I'm a restaurant manager/waitress. I have a B.S. in Genetics though... just no jobs! I'm also a nondestructive inspector for the air force reserves, hoping for a full time position on base.
Genetics huh? I just saw a genetic specialist. I have EDS (ehlers danlos syndrom)... You heard of it?0 -
PA to Director of a Property Development Company
Some interesting jobs on here!!!0 -
I am a medical transcriptionist from home. I have been doing this for 15 years. I started when my kids were young so I could be home for them when they got on and off the bus, were sick, etc. I took a break from it and worked outside the home for a couple of years (needed human interaction that I could have conversations with other than about cartoons) and came back to it a couple of years ago.
It is good except in the winter when I can't get out much, but it beats having to drive to work in the snow.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to learn that.
I went to school for MEDICAL CODING, completed the program and am doing patient registration in the diagnostic imaging department of one of our area hospitals.
It has it perks but it is really not a fun job. Most of these physicians get paid the big bucks but can't put a sentence together to save their lives. I did work for a neurological company doing patient registration for awhile before coming back home, I liked the patient contact the most.
This is the best because I can set my own hours, work in my PJ's if I want, and I also have a soy wax candle business so I can work on that during the day also. It is the absolute best when it is summer and I can sit on my deck with my laptop and work.0 -
I'm a junior associate at a law firm. Like jdelisle, think the Devil Wears Prada LOL.

I am an accountant for Smith International in Houston. I recently graduated from College, but I am still working towards my Masters in Accounting. I love my job and miss my kids, but my mom retired and now I pay her to watch them after school (except my 3 year old) she gets him ALL day. They seem very happy and my husband gets home about 5PM and I get home around 7PM so there is always a family member around.0

i didn't study that particular disease, but i did study a lot about nondisjunction and all the crazy reasons why children can be born with an extra chromosome, or missing one (such as turner's syndrome where the child is missing a second sex chromosome)0 -
I have a daycare in my home, but would much rather be doing medical transcription/coding - have some education background and work experience in that.
Oh, and I'm a Home and Garden Party Designer. Great way to supplement my daycare income and let's me stay home for my kids!0 -
1. i work for a company who markets/sells disability and life insurance to school districts. i am the superdupervisor of the marketing department. we focus on broker support and help them every step of the way with their customers - proposals, sales materials, training - the list goes on. i am going on 8 years here...
2. vp/treasurer of a non-profit (mostly) cat rescue - nbcrtx.org. its like a second full time job with no pay but its totally worth it. started the group in 05, but i have been voluntering since 04.
3. part time greeter at a VW dealership, saturdays about 9 months out of the year (they are slow during the winter time). i am excited to start back around march and show off my weight loss! this job helps pay off debt and i have been there about 3 years.
busy busy busy. but if i were married and had kiddos i would be just as busy (if not more), just in a different way.0 -
A Rn at the Oklahoma State Health Dept. not as much money as when I was a labor and delivery nurse but with my teenage sons and my 10-ager daughter I needed to be home more. And my husband likes the fact I am home more too.
