Can anyone shed some light for me on now low fat or fat free Greek yogurt can be included in clean eating recipes when the ingredient list is huge and full of junk? And the full fat type is 300 calories for a cup!!! Help!!

What ingredients are listed? In the one I eat (low fat) the ingredients list is: "Cows' milk".

If there are none then I would be seriously concerned what is in this 'yogurt' lol.3

That's basically what I was coming to post about 0% and 2% Fage, which have the same limited ingredients as those listed for the Chobani.
Maybe my yogurt experience is limited, but I've never seen a low fat or skim yogurt that was unflavored with added stuff (it's only different from the full fat in that they use skim or low fat milk).
Whether it's "clean" or not, dunno, as it's still obviously processed (not that there's anything wrong with that), but this idea that plain yogurt has a bunch of extra ingredients added is not something I've run into.7 -

"Clean eating" has dozens of different meanings. And yeah, yogurt includes cultures. They aren't "junk".10

Incidentally the reason yougurt is recommended by our GPs when we have tummy issues is because these bacteria are helpful in digestion.0

I would like to point out that I am not the OP, and I only posted an example of a nonfat Greek yogurt so they'd know there are brands out there that don't have all the extra ingredients that some of the other brands do. (Usually the flavored ones)
If this means I'm trolling, then so be it.13 -
be careful of all the sugar that is in yogurt. I stopped eating it for that reason.0

I just looked at my Fage 0 Greek Yogurt - it is only skim milk and yogurt cultures. Nothing huge or junky.4

I mistook you for the OP. I was basically arguing with what in my imagination was the OP complaining about the bacteria.

I have no issues with lactose. I believe it can be an issue if you are lactose intolerant.4 -

The sugar in plain yogurt is natural (lactose). Flavored yogurt has added sugar, but not plain. And if you don't have a reason to watch your sugar intake, it's fine in moderation.11 -

The chobani 0% yogurt i eat has 3.2g of sugar per 100g. The full fat one has 2.7g sugar. Hardly a huge amount of sugar, pretty minimal IMO.
The flavoured yogurts can sometimes have around 10g per 100g, still not a lot of sugar if you ask me.5 -
Thank you everyone. I wasn't referring to the cultures as junk. Obviously this is the primary reason to eat the yogurt. I was reading containers at Walmart and got frustrated and gave up. I don't recall the brands but this post makes me more comfortable that I can find something without additives and extras. Thanks again for the links.2
