I think OP meant when it IS a person but it ISN'T them, not like a generic pic3 -

Speaking of real pics, this new photo of you and the burger is brilliant, and makes me realize I am long overdue for a Red Robin visit.5 -
I'm definitely a cat in real life.12

I have often wondered the same thing. So i am let to guess.. Maybe they don't like the way they look, or are embarrassed by their appearance. Maybe they turn into their alter ego on forums and don't want their friends/family/acquaintances to see their behaviour. Maybe they tell people on here that they are a muscle bound athlete, or they are the perfect weight, but are really 100lbs overweight... Yes,i have really overthought this conundrum lol
I don't work for the cia or some other secret organisation, and i am happy with the way i look, i don't care if people i know in real life stumble across me on here, so i have no reason to post some other persons pic.6 -
Because they want to.6

Can you see me? I tried to hide behind that wheat grass. It didn't work, huh?
I don't use my picture because I've been on forums for many years and I just get a lot less unwanted attention this way.14 -
I have used a variety of pictures that I have taken (elephant, big Buddha, etc.) and sometimes motivational quotes, but then I took this lovely selfie and just had to share it.7

I like to mix it up. Me, grandkids, me and hubby, dogs, me and dogs, sunrise, sunset, motivational quotes, chocolate chip cookie. Whatever strikes my fancy, but I don't use pictures of OTHER real life people and pretend it's me. That's a little weird IMO.7

OK so all I did was ask. no it's not a big deal and I was just wondering. I wasn't asking for any to get upset about it. I don't always use my pictures but I never use a picture if someone I don't know. My kids or my boyfriend maybe, but that's it. Privacy I understand completely. Why does it matter that I asked?? If you didn't like what I said no need to comment. I'm on here to get along with people and make friends. Please if you don't have anything nice to say just keep it to yourself.3

For better or worse, my pic is all me.3

I dunno. Too many people! I am shy-ish. I used to have my pic on here though. I'm sure I'll put one back someday.2

My cat is much cuter than I am.3

I'm using a real pic of my cat. My own pic is in my profile though.0

My best friend telling me I reminded her of this guy in my avatar was probably the last straw before I finally decided to start losing weight. It felt like anytime anyone ever associated me with a character in a show/movie/book, it was always the fat guy.
I'm at a healthy BMI now, but looking at my avatar every day I logged into MyFitnessPal helped motivate me to push on even when I didn't want to.6 -
I am a confused snake.
