Exercising but no results

Hi I'm eating average 1800 calories per day and I do a cardio and weights class (2 hours) on Saturday, sometimes kettle bell and spin class on Sunday, football Monday and boxercise Tuesday. I've been doing this for about 7 weeks but I've seen no results at all. In fact I don't even feel fitter!!
How can that be? I've really made sure I'm eating less and from going from nothing to what I do now I was sure the weight would drop quite quick
I'm really despondent that it hasn't and the last couple of days I've slipped a bit
Anyone experienced the same or have any advice?
Thanks

Are you not getting stronger and faster?
What do you currently weigh?
How are you confirming the calories you're eating?2 -
Weight loss comes from a calorie deficit. Full stop. Doesn't even require exercise, but of course it's better with.
Exercise can improve fitness but that's not always the result. You can train (unproductively) in a way that spins your wheels and burns calories but doesn't actually improve fitness. What's more likely is that fitness changes can be hard to "feel." Like for example, running a mile in 8 minutes takes more fitness than running a mile in 9 minutes but if you set a personal record with a 9 minute mile and then a new record a week or two later with an 8 minute mile, they'll both feel really hard for you, and if you don't time it, you might not have any idea that you're improving.10 -
Folks often assume increased activity is a ticket that gets them out of logging their food but in most cases that's counter-productive. Increased activity often equals increased appetite, and most people don't burn near what they think they should with their workouts. You *still* have to eat in a calorie deficit to lose weight, and the surest way to get there is to log your food.18
-
You can exercise all you want, but unless you are making sure that the calorie deficit is there overall, it's going to be difficult to lose.
OP, what are your stats and how are you measuring your calorie intake?9 -
I'm not weighing my food but I am scanning where possible and have logged everything so I think it's as close to accurate as can be.
I got my average from the my fitness pal app for net calories weekly.
I'd have thought 1800 calories average and all the exercise would have done something by now. What would people suggest I do now?0 -

start weighing your food, it typically makes a world of difference when you are new
this post has alot of great accurate logging tips too if you're interested:

If you're not using a food scale then you're not actually being as accurate as can be, and you really have no idea how many calories you're consuming. A food scale is under $20, get one and prepare to be shocked!4 -

Also, verify that the entries you're using are actually correct.
There are many incorrect entries... some are associated with Bar codes.

Get a, digital food scale & weigh everything, you consume because you're consuming, more than; you believe! Also packages aren't accurate for every serving it, might be hundreds of calories extra than; what the package states & only consume, 50 ~ 75% of; your exercise calories because the calorie burns tend, to be; unrealistically high!2 -

your problem isnot weighing your food.
get a food scale
weigh as many foods as you can
log everything accurately
give it three to four weeks

You're eating 4000 calories some days, 3000 others, not logging other days, not weighing your food.6

Well...there has been an ongoing debate on here for the 6 years i've been here that a calorie is a calorie. And if you are eating within your range you are good. I can tell you for a fact that is NOT true. I looked back at your diary and to be honest, i would say not feeling better and no results is coming from your eating. I am from USA and you have some different foods logged that i dont know, but eating bread and jam for breakfast and cheeseburgers and candy etc is not going to get you results. 80% of results come from food! Clean up your diet. More grains, eggs, tuna and fruits and veggies and you WILL see results i guarantee it. Try some homemade salads with a protein or two and lots of veggies with homemade dressings, oatmeal instead of bread and biscuits in the morning, low calorie cheese stick and a hardboiled egg to replace the yogurts, add avocado into your diet, etc. Hope this helps.3

Yeeeeeah. Looking through your diary, you're excessively eating WAY past that 1800 mark. Even on days where you're eating close to that range, you're still eating things like chocolate and other sweets and those calories could go toward something that would fill you up more and help you stay in that range.
It looks like you just gotta really buckle down on yourself. You can do it!4 -

fascinating, but not helpful or relevant.
how is it not relevant??? it is directly addressing the problem presented~!
No it's not. It's stating a fact that's as obvious as gravity and thusly isn't at all useful in analyzing the problem.
It's a facile way to run off new posters and discourage them from having meaningful interactions.
how is telling someone to eat in a calorie deficit going to scare them off?
Because what you're saying is "you're too stupid to know this"
Thus, not helpful or relevant.
Other unhelpful phrases
Water is wet.
The floor is down.
Most people're unable to, outrun their forks which's why; a calorie deficit's a necessity!4 -

Yet science shows for an undisputed fact that it IS true. When speaking purely in terms of weight loss, calories are all that matter. Period. The only "debate" is by people who refuse to acknowledge scientifically proven facts and/or are ignorant of basic physiology.12 -

Read the Twinkie diet post and tell me again how type of food supercedes the importance of a calorie deficit.6 -

Hey lady, i never once said he didn't need a deficit. I would assume that he already should have a deficit if he is only eating 1800 calories but really has the amount of activity he already said he has! As well as how many other posters that said that he should have a deficit. I dont need to say that again.0 -

If I consume over my calorie budget with, just spinach I am going to; gain weight! While high volume, nutrient dense & low calorie consumables help with satiety they, don't cause; weight loss themselves!0 -
As for not feeling fitter, it takes more than 7 weeks of exercise 3-4 times a week to build noticeable muscle and/or get in great cardiovascular shape. It is a good start - keep it up!2

But it's not calling anyone stupid. Just because its obvious to you, doesnt mean it's obvious to everyone. There are honestly people who do not know this. If you've spent any length of time in the forums, you see posts frequently about people thinking all they have to do is work out/eat clean/low carb/whatever, and calories don't matter. We have the great fortune of living in the MFP bubble where this is discussed frequently, but there are lots of people out in the world who don't know this either.7 -

Why is the bread you eat any different to the bread the OP is eating? His jam is just like the honey you eat but with real fruit in it.
And you eat McDonalds burgers.

In this case it is, since he started out by stating that he's only getting 1800 Calories.
Now, a quick review of his diary shows that what he needs to do first is log accurately and completely.
At which point, when he actually gets to 1800 Calories, he'll likely lose weight2 -

Hey lady, see this part where you say you can tell him for a fact that it's not true that eating within his range is enough? This is the problem. I don't see anything in that statement that suggests you understand that deficit is all that matters for weight loss.

Ironic post is ironic.
If I run a precisely measured one mile course, does it make a difference if it's uphill, downhill, in the rain, in the snow, in 110 degree heat, whether I'm barefoot, wearing running shoes, dress shoes or combat boots? Does it make a difference if I run it at 3:08 in the morning, 12:00 noon or 6:37 pm? Does it matter if I'm fasted or have a full stomach? Does it matter if I'm a 6'4" male or a 5'1" female? 18 years old or 72 years old?
Tell me which of those things would change the fact that I ran one mile. Yeah, it's kinda like that with calories too. They're a unit of measure, just like a mile is.17 -
