If you want nasty try posting a question on a linux board without searching first. They don't use duck filters...
Eta Yay back to kittens!
Or not - jeez it just posted with the original Very Bad Word2 -
Well... if you put some in a shot glass and add a few drops of dawn to break the surface tension, you have the best fruit fly trap ever!4

if I take a shot of it, my stomach flips and feels nasty, and I don't want to eat. Appetite Control !3

Sorry this site replaces bad words with *kitten* (or *asparagus * lately), but something glitched when I edited post and the original bad word appeared in all its glory. I edited again to *duck*.1 -
@mph323 thats Awesome! Very funny....0

It's not only about this question being asked nearly every day but it's usually on the first or second page of the forum, either in this section or the Food one.
Now if you're entirely new to forums, which would be rare these days, then I can see not looking through a couple of pages but otherwise, not doing it does make regulars kind of crabby. It's not personal when people internet roll their eyes. It's about the perpetuation of the myth more than anything else.3 -
I need some of your real life experiences. So many contradictory articles out there. Help please! And if does work for you and you do use it, how are taking it. Thanks!
It works really well for pulled pork and shredded beef. Seems to help my wife's digestive issues. If you are asking about weight loss, no it doesn't do anything for that. People have been claiming it does even back in the 1970s, possibly before that even, and like many of these things it seems to come back every few decades or so.1 -
It is absolute legend for barbecuing pork.1

Thanks @anvilhead2 maybe I should have just asked for relative links or just not posted. I thought this community was here to help. I appreciate the links I went into them. It has certainly been discussed before. I am relatively new to the MFP and boards soooo..... I guess I am just p.... everyone off by trying to interact.
Like everyone has said, don't take it personally. I returned to MFP in January of 2016 after a 3 year hiatus and my first comment to a post about sugar addiction raised the roof. Learned my lesson quickly about doing credible research. Lurk the forums here and you will find common threads about what works and what doesn't. Mainly, you will learn there are no gimmicks, secret formulas, cleanses, etc. that will make you lose weight. Look at the success stories to see what has worked for people. Of course, weight loss isn't everyone's goal on here so you also find useful information about exercise, weight gain, etc.
As to ACV, I tried it for acid reflux because I read somewhere it helps and thought I was going to die. What worked was losing lots of weight.4 -
I only click on the ACV threads any more because sometimes there is food porn and sometimes there are really good recipes posted.
And I found out that ACV is really good for killing gnats.7 -
I made this a few days ago with ACV, great on waffles.

Work for what? There's a million sites out there touting it as the new and improved Dr. Smith's Snake Oil - Good for What Ails You. It has a lot of uses in food and cleaning, but it's just ... vinegar
Thats my question? Its being marketed for a ton of uses and I am asking for your experience, if any...
1) The mild acid in it has been helpful for some people to remove things like warts and skin tags from the skin.
2) Some have found it helps with acid reflux, others found it made their reflux worse
3) There is some correlation with vinegar (all vinegar, not just ACV) helping diabetics regulate blood sugar. No definitive proof but enough correlation that further study is being done.
All other "medicinal" uses are myth. Cooking and cleaning uses are not myth.1 -
What is ACV good for? (Uses validated and proven by MFP members)
1. Dilute to use as hair rinse (makes it soft and shiny)
2. Remove shoe polish before reapplying (keeps the leather nice and supple)
3. Help with acid reflux if caused by TOO little acidity in the stomach. If it's caused by too much acidity, ACV will make you wish you'd died.
4. Kill gnats (put in glass, put cling wrap over, poke holes in, watch gnats drown because of their own gluttony)
5. Makes a good salad dressing (Bonus points when it includes olive oil and fresh mint... go ahead and try it!)
6. Seriously delicious pulled pork (haven't yet tried, but with the amount of times it's been mentioned... yeah it's on my to do list)
What is ACV not good for?
1. Weight loss
2. World peace
3. Weight loss
4. Creating dating opportunities
5. Weight loss
6. Eternal youth
7. Weight loss
8. You get the point
Warnings about drinking ACV undiluted
1. Can damage the tooth enamel
2. Can damage the esophagus (or really... the entire way down to the stomach)
So please be careful about drinking that stuff.11 -
Oh my, I'm glad I ran into this thread. Now I know where not to go for help and encouragement. I was doing a search on liver health issues and this thread came up. I have a lot of scary autoimmune things going on so I've been researching everything and anything. I also have heard lots of different things about ACV. Here's some info from WebMD http://www.webmd.com/diet/apple-cider-vinegar-and-your-health Maybe try some autoimmune forums for real experiences with taking ACV. People there are very friendly and helpful. On Facebook, search for hypothyroid mom. She has a very big following and touches on all types of health issues including weight loss. Mostly everyone is helpful and encouraging. I research everything to death but, like you, hearing from people who have actually experienced whatever you're researching is very helpful so I get why you asked the question. Good luck and I hope you find the answers you are looking for.1

I guess I am one of the rare ones you mention. That's the problem, I am learning, but few people will have the patience or will to help anyone these days/2 -
