I'm not saying pizza is the demon. I'm just saying that I feel that eating pizza at the gym is odd. Come work out and then go home and enjoy your pizza. Or eat pizza and then come to the gym. Pizza is amazing but I don't think it belongs in a gym.1 -

i think you are seeing workout as the only way of losing weight somehow, -the only reason why people go to gyms.
Well lets say "some" people workout to increase their cardio levels, increase their muscle mass, athleticism, overall health etc.4 -

The judgemental tone of the OP and some others is exactly why people who are out of shape or heavy are afraid to go to gyms. Who the *kitten* cares if someone eats pizza once a month at the gym? I can eat an entire large pizza in one sitting and rock the *kitten* out of my tiny bikini. Why don't we just stop judging people we don't even know? They're at the gym instead of sitting at home on the couch watching tv. I applaud them.
I know they aren't at home on the couch watching tv because they are at the gym eating pizza.0 -
I have no issue with a gym trying to draw in people. My gym - LA Fitness has customer appreciation days and usually offer some type of "healthy" treat. I would not eat pizza at the gym for 1 single reason: EWW Gyms are disgusting, dirty cesspools and the thought of potentially consuming some of those germs, literally makes my stomach churn. I understand you likely aren't eating on the workout floor... lol but just the thought is gross. And pizza is a food group for me, I'm not one to snub free pizza. If I could console my ridiculous brain enough that no sweat or other drippings contaminated the cheesy delight - I'd definitely grab a slice.
But I'm 100% not judging anyone that does participate, I just have issues apparently haha. To each their own I say And if free pizza continues to keep them joined to a gym - win.

And honestly If It Fits then what is the issue. (Would you rather it be Cake, or Beer, or Alcohol?) Personally, I am not a Planet Person, I have other issues with them, I need free weights.
But if their members enjoy it. It builds brand loyalty, maybe some friendships, and hopefully they preach healthy diets, then more power to them.
Having used a PF as a secondary cardio gym at one point, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that many, if not most people there aren't practicing any kind of dietary moderation or "fitting it in" to their calories. I could say that about most gyms I've ever belonged to though...
This one guy yesterday ate around 4 pieces of pizza. Let's say each piece was 250 cal ×4=1000. He worked out maybe for like a half hour. Idk how 1000 cals within 45 mins fits into his calories.
It would fit into mine quite easily and I am still dropping over a pound a week.6 -
Never been there on pizza day and don't think I have missed anything!0

Wow. Do people even get a membership for the equipment anymore?
Okay first of all, to use a massage chair you have to be a black card member. wtf is wrong with wanting to use one after a workout? second of all, not every PF franchise particiates in pizza and bagels. Mine does not. I get in there, do my workout, and go home. I dont use the black card spa, I bought a black card membership so I can go to any PF in the US and bring a guest. which btw, the guests don't have access to the black card spa.2 -

I am a black card member because I like to being a guest. And by " do people even get a membership for the equipment?", I meant do people even come to the gym to work out? Using a massage chair while you eat a plate full of pizza doesn't sound like a workout.0 -

The world would be a much better place if people stopped worrying about what doesn't hurt or really even affect them.8

So you know for sure that they didn't workout at all? Or are you just seeing the tail end of their time there? And so what if they only come for massages and pizza? 20/mo for a massage whenever you want, is still cheaper than a masseuse.
It's their money, their goals, their business. For the record, I have many times saved all my calories in a day for a 1,000+ calorie meal. Still managed to lose 104 lbs. Again, their goals, their business.8 -

With all the staring and judgement at others at your gym do you even have time to work out?10 -

It does affect me when the gym gets over crowded.0 -

Then go at another time. Simple fix.2 -

Actually yes. I just happen to notice the pizza traffic while I was on a treadmill.0 -

To be honest, Mondays are often crowded at all gyms. Most people are trying to make up for their "weekend" and or lack of workouts on the weekend. Monday is often a start over day for lots of folks. I guess, I would make Monday your rest day.2 -
Damn, didn't know so many people would get offended. Don't take it personal y'all. Still love you guys.0

Actually, good points about 1000 calories not being that outlandish, people.
I hadn't thought about it until now, but I racked up 859 inside an hour today. Yet my calorie total for the day came in at 1554 (which is incredibly low for me) and I am extremely confident that I will continue to lose weight.2 -

Wait what's wrong with pizza? Does it have magical fat-producing qualities that other foods don't have?2

Same, I'm no longer a member of one, but I'm not going to knock somebody for eating a free piece of pizza or a bagel.3 -
