4 Months in with weight training

I've done this yo-yo dieting with cardio routine waaaay too many times to count. I was tired and cranky.
I started lifting 5xs a week in Jan of this year and do sprinkle in some cardio on some days. Before I hadn't done an Olympic lift but now I absolutely love the barbell. It has changed my body so much faster than my constant running.
I just want to hopefully inspire anyone who hasn't ever lifted to find a trainer/coach and throw some weights!
SW:140lbs : JAN 2017
CW: 120lbs : APRIL 2017
GW: I don't know!

Wow! Very inspiring!! You look awesome. Can I ask what kind of lifting program you used? What kind of deficit did you eat at?1

I have MFP set at .5lb loss a week. I do eat back my exercise calories on days when I'm hungry and less when I'm not.
Since Jan I have been doing CrossFit. At first I could barely do a sit-up or a knee push-up! However, everything is scaled and slowly I have been improving!
We have a barbell club at my box that focuses Olympic lifts. I love doing it. My favorite lifts are snatches, front squats and cleans.4 -
This is truly inspiring!! Thank you for sharing, and I hope you'll keep us updated as time goes on!1

I really need to start lifting!5

Great job!!! You look amazing!
I agree 100%. I was a cardio bunny for many years and I hated weight lifting with a passion until my new Bootcamp instructor (who is a body builder) started training us and forcing me to lift weights and lift heavy. I ABSOLUTELY loveeeeee lifting. My body has made a major transformation to where people are noticing and asking me what I do. I tell them weight lifting and of course MFP lol.
I still run because I just love running but I spend more time lifting now and I am cracked out on it!3 -

An hour or less. Usually around 45 min. Some days (weekends) I'll do some trail walking or take the kids/dogs for a walk that would be much longer.1 -
ooooo, nice muscles well done.1

Wow, amazing. And here I am trying to get "in shape" before I start cross fit, thanks for the inspiration. I'm not going to wait, I'm just going to join. Thanks again, keep it up!3

Definitely don't wait! The people are the best part! I'm on vacation this week and trying to workout by myself and it's waaaaay less fun.1 -

Update: Another month, more lifting.
I passed my goal weight and immediately said to myself, "Now what?"...I wasn't done. I didn't feel, done.
I'm now working on gaining strength and focusing on gaining muscle mass.
I'll probably still keep a close eye on the scale, but the numbers aren't motivating my goals. (Easier said then done...)

Shut the front door. I am going to pay off a couple of bills so that I can budget for a trainer/class/SOMETHING to get me lifting weights.
Thanks for the inspiration.3 -

No problem! You can do it!0 -
You are either naturally gifted, or just a lot more hardcore than me, because those results in just 4 months put me to shame for sure! It takes me forever to get those kind of results. Awesomeness!3
