Today's notes: My run brain decided that it hates my body. Woke up at 0630, which is still sleeping in a bit, and got my run in. Another "too fast run" averaged 9:33 with an average HR of 154 (just barely in z2). My legs are dead! Between the sufferfest LR Friday, running that crazy fast (for me) 5 miles last night, and waking up 10 hours later to run again, I'm almost looking forward to 3+ hours just sitting in the car this afternoon!
Have a great day ya'all!

Four easy miles just to get the blood flowing into these legs which were subjected to all those hills yesterday. I noticed my running periods were longer on a few key points of my route, so the hills have imparted some of their magic already.

Real Goals: Run Boston. Finish healthy. Recover well.
Today's notes – Still fighting that cold. Soaked up almost 11 hours of sleep last nigh, and had crud in my throat this morning. Poked my head outside to see how it felt at 61º F; it was too warm to run in the Boston Celebration jacket. So I dropped the jacket back in my room, and set out for today's assignment: 20 to 30 minutes on the last 2 miles of the course. This turned out to be just a bit more than the last mile, running from the Citgo sign to not quite the finish line, pause for pictures, and run back a bit past the Citgo sign then back to the hotel. Total 20:02, because at this point less is more. Got my 20 minutes, don't really need 30.
On the bright side, on Sunday morning before Patriots' Day you can always find someone to take a better picture than a selfie:
Now the task it to relax for a few hours, hit the pre-race pasta dinner, and get however good a night's sleep I can before I get up to board a bus at 7 AM. It's supposed to be hot for running tomorrow, but at least this year I have advance warning of that.

I've been a week without running! I think my tibia anterior tendon got inflammed, last week was a tough one for me, so i over run to find some stress relief and i knew it was not a good idea after the marathon. My calculated mistake. I stopped my long run last Sunday just in time to avoid more.damage.
So this week was bike week, i rode about 280 miles, had lots of fun and got more.confidence with my bike. Today i went for a 50 miles ride up the mountains, super!
My tendon is healing, but I'll prob start to run again mid week, or when i wont have any pain walking for 2 days, I'm not preparing any race so i don't won't to risk anything stupid
Tomorrow i have lunch with friends, hope to fit a recovery relaxed ride very early in the morning, if not rest (sigh)5 -
Did 2.2 mi in 14 mph wind, which I'm proud of because with my asthma, any wind is too much wind. Only had to use my inhaler at my halfway point. After the run I went in Barnes and Noble for a healthy cookbook my mom suggested and left with a dessert cookbook instead. The runger was real5

I think I got a little overzealous today. I figured since yesterday went well that I'd try a little running again today. I also wanted to test out the KT tape I picked up yesterday.
Well, I managed a mile and a half in between walking breaks and now my hip hurts again. I am seriously discouraged. And in pain.
So it looks like I will be going to the doctor later this week. I'm hoping he can give me some alternate exercise to do while my hip heals. My gym does have a pool, so I could do water exercise if necessary. But I'd prefer to walk since I can do that outside.0 -

I had a great run today. It was cool and a little cloudy.
I do have a question for the experienced runners. Do you walk any during your run, and if so do you calculate how much distance you run vs walk? I started out with c25k and so I walk for 5 minutes (usually .3 miles) before I start running. Then i usally walk for about 5 minutes to cool down when i am through running. I'm just curious to know if most of you subtract the walking or just consider the whole thing the run.
