Scared the crap out of me, and I was worried. Of course I responded with that concern. After that he seemed to have let it go. Was super busy at work as well, so didn't have time to dwell on it. The sad (maybe it is good) we don't usually fight over anything important, just stupid stuff. I managed to limit my snacking and barely stayed under calories. I had 15 remaining. I think I want to try what Joy is doing and put my exercise to 1 calorie, maybe keep me from eating too many of those calories back.

    Today, I have another busy day. So I better get to it. To all a healthy, happy and productive day. Remember your Word of the Year!

    “The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It’s not desiring the fall; it’s terror of the flames. And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling.” ― David Foster Wallace

    To everyone that is like me....know you are not alone. There are people that understand your struggle.
    To everyone this is not like me.....Please do your best to educate yourself on depression, there are people that need you.

    hello :) my story boils down to the fact that I was able to 4 months, a little more removed 15 kg. It was hard. But I'll tell you one thing, I just rode my bike and did not eat after 6 hours.
    2 things: riding a bike and dinner before 6 pm. :)

    @jenhul You sound like me. I do great during the week and blow it out of the water on the weekend!

    Welcome @marijaa1996 and @bl0nd1e! You don't have to do anything to join, you just post on here

    @pudgy1977 Powerful quote. I'm sorry to hear that your struggling right now. Please let us know if there's something we can do to make the flames less intense

    @jdelaroy I hope your BF is okay! I'm glad to hear the fighting has lulled

    @janetay01 Sorry to hear illness swept your household again :( I'm glad to hear he's feeling better today

    @Evamutt I'm glad to hear you upped your calories, I bet it really helps with satiety!

    @ShyCush6 I about died laughing at Porn in the Morn! What a hilarious concept! Also, I'm glad you're able to escape to the gym, I do the same thing sometimes

    I was really anxious yesterday. So anxious that I cleaned the bathrooms, did laundry, and cleaned out 3 bags of stuff from my walk in closet all after work. My SO joked that our house will never be cleaner if this keeps up! Luckily today I have my pole dancing class after work so I have a place to put my anxious energy.

    Hello, I am new to MFP and would love to join this group. I work a desk job all day and need an anchor for those times that I want to reach for an unhealthy snack, or skip my afternoon workout because I just want to go home. I have started this fitness journey with commitment this time, and want to lose about 20 pounds by this summer. One of my biggest challenges is not having a lot of support at home, and this gets me over the weekends! I live with my boyfriend, and he is a home-brewer and a great cook. I love him for it, but I always feel like he takes it personally if I don't want to join him for an evening beer, or eat something delicious he has cooked because it would take me over my daily calorie goal. It is a struggle to find that happy medium! I also think he fears I am going to leave him behind as I get into better shape. Has anyone else here dealt with a similar home challenge?

    Happy Hump Day! :):):) I've had a few days of going over my cals, but I am still trying hard and measuring my food. I went to the gym yesterday and did 25 mins on the elliptical and lifted a few weights (trying to do a bit of weights at least 2 x a week). Got home and my neighbour asked me to walk the dog, so that was an extra hour of exercise! Today, going to the gym after work!!! Gotta keep sweating!

    SarahBelle - welcome to the group! I would like to lose 20 lbs by summer too (actually, I would like to lose way more than that, but I would be very happy with 20!) I'm sure tons of people have the same problem with not having the support at home. Just try your best and maybe save a few extra calories for the evening so you can share food/drinks with your bf. Hopefully he will maybe start making more healthier versions of the foods. keep your exercise up and keep on point during the day as much as you can!!

    pudgy - sorry that you struggle with depression. I've struggled with it myself at times. If you need help, please call someone you trust or call 1-800-273-8255.

    Rachel - doesn't it feel good to know that you are better off at the job you already have? I think that's awesome. Yes, it would be nice to make more money, but I also agree that it's not worth it if it will affect my quality of life. You are doing awesome with all of your classes and exercise programs - I still can't believe it was $50 for 6 weeks of personal training! I would love to do that !! Also, I can only do 10-12 full pushups, and then I'm spent! So good on you! Isn't strength your word this year? :)

    Jen - glad to hear your bf is ok after the car accident. That's enough to put small fights into perspective! Not important! I think everyone is a little itchy this time of year, just with the weather and the downer of being after Christmas etc. And what do people do - they usually take it out on those closest to them. Keep up the good work with the steps and exercise, and back awayyyyy from the girl scout cookies! LOL!

    SHYANNE! OMG porn in the morn?! HAAAAA!!!! that made me laugh out loud, that is so frickin funny! I can't say I would be interested in watching that while I eat breakfast, but hey! LOL!!! The girls getaway sounds fab, you are going to have the best time. :)

    Jane, sorry Alistair was sick again. That sucks! Thankfully you have an understanding employer. Hopefully everyone is back to their healthy selves and you can make the best of the rest of the week!

    Hope everyone has a great day today - set a goal for yourself, whether it is to drink 8 glasses of water, do 30 mins of cardio or no snacking after dinner. (Mine are all three for today!)
