Found two gorgeous dresses--totally lucked out bc there were only four dresses at two dept stores that even fit...they were all too big! (Serious lack of variety in anything smaller than an 8). Got tons of compliments all night--no one could believe I have 4 kids (baby is 18 mo). Felt awesome

I bought a pair of size 10 jeans. I started in size 28 (4x).56

You clothing-keepers must have ginormous closets. Or a high tolerance for overstuffed ones.
Laughed when I read this. For years I desperately/optimistically kept a ton of clothes that were too small and my closets were stuffed to the max - even when I changed wardrobes seasonally (from boxes in the attic)... now ALL my clothes fit nicely into my closet. Summer AND winter. Still not used to that. Don't think I ever will be.13 -
This past weekend I helped a friend move on Saturday and then went x-country skiing on Sunday. After lifting and carrying heavy boxes and furniture all day I was really tempted to cancel my skiing plans. But I sucked it up, popped some advil, and put my skis on. I was a little worried that I was gonna crap out halfway through or slow my friend down too much, but I didn't! I did the whole trail and I kept up with her. Definitely a huge improvement for this novice skier! Last year I couldn't keep up with her on a good day!25

I've had a YMCA membership for almost a year and have only ever taken one group class. I'm an introvert and have a hard time convincing myself to do new things. One of my goals for myself this year was to try another group class. Saturday morning I went to Muscle Pump and once I got over the nervousness of having no idea what I was doing I ended up really like it!33

I have only lost 25 lbs so far on a journey to loss 82 more, but I did a three hour yoga workshop yesterday with my friend..I have never done yoga before. I did it, it wasn't pretty lol, but I always wanted to try and I am going back!29

Went clearance shopping this weekend. Found a jacket I liked and tried it on was okay but a little big so tried on the next size down and fit well. In April 2016 I tried on all my pants and shorts and had 22 pair that were too small so they went up on the top shelves in the closet. About once a month I tried them on and gradually more that would fit until all were wearable. And also tried on everything again when I switched from summer to winter season and found a lot that were now too big. I have gotten rid of most of the things that are too big so now the closet is getting a little bare. I have found some things are thrift stores or an occasional clearance rack find but as I am about half way to my goal I haven't done a lot of shopping yet.17

When my manager came into work after a vacation and said, "you're losing weight!" She didn't ask if I was - she could tell! She asked how much I've lost so far and I said 26.5lbs!19

Two NSVs here. One is that I got out yesterday in the freezing cold and did the first day of C25K. I finished the whole thing and ran...er...jogged when I was supposed to. It was a huge accomplishment for me because I never work out!
Secondly, I went to a buffet with my family that is a 2 hour drive away. When we go, it's a big deal so we usually eat like there's no tomorrow. I ate a lot but I stayed within my calories for the day! I was so excited!26 -

Fellow introvert here. I walked into the yoga class at the Y this morning and walked right back out again because it was so crowded. I still worked out, but was can't decide if I chickened out or was just smart about my choices. I can do yoga at home just fine, but I thought I might like the group setting.8 -

Did (walked) my 2nd 5K of the month yesterday, with my husband, 13 YO, a colleague (and our littles), and a friend from MFP! It wasn't our fastest pace by any means because we stopped for photo ops and enjoyed the sights along the way, but it was hubby's 4th 5K in as many months, my stepdaughter's second (this month!), and we all had a great time.22

7 months sober, 2 sizes smaller in pants, still have the boobs, and today the dog and I did 1.7 miles in 20 mins (down from 30 just last week). Next is trying to find a sports bra that actually fits the boobs as I have been incredibly unsuccessful in this endeavor

I have several of these and LOVE them. I am a D (down from and EE when at my heaviest) and my boobs dont move when I jump or dance or any other vigorous workout activities.5 -

2) Very fit, strong looking male (and at least 25 years my junior) used the weight machines after me and I just happened to notice that he had to reduce the weights, I get such a perverse pleasure out of seeing this. My husband thinks that I'm sick . . . he may be right.
3) None of last week's kettlebell class attendees returned this week except me. Wonder why? And my legs aren't hurting as much as they have been after classes. Tomorrow or Wednesday it'll hit me I think Looking forward to it already. I also had to laugh (internally) as it was the lady next to me's first class and halfway through she whispered to me that she "hated and wanted to kill" the instructor (he's a really nice guy as well). I told her that it gets easier to cope with. She may or may not be back next week.
4) Spent the morning with my dad in hospital (he's okay, it's nothing too serious). Thought that my bike ride was a goner however, the hospital were really efficient (for the NHS) but it rained all of the way home, so I was resigned to no cycle ride today (didn't go yesterday either as too cold and wet; cold I can do, wet I can do but the two combined is a bit much for me). But after a morning in a hospital, I really need the "time out" that cycling gives me; it's my cure-all to everything
Got home, rain had stopped and it was merely darkly overcast. So off I went. With new (and deadly) brakes fitted by my darling husband.
The wind picked up. I cycled.
It started raining. I carried on cycling.
It rained really hard. I carried on.
I stupidly decided to go up a hill I've not gone up before (as it looked like it was a shortcut), swerved to avoid a pothole and came off. But I got back on and after a bit of a wobble (hill starts are killers on a bike) I got up that darn hill. My heart rate monitor kindly advised me that my maximum HR had hit 176 (the highest it's ever been recorded) so that demonstrates how wicked that hill was. Not sure I'll be doing that one again
The wind got worse. A direct headwind. I carried on cycling. At some points I could have got off and walked faster than I was cycling but I was on a bike ride, right? So I carried on cycling.
The rain had obliterated my sight; I had to peer short-sightedly over the top of my glasses. But I carried on cycling!
I got home 21 miles later, cold, tired, completely soaked and pretty much unable to see (where's Hermione when you need an "impervious" charm??) BUT totally, totally exhilarated and feeling so much better mentally.
5) My teenage daughter told me that my "bat-wings" (under-arm flaps) have greatly improved and are much smaller since I started strength training. My only issue with this is that my dominant side is weaker than the other side and so the flappy bit is still bigger than the other side. A minor annoyance which I need to work on.
6) My daughter also stated that she wants to go to the gym with me (her old mother, of all people!).
Pretty good day today. I am so happy. And I actually feel more "alive" today than I have in several months.
Just hope that tomorrow is as good49 -

Just almost went to the store solely to buy vegetables to have for dinner, and actually laughed when I realized that not having a bunch of veggies one night is not a big deal (especially because the main dish is stuffed peppers!). But it's something that definitely wouldn't have crossed my mind a year or two ago. The main reason I didn't go to the store was so I wouldn't buy drinks/desserts lol so that's NSV number two I guess!22

You're not sick.... cause if you are, so am I. It truly is a perverse pleasure (especially if it's a work colleague who's been on your case about your food intake, cause you can't lose weight eating that crap)
Oh and I am jealous of your perseverance for bicycle riding... You're amazing!8 -

You're not sick.... cause if you are, so am I. It truly is a perverse pleasure (especially if it's a work colleague who's been on your case about your food intake, cause you can't lose weight eating that crap)

As for the bike riding, I just get a huge kick out of it. I love, love, love to cycle. The winter season is annoying as it stops me doing what I want to do, and slows me down considerably. Roll on spring when I'll be off out at 5am for a 30-mile bike ride instead of hitting the gym
And being amazing - that's a lovely thing to say and thank you for the compliment. I don't see myself as amazing, I'm just an ordinary person doing something she now regrets not doing years ago I'm just grateful I saw sense and decided to sort my poor body out before it got too late.9 -
@Madwife2009 That's the definition of amazing to me because you are a role model that someone working on getting themselves sorted can aspire to. I also wish I'd gotten my act together a good 20 years ago when I was young. Life would have been so much easier.
There's more of us 'ordinary people' out there than you might think and some of us could sometimes use another 'ordinary person' as a role model
I'll be getting back onto the bike soon since my daily commute starting September will include somehow getting myself to the nearest train station (7km). Walking to the nearest bus stop takes 15 minutes + nearly 20 minutes to cover the 7km in the bus. I figured biking the 7km would take me around 30 minutes at the beginning (google maps calculates 20 minutes but I'm way out of practice).
I've been researching bikes online and will be going to a bike shop on Friday to test my top candidates and hopefully order.
I guess that alone counts as an NSV since I stopped riding bikes about 15 years ago. I remember enjoying the ride to the lake a whole lot more than swimming at the lake when I was a kid. So I guess there's hope for me yet.12 -
