What's your best comeback?

Someone at work is picking on me for having a diet soda today. He was going on and on about how drinking that crap is SOOO bad for you etc etc. To stop the conversation I told him 'well everyone is entitled to their own opinion' to which he replied 'and you're entitled to be wrong' It took every fiber of my being to turn and walk away. I would REALLY like a politically correct comeback to lay on him the next time I get a hankering for a diet soda.
PS I drink diet soda about 1x a month at work and only drink water, tea or coffee otherwise.

I think I'd just tell him that I wasn't particularly interested in his opinion of my diet because I'd reviewed the science to date and made my own informed decision.18

If someone was being that rude to me, I don't think political correctness would color my response. 'Bite me' usually works.

I would probably say something like, "Wow, you seem really passionate about hating diet soda. Maybe you should write a blog about this!" and kind of turn the convo on the oddness of the fact that he's so fixated on your food choice in the first place. I tend to do that whenever someone offers me personal/inappropriate criticism because focusing on WHY they care always makes them uncomfortable. Which seems like fair payback for trying to make me feel uncomfortable about my food choices.22

Never use a direct assault to combat a superior force. Instead of arguing with him, ask him where he got his information from. You might also ask him what he knows to be safe to drink. Ask him how he knows those things are safe to drink.7

This would enrage me, but if I had time to think it out, I'd be gentle with the guy. A snappy comeback is too likely to cement him in his views/ire, though Jorie's idea is really good.
My thinking: Hey George, I understand that this is important to you, but it's really uncomfortable (or weird) that you're criticizing my food choice. I heard you loud and clear, could you please drop the subject? Got any big plans for the weekend? (Or other subject changing question.)
Or simply "You're becoming a bore." Suggest talking about something else or just walk away if you can politely do so.7 -

I go with a blank stare.
Then continue to drink the soda.
No reason to respond at all.
Some people just like to get a reaction, so don't give this person the satisfaction.26 -

I turn things like this awkward...I would point out something that said person does on a regular basis that has nothing to do with diet soda or the conversation at that and ask him about it. then blank stare it. Works every time.5
