I did that a couple weeks ago during the Patriots game with frozen strawberries.2 -
I have found my people! Add me, if y'all want.6

I could use some more folks in this category myself. I'm trying to lose (like everyone else), but I don't think you have to eat perfectly clean or that you can't enjoy a cake or some soda so long as it's accounted for, ya' know? If you want to add me, feel free!
It's nice to see there are others on here who don't believe you need to give up everything delicious in the world simply to lose weight (seriously, what would be the point of enjoying food or drink then?).5 -
Chef_Barbell wrote: »So I know you guys are eating something good for the Super Bowl this Sunday. What's on tap?
I'm thinking all the wings in the world and either nachos or chips and some type of layered dip. Brownies maybe for dessert.
Part of me keeps wanting veggies and I keep having to tell that voice to shut up.
In all seriousness, there may be some veggies...probably...most likely....we'll see.
This is what I am making:
Buttermilk soaked buffalo wings
Pulled pork sliders
BBQ Bacon cheeseburger meatballs
Chips/homemade guac/homemade pico
popcorn
regular potato chips with homemade Greek Yogurt ranch dip
Baked macaroni and cheese
Pot of chili with cornbread poppers
Sausages and Hot dogs
Baby back ribs
Philly cheesesteak sliders
Baked ziti
We are doing a tequila punchbowl style drink in red (for the Falcons) and a vodka style punchbowl drink in blue for the Patriots.
Plenty of beer (of course)
Dessert will be cupcakes decorated in red and blue, cheesecake from scratch and the tears of Patriot fans after the Falcons win.
What time should I arrive?
GO FALCONS!

How I wish my mother would have made me eat my veggies instead of fried baloney sandwiches.... but I'm not blaming. I just like some stuff, but I've finally learned that limitations are better for me.

My wife and I will be the couple in the corner quietly munching. We may look familiar, like the friends of a cousin of a long lost uncle that you met once long ago, but can't quite remember where or when
LOL!!! :laugh:1 -

Holy great idea!! I am changing my punch bowls to jello shots!2 -
I love birthdays! My son's birthday was yesterday and we had an awesome dinner with super yummy appetizers (mostly crazy good cheese with crackers). Plus, turkey burgers, potato salad, and baked beans for dinner AND cake AND ice cream. I had ALL the things.
...and today is back to regularly scheduled programming (eating).5 -

And they do the PERFECT oatmeal raisin!
Nah, sorry - I can't stand raisins! My hubby tries to get me to eat them by reminding me they're just shrivelled grapes, but I really don't like the taste OR the texture!
Hhaaaagghhkkk raisins are VILE. I will go full toddler and refuse to eat them if they are presented to me. I don't care how long you slaved over X if it has raisins it is NOT going into my mouth!1 -
Wow I am just the master of good formatting LOLOL3

Super bowl, it is just the two of us this year. So we are doing the following:
Chips with salsa and guacamole
Individual homemade pizzas (his: all the meats; mine: margherita)
Chocolate cobbler with vanilla ice cream
* I am sure there will be some beer in there too.5 -

Yep. I guess it can also be super demotivating when you're excited and proud of your progress and then someone stops by just to point out the not healthy parts instead of focusing on how much more healthy you are now than when you began.3 -

I loved fried bologna sandwiches when I was not a vegetarian...with cheese :P and mayo.2 -

One time, when I lived with my 2 older kids and my parents, the kids and I had to stay at a hotel for a week because they were working on the house with some unsafe fumes....we ate fast food nonstop every single day lol2 -
I do try to keep some degree of sanity around what I eat, since I would like to actually get nutritional value from what I'm consuming...but that said, I have 4 Oreo cookies every afternoon, I ate a full bag of Doritos last night just because I felt like it, and tonight I'm going out for burgers, fries, and beer with some buddies. Life's too short to get obsessive.6

Yep... hubby will sometimes try to shove a raisin in my mouth, just because we're children like that, and I clamp my lips tight and refuse to budge no matter how much he tries! It's worse if it's a chocolate-covered one, because then we get messy, but I still won't eat it!
(Although I will admit, since it's just us here (it IS just us here, right?), that in the distant past if I was really desperate for a taste of chocolate I'd suck the coating off the chocolate raisins and spit the raisin out... It made the chocolate taste funny, though, so that was a really last-ditch attempt to get some!)7 -
Sabbath tonight! Going to have me 4 oz of fresh challah, pasta with chickpeas in a curry-seasoned tomato sauce (recipe originally called for Indian chickpea noodles, but I couldn't find them and the cookbook said I could sub in capellini pasta) and hummus, veggie pate, a couple of other salads...
And tomorrow, potato kugel, a frosted cookie, maple apple cake...7 -

Kugel is the tastiest food ever and I miss it because the only one I ever tried had meat in it (bacon). I wish I could find vegetarian kugel nearby! It might be my favorite food.1 -

I actually love chocolate covered raisins (raisinettes), but I strongly dislike raisins by themselves.1 -
Tonight is burgers and fries for us. Yum.

Me me me!!! I literally eat WHATEVER I want. The first time around losing weight I kinda restricted myself so as soon as I went back to my "normal eating" I binged my *kitten* off. It lasted for almost a year so this time around I'm losing weight eating all the things I love. I'm just being more cautious with what I eat and switching things out. So far, so good6

If there are any Jewish/kosher stores nearby, you're likely to find potato and/or noodle kugel there. Less common would be carrot, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, mushroom, and Yerushalmi (sweet and sticky noodles) varieties. And I definitely can't keep it in the house. I'm just lucky my synagogue provides it as part of the post-services buffet.1 -
Right here! Stayed under my calorie goal the past few days even though my diary has included items such as pizza, Doritos, and reeses puffs. I generally do try to eat healthy but sometimes pizza happens. Plus husband has been home and that makes dieting so much harder for me3

Love this thread. I'm yet another person who doesn't care what I eat, so long as I feel healthy, am healthy and am at a deficit. Every time I go to medical on base they're astonished that I'm a Chief and my blood pressure is as low as it is (92/64 is pretty average for me).
And yet today, because I slept the day away and had nothing else, I ate a whole cornish game hen and white rice with seaweed and sesame seed seasoning in it.
Because MFP would yell at me for not eating enough, I finished the day with the leftovers of my daughter's lunch. Kraft Macaroni and Cheese FTW. Gotta love that completely unnatural brilliantly orange processed food product!
Tried the 'clean eating' thing for a week while on leave. Ran immediately for the donuts at the end of the week and gorged myself on M&Ms from the vending machine at work as soon as I returned. Those of you who like it, good on ya. It's not for this ol' gal.6
