Not sure if you are aware, but your world appears to have turned sideways, you may want to have that checked out.6 -
motivation I would assume????1

Nope that's my fat *kitten*...11

Shrugs, I imagine some are not comfortable with people knowing whom they are via pictures. Maybe a privacy issue. Mine is all me7

I'm currently using a photo of my new car that I got in January. All my other profile pictures are of me. Just felt like using something different.3

Privacy, and I like to show my flowers.9

This is my actual picture. I like to bake, and am adorable.

I catfish as a Passion Flakie so people will love me.
I have pictures of me in my profile.
Why others use a picture that's not them (my guesses):
- motivation
- love that thing/person
- privacy
- catfishing9 -

Anonymity. My work is too into restricting peoples' online activity.7 -
Motivation i would think....But then again who would be worried about it ??? Idk i dont think is a big deal ??4

I'm guessing privacy or it may be a pic of something that makes them happy. Mine is my evil twin, or maybe it isn't?! (insert evil laugh here)3

When I first came on here I used a picture of my dog. I didn't really want to put my own picture up at first. I wouldn't use another person's picture, but I can see someone using a picture of someone they admire for motivation.1

I'm sure a lot of people do for either motivation or because people lie on the internet lol6

Same reason I don't use my real name as a user name, privacy.8
-
I wouldn't use another person's pic, but I don't show mine so I don't get all the weirdos messaging me and sending friend requests. It's worked wonders. I think most guys think I'm a dude because of my name. Lol!!17

Privacy is the main reason that I don't use my real image (unless of course you believe that I really am a dragon ). I also work in a profession where keeping my real image and other PID info private is very important to me.9

I don't use my own pic because I am not photogenic and every pic taken of me looks like a melting Picasso painting.
It makes me sad. I'm much better in real life.5 -
Why does it even matter? some don't like to be hit on, some don't like the way they look, some people want motivational pictures, some like myself have anxiety and low esteem issues but why does it matter if people don't upload a pic of themselves on a calorie counting website??5

I think OP meant when it IS a person but it ISN'T them, not like a generic pic3 -

Speaking of real pics, this new photo of you and the burger is brilliant, and makes me realize I am long overdue for a Red Robin visit.5 -
I'm definitely a cat in real life.12

You ARE adorable! :flowerforyou:2 -
I have often wondered the same thing. So i am let to guess.. Maybe they don't like the way they look, or are embarrassed by their appearance. Maybe they turn into their alter ego on forums and don't want their friends/family/acquaintances to see their behaviour. Maybe they tell people on here that they are a muscle bound athlete, or they are the perfect weight, but are really 100lbs overweight... Yes,i have really overthought this conundrum lol
I don't work for the cia or some other secret organisation, and i am happy with the way i look, i don't care if people i know in real life stumble across me on here, so i have no reason to post some other persons pic.6 -
Because they want to.6

Can you see me? I tried to hide behind that wheat grass. It didn't work, huh?
I don't use my picture because I've been on forums for many years and I just get a lot less unwanted attention this way.14 -
I have used a variety of pictures that I have taken (elephant, big Buddha, etc.) and sometimes motivational quotes, but then I took this lovely selfie and just had to share it.7
-
I like to mix it up. Me, grandkids, me and hubby, dogs, me and dogs, sunrise, sunset, motivational quotes, chocolate chip cookie. Whatever strikes my fancy, but I don't use pictures of OTHER real life people and pretend it's me. That's a little weird IMO.7

OK so all I did was ask. no it's not a big deal and I was just wondering. I wasn't asking for any to get upset about it. I don't always use my pictures but I never use a picture if someone I don't know. My kids or my boyfriend maybe, but that's it. Privacy I understand completely. Why does it matter that I asked?? If you didn't like what I said no need to comment. I'm on here to get along with people and make friends. Please if you don't have anything nice to say just keep it to yourself.3
