So today is free pizza Monday at the gym. I just can't wrap my head around eating pizza at the gym. I've been a member for 3 years and this is the first time I've come to the gym on pizza day. It's crazy packed up in here. Can't tell if people are here to workout or eat. I know it's a judgement free zone and all but I can't not judge people for eating while working out.

I noticed that sign the other day, I had to read it twice, I thought I was having a starvation breakdown! I've never been and never will, the idea is nuts.0
-
I eat rice krispie treats, sour patch kids, now and laters, and protein bars during my workout.
I probably wouldn't eat the pizza just because I like to be in a space where I can enjoy my food and I don't really want to sit around at the gym eating delicious pizza. Rather do it while watching an episode of Seinfeld at home.15 -
I don't believe, that most're eating dinner & then coming to, the gym to; eat again & thus it, might be a convenience factor for; many working/busy folks! A night when, they don't have; to cook & get a free meal of, course depending on how many slices'd be necessary to; constitute as a meal for them or possibly just, a snack that; they didn't have to buy/prepare Many're plausibly, just substituting something that; they would've had anyway prior or even afterwards!
As for the gym offering it, it's just another; competitive perk!5 -

Don't like the perk don't join that gym.
Don't throw stones, just be happy they were at the gym. It is ONLY for one night a month.
I know the only way I could get some of my friends to darken a gym's doorway is with free pizza.
Goodness sakes folks lighten up.25 -

How many slices did you have?2 -
I ate a chocolate covered granola bar while cooking a pizza during my workout today. I was deadlifting though, so PF would probably kick me out. My home gym has a pantry full of chocolate and alcohol twenty feet from it. Way better than some takeout pizza at Planet Fitness. Though I don't recommend consuming the alcohol until after the workout.7

It's completely fine to eat pizza at home or anywhere really. Just not at the gym.2 -

Don't forget Bagel Tuesday.0 -
I'd love if the gym I go to had pizza. I think it's awesome. I don't get what the big deal is. Don't eat it if you don't want it. At least they are sensible and realize u can't eat like a rabbit all the time. For every person who wants to lose weight there is someone who wants to gain or maintain7
-
They use that as bait to bring in and keep the useless dreamers who wants to lose weight. I heard most of the planet fitness members get easily intimidated by people who actually work out hard.1
-
Maybe they do it cause it's a nice thing to do?9

Then the issue is with you not them... unless they are wiping pizza grease over the equipment and not cleaning it up, then just ignore it. Or skip Pizza Day (whenever it is, I'm sure it's advertised).7 -
planet fitness here doesnt do that ..0

This.
I don't live in the US but I've heard of this phenomenon. And while its a good marketing strategy, it doesn't belong in a gym. Not with pizza places and all manner of junk food places on every corner. The grease smell would put me off going that day regardless.1 -
It's only once a month -_-5
-
It certainly is way more packed in that one day a month. I normally go early in the morning but I did go one pizza night cause I worked a different shift. It was packed but I saw nothing wrong with it. It's one day a month. I certainly can't judge people eating pizza when I eat pizza almost every day lol.
I will somrimes swipe a bagel on bagel Tuesday when they have that once a month in the mornings on Tuesday.7 -
It's just a strategy to get people through the door! Like neon lights.0
-
They no that most people who sign up for gym membership dont last!0
-
Its once a month. Don't go on that day if you don't like it.
When I went to planet fitness I used to get the bagel on bagel Tuesday.. no hindering to my weight loss.3 -
I don't have that at my gym. Do they not do this in the uk?
Either way I wouldn't indulge. Don't see why I would work out for an hour then undo it all with pizza!1 -
I've actually never seen this free food stampede, although I've seen the advertisements. I'm not purposely avoiding it, I just never happen to be there when it happens. Kinda glad, though, because I hate crowds.
P.S. I ALWAYS take a tootsie roll on my way out the door. Love those things...2 -
Ugh, eating (anything) in a room full of the stench of other people's sweat, feet and farts? I'll pass thanks. Would no more eat in a gym than I would make a sandwich in a public bathroom.8

I've "heard" a lot of things in life. Doesn't make them true. Maybe it depends on the individual location, but as far as I can tell, PF is just another chain gym. It's cheap, convenient, and it has the basics. They have a cheesy marketing scheme, but no one takes it seriously. The same types of people who go to all the other gyms I've been to also go to PF. They even have big-muscled grunters dead-lifting back in the free weights. Nobody cares. Plenty of judgmental folks up in there, too. You'd probably fit right in.7 -
They're carbing up before they hit the squat rack. Oh wait.....my bad, no squat racks.5
-
I joined Planet Fitness about a year ago after my previous gym raised my membership by 200%. For 0 down and $10 a month, month to month and right on my way home from work it serves my needs just fine. I think I was there once when they served pizza. Couldn't tell you if it was any good because I didn't have any.5
-
planet fitness and their free food days are like sending an alcoholic to rehab, but once or twice a month you provide them with free booze.5

Depends on the PF. Before I left mine, there was still a huge free weight section and 2 squat racks.1 -
I went to a gym years ago and they had staff walking around with chocolate coated marshmallow fish lollies, handing them out to everyone! Was quite peeved at the time, as I had been trying to avoid sugary treats.0
