I was so busy at work today I had my breakfast at lunchtime, so got home this evening with 900 cals to spend - fully intending on buying pizza or tortellini and pigging out I ended up making a cucumber and tuna salad with some nice tomatos and feta, and "splurged" on a slice of fig baguette. I'm still amazed I didn't opt for the "easy" option of a carb overload.28

At work laboratory has colour coded lab coats. Red is small, blue medium, yellow large, green xxl. Last time I was in there some months ago the green did not button round me. So today I tried the yellow and it was much too big. I fit comfortably in the blue. So amazing. I don't feel any smaller but I am now pretty average size, I just don't feel it.34

My chin is pointed again:)26

Did my usual treadmill routine today but managed 20 minutes of it running at 5mph. Hoping to get to 30 minutes before long.16

Shirt size went from 5XL to 4XL. Small victory but I'll take it.

Wow that's really wearing your size on your sleeve ..must be a great motivator7 -
I had the willpower to walk away from free ice cream at work today AND I'm under my calories for the day!24

I was getting changed to go out this afternoon and hubby came into the bedroom. He said "Look at you!" and I wondered what was wrong, then he added "your legs look so thin!" (They're not, but I guess compared to how they used to look there's quite a difference these days... )
Then he had to go and spoil the moment by mentioning out that one leg looks smaller than the other - and I think he's right. What's up with that? Plus the fact that they're wobbly. I know that, dear, thank you... I did point out that in order to tighten everything up I probably need a gym membership or the funds to buy my own weights, which isn't going to happen any time soon. But one day!22 -
I stayed within my calories and macros while staying home with a sick kid all day. And I even get ice cream tonight!25

Made it 5 miles today on a run. Longest run in a long time21

My sister made cookies today and told me they were ready while I was in the middle of my (treadmill) run. So two victories: 1. I finished my run instead of stopping in the middle. 2. She left me three cookies on a plate I only ate one and a half.
Also to make my treadmill run more impressive, my treadmill hasn't been running properly so after much reading and research I spent a large chunk of my day realigning and lubing the belt and cleaning out the motor rather than using it as an excuse to not run. Go me. (p.s. It's now running perfectly. Double go me.)42 -
MY NSV is a healthier hubby!! He didn't intentionally set out to lose weight last year but with the change in his eating (and juice drinking) habits, he has lowered his blood pressure AND weight by 45 lbs to date! NOW he is actively seeking to lose these last twenty pounds and regain his past impressive muscularity. :-) He told me today that "I can't shine alone"... I don't know that I'm shining or was attempting to shine... but I'll take it.... we can shine together. Lol42

absolutely not about scale, in fact not about anything related either. but freelance life is a bit of a financial rollercoaster. so every time i start a new contract i do all this [slightly] obsessive budgeting math in my head, just to make sure i keep all my bases covered until the new invoice-pay cycles take hold and i'm working again with a steady cash flow.
turns out, i somehow lapped myself in my own head last month. saw my balance earlier this week and was kind of freaked out to discover i'm about half a month richer than i'm 'meant' to be. even more worried when the accountant at the new place denied any such thing as same-day service on the invoice processing, because that left me with no explanation at all.
i went in to the actual bank today and made them walk me through it. turns out, i'm just a financial moron. but a richer one than i'd been planning to be36 -

Are you with Scotiabank? "You're richer than you think"!4 -

Halfway through second month of no BP Meds and BP holding steady42

Large work shirt looked like a sail on a ship. Had to order mediums.23

My legs hurt after my kettlebell class today. This is a good sign as it means that I've stepped things up a little, something I never thought I'd be able to do when I started the classes in January. I couldn't even do squats when I first started but during today's class I must have done 200 at least. Shame that my knee is preventing me doing lunges and some other things but as I do squats instead, they are improving beyond expectations.17

The power was out at my house yesterday during dinner time, and instead of ordering pizza, I stopped at the grocery store and got dinner from the salad bar.25

Both biceps veins visible, unflexed.
That is all.29 -
I can see what I'm shaving without horrid contortions35

The pants that I didn't like (and didn't fit), that now fit (and I now like), are becoming too long. Also, why are all my sweaters too long now??22

I've been excited for weeks waiting to get my tax refund back so that I could invest in some new clothes since most all of mine are becoming too loose (especially my work pants). Today I saw that it is set to hit my account tomorrow and for one second seriously questioned if I wanted clothes or if I wanted to order my weight set and floor mats for the basement... I'm only going with clothes because my smallest pair of dress pants are getting too big... but I really want those weights...19

Hubby and I went cross country skiing the other night and we forgot to take our headlamps. Once our eyes adjusted we realized that we could see just fine because there was a beautiful moon. When we finished and were back at the car I could feel that my cheeks hurt. At first I thought it was from the cold. Except it wasn't my skin that hurt, it was the muscles. Then it struck me; it had been such a beautiful ski under the moonlight that I had been smiling the entire way. Even on the uphills! Maybe, mad wife 2009, we just have a bigger appreciation for our ability to move because we remember what the other way of life was like
Boss took two of us out for lunch yesterday (International Womens Day and all). NSV #1 - I ordered a lunch sized portion and not a regular meal. NSV #2 - On the way back to the office my co-worker stopped at dairy queen to pick up a Blizzard for her dessert. I stayed in the car. I had the opportunity to have a Blizzard and turned the other cheek. Like THAT would have ever happened before lol27 -
My most recent NSV is my wife telling me that my pants are looking too large on me - they're apparently bunching up in the back.23

This week was week 4 of C25K for me (5 min warm-up walk, 3 min run, 90 sec walk, 5 min run, 2.5 min walk, 3 min run, 90 sec walk, 5 min run, 5 min cool-down walk). Day 1 I nearly died... The first 5 minute run was hard and the 2nd took everything in me to get through and it was a tough, ugly 5 min run.
Today was w4d2, not only did I breeze through it all - I wasn't tired after the second 5 minute run so I decided to keep running a bit longer instead of the cool down. I ran an ENTIRE 10 minutes (AND STILL COULD HAVE GONE LONGER)!!! 4 weeks ago the 1 minute run killed me... I am ecstatic!24 -
My most recent nsv is that I am finally, and for the first time in my adult life in single digit jeans. I didn't even try them on at the store. I bought a size 8 abr tried the on at home, and they fit amazing!!!!28

At my 60-minute bootcamp this morning, I watched two 'skinny/fit' girls struggle and complain at how hard the workout was. I'm not saying it was easy, and I breezed through it, but I certainly held my own and didn't look/feel as miserable as they did!23
