New territory for me today- 141.0! I've been eating within 1200 cals- even with exercise. I guess that's my limit for now. Need to do weights more- a goal for the month. By the way, the enchiladas were great. Happy weekend all!1

Yep. I'm 5'2". Current weight 142. I was 180 a couple years ago. I've been up to 190! Got down to 127 a year ago and then maintained at 135 for several months but it's creeping back on. Would like to stay between 130-135. It's not easy!0

Sunday Weigh In -- Finishing Week #13 (91 days)
SW: 155.6 - 12/4/2016
PW: 138.2
CW: 138.6
GW: 122
Very late post as I should have posted Sunday. No treadmill time but have been gotten my daily walking up over 10,000 steps. What's been most important is that my eating has remained on track. So, as I try to get my mind back in the game, and keep reminding myself a bit of weight fluctuation isn't falling off the wagon.
I've been a bit bummed because I'm in a Biggest Loser type contest at work - then got sick and haven't been back on my exercise. Now, I'm off to work to weigh and see how I did compared to my colleagues!0 -
Me too I have a lot to lose but I am going to do it. CW 199, GW 129. Was 5'3 all my life now only 5'2 oh no gravity?? lol0
-
That's great your food has been on track! I'm sure your exercise will be back on in no time, especially once you jump back on that treadmill! I find for me an hour or so on gives over 9k steps! The treadmill is my escape since I'm not comfortable running outside by myself.1

Best news for me for last week is I wore my size 8 jeans to work on jean day and felt great! Nice to be wearing new jeans that are a little baggie. Hope each of us has a week with a little more "bag" this week than last!
It's amazing that for you 138 is a size 8, and 141 for me is a size 12. Of course, now I'm 143 (go figure). Our bodies are all different and wonderful. I have my 10's standing by, but my 8's are packed away. I was an 8- 2 short years ago. I was a ten until last fall, and I bought one pair of 12's thinking I'd shrink out of them in a few weeks. Fast forward 10 weeks....I bought more 12's.
I'm a little frustrated about my lack of progress, but I'm trying to do this right this time- not giving up tasty food and moving more. It's hard to keep logging, but I just joined another accountability group for March. I suggest everyone do a challenge like this. There were times I didn't eat something, and other times I worked out because of it. Good luck everyone- but we know there's not much luck involved. It's hard work, but we're moving forward!
Interesting! I carry a lot of my extra weight in my thighs. Watching the weights people are shooting for is interesting to me because of clothes size. Juliemarget, for instance, has said she's shooting for 115. While a whole group of us have small frames and are of similar heights, I've wondered why we choose the weight goals we each have. Clothes was why I picked 122. When I was 118, I felt terrific but I couldn't find clothes that fit -- at least that's my memory. I didn't have that problem at 122.
Here's hoping we all maintain the course of eating well and getting lots of movement and each get to find our happiest weight.0 -
The results are in! I was 1st place in the weight loss challenge at work that started January 13th. Took home $187.50 from the pool. I know my percentages aren't really accurate because the nurse told me people would be wearing heavier clothes on the first weigh in and stripping down on the last. So, I played that game. The official numbers had me losing 11% of my body weight, 2nd place 8%, and 3rd place 5%. My actual weight loss was 9,3% of my body weight.
This group and our regular postings are part of the reason for my success! Thanks, gang!3 -

I'm 5 ft 2 and weigh 205 pounds. I've been feeling down about it, like I might as well just accept myself like this because I go well for a month or so then give up when work pressures hit. How on earth do people stay so consistent?? When I see 40+ pound losses, just wow. That's so amazing to me.
Just this once I don't want to fail!! You are all doing great. How can I curb my huge appetite, advice gladly accepted.0 -

I"m not the best person to answer this question cause I'm too uptight about things that people like Juliemargaret don't seem to be. But she and I agree the key is eating well and moving more.
Here's a longer answer.
I think there are a number of factors but I'll mention just a couple here. A key for me is to do something for a month that I can continue to do for my life. I won't do fad diets. I won't say I'm on a diet. I start eating well and move more. That's my life goal - eat well and move. And when people ask about my weight lose, that's what I tell them. "I started eating well and moving more." What I've noticed is how often people are disappointed in that answer! But it is the only thing that works that will permanently allow me to maintain.
I've never been a big water drinker. Didn't care for it. I'm working on that and have been much more consistent and it has had good positive results. For some reason I can see the benefits now and couldn't before. I'm still working on the consistency.
My goal is not to lose the weight it is to keep it off. I loss all of this weight before. A big change happened in my life and I wasn't able to adapt. Then, I couldn't get myself in the game. Depression had something to do with that. But I can see how food impacts my mental health. And it can be a downward spiral from there. It has been interesting to me to see what people eat. Some people who are losing are eating the right number of calories but the food isn't nutritious. This isn't sustainable. I made my first changes in healthy eating back in the late eighties when a group came to our offices and did some assessment of our health - don't even recall what they did. At that point, I made a conscious effort to start eating more chicken than beef. I developed bad eating habits, believe I'm addicted to some of the chemically made sugars so sweets I eat, I make sure they are natural sugar.
I also record every single morsel of food I eat. It is absolutely essential. The new softwares are so much easier and quicker than the EXCEL spreadsheet I set up and used for years. It makes NO sense to cheat. I never had difficulty with this concept but am surprised at how many people will say they aren't going to record something they ate because it is too many calories. Get past any tendency to cheat. By recording the reality I face my slips and mistakes. I use to watch my calories over the week and realized if I went over one day because I was hungry, I also had days I was under and on a weekly basis, it all evened out. Did I get a stuff feeling - no. But that's not the purpose of food. If I can't figure out the calories, I don't eat it. This means, for a long time, I only ate food I complete control over or could get the the info I needed. I know many people don't feel they have that luxury because they won't refuse food offered at work, etc. I opted to take care of myself first.
For me, the nutritious food gave me more fiber and more protein. These combined didn't leave me hungry. Activity that isn't excessive. I'm a fan of heart rate monitors because I had to learn at what intensity I had to work and needed data.
At one point on my journey I realized I was spending too much time talking about weight loss online and what I needed to be doing is getting out and doing something physical. On that note. I'm outta here to make my weekly post.2 -
Sunday Weigh In -- Finishing Week #14 (98 days)
SW: 155.6 - 12/4/2016
PW: 138.6
CW: 136.6
GW: 122
Weighing myself every day I know I've been losing each week but because of what I ate on Saturday, it just didn't show up till this week. This two pounds represents about 3 weeks. Consistently back to getting my 10,000 steps most days but still haven't returned to the treadmill. Out of town for spring break so I'll just be walking each day enough to get my steps.
Here's to eating well and moving more!3 -
