Wondering what others have set as a reward for themselves when they reach mini and over goals?

I made mini goals for every 5 pounds like a massage or pedicure or getting a new pair of workout pants or a swimsuit. I made them non-food related and things I generally don't splurge on often.4

Didn't think of those! I'm looking to fill in my last two. I have mine set for every 10lbs. Have the first 20lbs set but was hoping by asking others I would get some ideas for my last 20lbs. Thanks0 -
I just took a list of things I really want, but rarely buy myself, and set them down for each 10 pounds lost, as well as bigger milestones (onederland, BMI changes, goal, etc.). Some examples would be: a facial, new art for my apartment, a particular bracelet I've been wanting, a few books, etc. Big goal is a trip to CA + shopping my (hopefully) little heart out.2

My rewards are lifting PRs, and new veins in shoulders and abs. When I want stuff, I just buy it. I prefer for my rewards to be things that money can't buy. Yes, I'm weird.8

my 75 pound reward for myself was a new tattoo. . tried posting a picture but cant figure out how to scale it down and no one needs to see my foot that big. . lol4

new clothes...and may sound a bit stupid but iv never been into painting my nails but i was looking for excuses to walk more, And something to keep my hands busy. Fairly often ill walk an hour each way to the dollar store thats semi far away grab some nail polish and come home and do my nails. Burns the calories, Gives me a purpose in my walk, Keeps my hands busy for an hour i cant be eating, And i feel pretty

I also got a new tattoo at 75 pounds on my thigh I love it so much it reminds me why i do this3 -

there is a ton of psychological research between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation (so much so that I had to take an entire graduate psych class on motivation. Ultimately, some folks are motivated by things (small rewards etc) and others by intrinsic (doing it for yourself etc)3 -

But I'm also motivated by things like "streaks" of days with over 60 min of activity on Google Fit and putting money on losing weight (I won January - and now I need to work hard to win February).
If looking forward to a massage or a pedicure or new clothes makes it easier to skip that food you shouldn't eat, or get out and exercise, then do the thing that works for you. If you don't need that... cool story, bro.2 -

SAME here.
mani/pedi, massage, random kitchen gadget I want (but don't need), new workout top/bottom, some sort of fancy bath/body product (scented epsom salts or a new moisturizer)2 -

My body rewards me by letting me keep my teeth. It's a pretty awesome reward.6 -
I don't know if I call it a 'reward', but I put the $ back into myself: new workout shoes, equipment, etc. This, and - the best 'reward' is the shower after the workout, and feeling that you kicked it again....lol!2

My body rewards me by letting me keep my teeth. It's a pretty awesome reward.
Exactly just like getting to/maintaining one's weight is a big part to being healthy, being able to run with your grandkids,etc. Extremely awesome reward.2 -

By believing my family's bullcrap about "big-boned" and "genetics". I was obese before I was ten. It took me less than a year to undo 20+ years of damage, once I realized that they were full of *kitten*.5 -
I think you should do whatever works for you to help reach your goals and stay there.6

Every 7lbs I get an order of nice bath stuff in and fancy face cream etc and every 14lbs will be new trainers or clothes when I reach my goal I'm going to have a KFC family bucket2

I've never considered giving myself a reward....my motivation is to feel attractive, my ex hammered it into my head that I would never be attractive unless I lost weight (I was a size 14), and considering I'm 31 and haven't dated in 5 years, I think he may be right. So, maybe my reward will be a husband :P2

Lots of awesome ideas! Surprised at the some what negative comments though. If you're not into giving your self a reward for all the hard work you've done fine. But whats to point in commenting if you're only going to be negative about something that helps others stay on track?4

Is there really any need for all the negativity and rudeness on here? Good for you if you have found losing weight easy but maybe try supporting people rather than putting their methods down. I’m all for rewarding mini goals and milestones, yes the health benefits and shrinking frame are motivating enough but when you have a lot to lose this can take a long time to come and having rewards along the way can help with the motivation and focus. I treat myself to something I’ve had my eye on for every 10lbs lost, 2lbs to go until I’ve reached 30lbs, I have a ring picked out ready to buy when I get there.5

When I get to my final goal, I plan to get myself a nice piece of jewelry--maybe a ring or a watch--that I will see every day to remind myself to stay on track. For now, I'm just rewarding myself with new clothes!2

I haven't really used rewards for mini-goals. New clothes are just an essential to me as the 52W looks really stupid on me now, so that's not really a reward. I know that I have plans to do some things this summer I couldn't do before, like zip-lining or being pulled in a parachute behind a boat. And I have those to look forward to, but I just don't have any little things that I am looking forward to ,
Having said that, I've no issue with folks wanting to get themselves something for milestones. I think it's a great idea and don't get all the negativity towards it. Really is annoying to read.1 -
I change the color of my band on my Apple Watch, its a tiny thing - like $10, but a good visual reminder to me. 5 more pounds and I get to go to yellow!5

I've been married and divorced twice now. Told my current girl that I refuse to get married again until I can total Master in two different weight classes, and elite in one. She was amused, and approved. Luckily for me, she's never been too keen on the idea of marriage anyway.0
