Ran 1.6miles in 16 minutes without walking. Ran the other 14 minutes (to get to 30) with 5 minutes of walking interspersed. It's way off of last years 29 minute 5k, but a great start after a long time off.19

I've had a few T-Shirts for years that I refused to throw away because 'they'll fit one day'. And they finally fit - it's a shame they are now massively dated, but at least I'll get rid for the right reasons27

I saw a picture of me at my hightest weight earlier today and was taken back. Its only been 40lbs but the change in even my face alone is crazy. Its been hard noticing weight lose from day to day but the diffrence over months is crazy.25

I was unable to complete my work out today - only did about 10 minutes before we had a plumbing emergency at our house this evening, and I didn't freak out about either (not getting to finish my work or the plumbing issue)! It may sound silly, but that was one of my original goals: to be "ok" when life intervened with a workout!28

I was sitting in church yesterday and glanced down at my lap. (When else would you stare at your lap? lol!)
My knees were smaller and closer together and my upper thighs were noticeably thinner!28 -

Today was a big one for me, I've been working on the c25k program and accidentally skipped ahead two weeks (Week 4 Day 2) but powered through it anyways. I managed to hit 5k in exactly 30 minutes!!31

Had to videotape myself teaching today and watched it all without cringing too much! I actually looked like what I thought I would look like, or better, not the person I was 70 lbs ago.. Big improvement26

50 day streak.
This is huge for me. Over the past few years I have been an on-again, off-again, member of MFP. Logging was half-hearted at best and, needless to say, I didn't lose any weight.
This time I made a commitment to myself and have consistently logged for 50 days. And, surprise (!!), the weight is slowly coming off.

With getting back into lifting this year (took a year off and got soft) I'm starting to see some nice contours and muscle definition all over my body again. I look smoking hot for my age. Actually, I'm looking pretty awesome for any age...27

Also, I wasn't feeling great at 5:30 this morning when I got up, but after puttering around the house for a while I headed out and started week 4 of C25K and it went way better than I expected. I just went to my happy place during the 5 minute runs and did pretty good.

I've never had much core strength, and I thought four babies totally shot what I had left.
BUT...1) a friend was showing me some new an exercise she was doing. I tried it the next day and had to check i was doing it right because it felt too easy!
And even better, 2) I realized I can actually do those bicycle crunches with full range of motion (elbow to knee, other leg hovering an inch off the floor) in slow-mo for at least a minute without dying!! Previously I'd just flail around as fast as I could and maybe my arms might move, maybe not, and my legs wouldn't be out fully or down at all. It was ugly. But now, not a problem!!23 -
I did TWO sets of six pull-ups last night! Ten in a row is going to happen!38

Last week I ran a mile in 12:30 instead of 14:15. I thought it was a mistake. Maybe the gps on my phone messed up? Since then, I've ran the same mile 2 more times and got around 12:30 both times. I have no clue what changed to cause such a huge jump in my time.26

@Lucy1752 & @SueSueDio - (waves madly) - I'm still here and both the bike and I are fine @Lucy1752 - your comment brought the biggest smile to my face; have had a rotten day with a moody teenager hurting me emotionally (as they do, I suppose) so your comment was extremely well-timed.
I'm still cycling like a thing possessed but not much interesting stuff to tell really. I don't like to be a bore either I've managed to get out every day for the last five days (an astounding feat, considering the weather we've had - cold, rain, wind, generally miserable). Total mileage so far this month = 75 miles. Tomorrow's forecast is rain all day so a trip out tomorrow is doubtful; light rain won't deter me but anything else might.
A few days ago the weather looked wonderful (sunny) through the windows so decided to go out for a cycle. Got the bike out of the garage and then it started to gently rain. But I'd kitted up, I'd got the bike out, so I was going to go for my cycle ride.
Got a few yards up the road and the rain REALLY started, so I was pretty well soaked within minutes of leaving home. Decided that as I was already soaked, I may as well carry on, so I did, all through the intermittent downpours and sunny spells. I cycled for about 85 minutes and went through cycles of getting wet, drying out, getting wet . . . etc, etc, etc. Felt rather like being in a washer-dryer! I think that by the time I got home, I'd been soaked about four times. I got home very wet and cold but a bath and change of clothes sorted that problem out.
On Saturday I went out again, even though it looked very much like we were in for a major storm. Luckily we didn't get it as it went north of my route but I did see a gorgeous rainbow. Sadly my phone camera isn't very good but you can just see the rainbow, the dark sky is something else though - I was certain that I was in for another dowsing!
On another occasion (day before yesterday I think) I looked out of the window and again saw it was dry and "sunny". I didn't notice the trees opposite our home bending with the wind. Noticed it once I'd got out of the shelter (sheltered on all sides by houses, hedges and fences) of our road though. I have no idea how strong the winds were but I was traipsing up (OK, slogging up in the lowest gear I have) a hill with a head wind and hardly making any progress at all - it would have been faster to get off and push but I stuck to my guns of I was on a CYCLE ride, so I was going to CYCLE, never mind being overtaken by a runner who was clearly more crazy than I. That was a bit embarrassing, being overtaken by a runner until I realised that not only was I trying to get myself up said steep hill but also the weight of the bike plus kit and against a head wind. He only had himself to propel and he was clearly very practiced at running. I felt slightly better then until I saw said runner laughing. Next time . . . .
Got to the top of the hill (eventually) and found myself in a cross wind that was pretty ferocious and was doing its best to knock me off the bike, sideways. At one point I was nearly off and hitting the bank then I sussed out that I had to ride the bike tilted into the wind. It was a most surreal experience - I guess it must be like on a windsurfer, leaning into the wind. I've never had to do that before. Seemed to work; I just had to remember to right the bike once out of the crosswind else I'd have hit the deck and probably been flattened by a mad motorist
Today's ride was pretty uneventful. Got soaked by a thoughtless driver hitting a large puddle at high speed, the spray went up over his car and smacked me in the face (and everywhere else I imagine but I only felt it hit my face), the headwind seemed determined to stop me no matter what direction I went in - I'm sure that the wind kept changing direction and I nearly got hit by another driver who didn't realise that cyclists on cycle paths have priority over people in cars leaving pub car parks who have to drive over the cycle path to get to the road. I braked, she did an emergency stop and an accident was avoided. I'm quite used to this sort of thing by now (one problem with riding on cycle paths and roads instead of using the dedicated cycle tracks) but I felt quite sorry for the woman as she appeared to be quite shocked by it. Maybe she's not had to do an emergency stop since her driving test? Was also overtaken by a horse but to be fair, I was going up that hill again, whereas the horse/rider had six legs between them (and the horse's legs are considerably stronger than mine) and the horse was trotting. They didn;t laugh at me (well, not out loud, anyway).
More signs of the changing seasons: primroses, daffodils, leaves emerging on the trees, creatures doing what they do, nest building in progress. Bit sad that the snowdrops are going over
And, I today discovered that I don't like having to slow down when going into a speed limit - the limit was 30mph and I was well over that; I had to really yank on the brakes to slow down enough to be legal (and you never know where a policeman may be lurking). Knowing my luck I'd have been caught had I not slowed down!

@Madwife2009 You are so amazing. The laughing runner was chuckling at your determination I am quite sure! Also, you can't compete with horsepower for criminy sake!

I reached back into the closet today and pulled out a couple old casual blouses. Nothing fancy or from a particularly long time ago, but I couldn't wear them this time last year. Making progress, and expanding my clothing selection as I go20

I've been at my new job for 6 weeks. It's part time so I don't see everyone each shift. Today a lady who I haven't worked with in a week looked at my face and said there's something different about you. I've noticed my face slimming down so I'm thinking that's what she noticed. Yea! My makeup and hair are the same as always.18
