Whst am I doing wrong

I've GAINED three ounces since Monday. *kitten*. I guess I need to eat less and move more. I don't know how. Damn. I mean working out at least an hour 6 days a week and 1250 a day isn't enough? Plus I'm so sore from weighted kickboxing at title boxing Monday my legs are screaming

How did you determine your calories intake? It is possible you might be eating too little

Starvation mode doesn't exist, you're unable to gain weight by; not consuming!5 -
Weight loss isn't linear. Three ounces is very likely just a normal fluctuation. This is my chart:
Also, maybe stop with the dramatics. Weight loss takes consistency and good habits. You're not helping yourself with this sort of thinking. If you find that, over the course of several weeks, you're not losing, use your critical thinking skills and adjust. If you don't know what to try, read all of these posts that are right here in front of you. There's lot of information available.20 -
You're going to, gain water weight even; when losing fat, due to sodium, muscle repair, menstruation, urine and/or feces! This' why you must wait 28 days until, determining if you're not in a caloric deficit to; create a trend!3

Three ounces?!?!?!? You're complaining about three ounces!?!??! In two days?!?!? Do you think you might have three ounces more of water in you in two days? Do you think that your soreness has caused some inflammation and, thus, you have three ounces more of fluid trying to heal the inflammation in your screaming legs?
I don't know where you are in your journey and where you are heading with your journey. I do know, I've been at this MFP thing for over five years. you can't fret over three ounces! Weight loss is not a straight line. It is an undulating one. You didn't put on whatever weight you are attempting to lose in two days and you're not going to lose it in two days. When you gained weight, it fluctuated. Same thing with losing it.
Take some pain reliever and keep at your plan. Whining about 3 ounces in two days is a waste of your time and energy.14 -
3oz is well below the weight normal fluctuation - drink a glass of water and you've "gained" more than 3oz.
Calm down, stick to your plan, and don't react to these micro changes.

Sorry, but no. Eating too little will not mean weight gain. It might mean a slower loss than you'd otherwise expect from the straight math, and it will definitely mean malnutrition.0 -

And I weigh myself nude after I use the toilet but before I ever get a sip of water in the morning. I had to take a sip this morning because I could not stop coughing but I don't think a sip is three ounces.0

Everything you describe screams water retention. If you have suddenly started moving more, and your body is sore, I guarantee your muscles are retaining water, as part of their recovery process.
Stop panicking. I also recommend that you think about how sustainable and achievable your diet is. 1250 calories a day plus over an hour at the gym most days sounds bloody awful. How much are you aiming to lose a week?2 -

I wouldn't stress over 3oz. That's not considered a major gain in the long run. At the same time it could be to the fact that your building muscle.0

Unless you're trying to kill yourself through dehydration, you drank water yesterday, yeah? Your body will be temporarily keeping more of that fluid than usual, in order to recover from the exertion in the gym.
This is not really how it works biologically, but think of it as an internal Band-Aid or having a limb in plaster. You wouldn't be frustrated by your weight on the scale if you hopped on with your leg set in plaster and saw you were weighing more on account of having your leg encased in plaster of paris, and this is no different.

Yes I agree with the above post. I do Crossfit, after an extra strenuous workout I have gained as much as 2 pounds, your muscles will hang on to the water temporarily. It drops off the next day or so.0

There could be other factors to consider: Are you gaining lean muscle to replace body fat? Are you measuring your body fat%? What time is your last meal? You seem to be a well determined person, just don't beat yourself up about it. I'm not sure what your eating dairy is, however, 3oz, is better than 3 lbs.

Did you weigh yourself at the same time of day? Your body weight can fluctuate throughout the day so you have to weigh yourself at the same time to get a good read on how much you are gaining or losing.0

@catmomfat to give a precise answer to your question, "What am I doing wrong", you are holding too high expectations for rapid positive feedback on your efforts. You have to be patient and wait for your body to sort through the mess of dealing with all the weight-losey things you're doing to it. Weight loss happens over time, on scales of weeks and months.5

This! is what you are doing wrong. Stay off the scale of you can't handle completely normal weight fluctuations. Eat a varied diet with lots of nutritious foods that you like (and some treats too). Keep exercising reasonably. Realize you are in this body for life so you might as well treat it with respected rather than call yourself fat and ugly.4 -

Have you ever been hit on by a chubby chaser. Nothing reaffirms the fact you are fat and ugly like that.
Refer to my previous statement. Nobody is going to join your self-pity party, or recommend any more drastic weight loss measures when you're already losing at a perfectly acceptable rate.5 -

I strongly, strongly encourage you to seek counseling. Based on your posts in these forums I've seen you have an incredibly negative view of yourself and an unhealthy relationship with both food and the scale. Seek help from someone who can actually guide you through this process, not just for your physical health, but your mental and emotional health as well.
I don't know why I'm even putting this because you're likely to ignore it anyhow, but 3 ounces is nothing. I put on 3 lbs of water weight two days ago, had most of it off by yesterday, and then saw a scale loss today reaching a new low. Weight loss is not linear, steady, or even predictable. That 3 ounces you're up is literally less than about the weight an extra cup of water would be if it was still in your system.
Relax, stop stressing, seek help.9 -
My first suggestion would be to stop weighing yourself every couple of days...I have been guilty of this and I have even been doing this the last couple of weeks, but it doesn't help any. From morning to night I can fluctuate a couple of lbs based on what I've had to eat or drink. Honestly 3 ounces is nothing to be concerned about...stressing over something so minuscule can cause you to start obsessing over weight and size and that doesn't lead to a healthy lifestyle or image of yourself.0

You are not your sister. Your journeys are not comparable.
She may have made drastic cuts to her calories, her bmr might be higher than yours, she might be training more intensely, she might have cut carbs to low levels and subsequently lost a lot of water weight. She may have negatively impactes her health losing weight quickly. She might go back to "normal" eating next week and put it all back on plus some....
But really, why does it matter. Worry about yourself!0
